I went very low carb 6 years ago and lost 150lbs - from 320lbs to 170lbs. It took me 2 years to lose it, and I’ve maintained it for 4 years. My BP is 110/65 now. I eat no sugar, no fruit, no fried foods, no fast food, no bread, no rice, no white potatoes - I do eat sweet potatoes. I only use olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, butter & ghee. My vegetables are typically avocados, cabbage, pickles, beets, asparagus, green beans, Brussel sprouts. I do eat black bean pasta and chickpea pasta - both very high in potassium, which will lower your blood pressure. I’m a non-smoker, non-drinker. I drink only Berkey filtered water and one cup of green tea. I use Allulose as a sweetener. I do eat walnuts and Brazil nuts daily. If you go low carb YOU HAVE TO REPLENISH WITH SODIUM, POTASSIUM, & MAGNESIUM. That’s why some people feel so crappy going low carb. I use Himalayan pink salt for my sodium. I take a magnesium supplement every night. I get enough potassium from my potassium-rich foods that I eat. My only exercise during this whole period of 6 years is taking my dogs for a walk - not far, just around the block.

As a primary care physician your entire right up is ridiculous. If you’re of the belief you’re going to live some long life consuming saturated fats you’ll be in for a sad reality. The initial value of your diet change is you stopped eating processed food. You could easily count calories and have a healthy diet, but it seems you’re of extremes. You ate so much port food choices that you were over 300lbs. Now all you consume is animal proteins. You’re obviously not capable of eating a healthy, balanced diet. Carbohydrates are not some sort of poison. The refined sugars and grains and high fructose corn syrup were your issue.

It is to the point that I am watching pretty much anything I eat. I guess it is the new normal. In my normal day to day - I limit all sugar and carbs. Is it zero? No. But just doing that helped a LOT. I drink water most often now. I was a sacrifice at first. Not so much anymore.
I try to eat semi-normal when with friends. But keep all decisions rational. Chocolate lava cake? Pass.

I got serious about diet and health when I got up to 210 lbs (33 year old 5’9” male) and came across Dr. Ken Berry’s CZcams channel. Followed his advice of doing strict keto/mostly carnivore diet and lost 50 lbs. in 4 months.
I have since started eating some more carbs, but I still try to stick with a high fat, organic, non processed diet during the week combined with intermittent fasting (Only 1 or 2 meals a day, and never in the morning). Overall I feel like my health is in much better shape than what it would’ve been had it not been for the likes of Dr. Ken Berry and Eric Berg.
Appreciate you doing these types of videos and hope they manage to make a positive impact on people who need to change their dietary habits to fix most of their health problems.

Got news for you.... Chik Fil A is not even close to clean. It is highly processed with the same preservatives.
Meat processing plants...... there’s four major processors Cargill, Tyson, National and JBS. National and JBS are Brazilian owned. You might want to investigate where your store meat comes from. Hint, it’s foreign. The usda allows US labeling as soon as they place a knife through it and or package it.
Seek local ranchers and suppliers. It’s easy.

Beet root supplements, or drinking beet juice works. But if u take the supplements you need A LOT of water and fiber. And/Or to drink pre/probiotics regularly. A lot of peoples stomachs pretty much go into overdrive to process beet root supplements. (You can make your own if you dehydrate the beets, then grind them into powder. Then mix it into water and drink it room temp)
Real beet juice is best, especially if u grow the beets yourself, and got the seeds from a good place that didnt do all kinds of experiments to the fruits.
In jamaica and costa rica (where my parents are from) u juice beets with ginger root, and u can eat some of the paste to get the fiber. Then drink the juice. Its pretty tart and gingery. But good for you. Goes well with seamoss.
Ive seen 5 nutritionists, 2 regularly. And i tend to teach them more than they teach me since a lot of the stuff i learned growing up is what they're telling patients now for natural remedies to things.

i think its still just as expensive to eat good and cook yourself because going out is really expensive! but at least youre getting a better quality food. home grown vegetables if you have the space is huge too, its more work but man do they taste so much better than store bought. i usually just use balsamic vinegar for the dressing.

What makes your blood pressure goes up along with your weight is too many calories per day against calories spent. If sugar and carbs is where you get your calories from don't do that. You can pressure up on solid meat too if it's over done

I use a "Zero Water" jug with a filter. This product actually comes with a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter. The filters last for about six weeks where I live in Sussex in the UK, where the tap water is really good, as it comes from chalk aquifers. Nevertheless, the TDS reading of unfiltered tap water here is 200 PPM (Parts per million). After the water has been filtered, the reading is zero PPM.

People who see food as entertainment instead of just nutrition will pay with their health. BTW honey is actually a bit worse than sugar. They are both bad and should be avoided. Fruit is also a problem because of fructose (sugar). Honey, sugar and carbs will lead to things like Alzheimer's aswell. For peak health keep your diet as close as possible to just meat, butter, eggs and fish. High fat and high cholesterol being demonised is a mistake. Also avoid seed (vegatable) oils and just consume animal fat. Avoid packaged meats. Try to get your meat products from a farm or butcher. If you're taking statins...stop! The whole statin thing has been debunked and is just a great way for pharma companies to profit.

It’s unfortunate Nathan has obviously had some rural crap diet and just now almost a half century later something has dawned on him. I hope he doesn’t waste his time on making these videos. There are 1,000’s of these videos out there. His BMW videos were definitely unique and of huge value to the BMW community. Don’t eat stuff out of boxes and bags and don’t drink anything other than water and you’ll live a long life.
