Tim - " Im the tech guy"
2 min later shows a picture they took of their TV with their phone because they dont know how to transfer a screenshot hahaha
This is KFG Vol. 2, Episode 175 (Episode 427 overall)
I for real appreciate this
😢😢😢
czcams.com/video/vXVOGTGLsLA/video.html
Me too, I'm keeping score!! ☺️
What marked vol 2
@@alecfigueroa5769 At some point they did a reset (I guess Tim was preparing to cancel another good pod., as he does - see KFAF!), and they then decided to do it all again! 🙂
I thought for sure Andy was gonna do his Nebula “hey dad” voice instead of “I rebel” and I have no idea why.
Tim not knowing how to take a screenshot from the PS five speaks volumes 😂🤣
Props to Blessing on his review of the game. It can be really hard to not vibe with something that everyone around you is super excited about.
Had to come back here cause I just got to the “Grin on my face” part of the game and my god the amount of fun I had for all that blew me away. Also the performance issues do suck but not quite enough to stop me from playing
what was your grin on my face section. No spoilers butttt green set piece in the sand... does that ring a bell
I’m on my last mission, and have been waiting for the moment they talk about the whole game. What was it? I assume my expectations were too high
Minor crashes for the game? It seems those will be fixed soon? Not sure if this will run on Steam Deck
"you're dying on normal? that's crazy" - NitroRifle
I was planning on waiting a bit, as my gaming schedule is a little full right now, but that seems to be the winning play anyway with these tech issues.
but sounds like its exactly what I wanted to see after enjoying (but not being blown away) by Fallen Order.
Appreciate y’all being honest about the technical issues of the game. Going through fallen order now and I will definitely pick up Jedi Survivor in the fall or next year once the bugs are worked out. Sounds like this game needed at least another 3-6 months. Excited to play it when the time is right! Sucks another gaming publisher releases a game so buggy, hopefully day one patch does the trick.
You realize they’re playing without the day 1 patch
Yup, I do know that! Like Blessing said, Jedi Fallen Order released with so many bugs and also like Andy said, his recent play through of fallen order was littered with bugs and that’s 4 years after launch with multiple patches and next gen update. We can only hope the day one patch for Jedi Survivor fixes a lot of the bugs but it’s important to be aware and realistic.
@@StanleySThomas Push Square's review mentioned that the latest patch fixed many of the performance issues. Edit: Talking about the PS5 version specifically
I'm just gonna wait for the digital foundry video to see how day 1 performance ends up
@@graynor67games still a piece of shit after the day one patch on everything
Great conversation as usual, but you guys still need a 10-point scale lol. It's only going to help.
They'll review a 3/5 game that they love like a 5/5 game but have to score it 4/5 but leaning more towards 5/5 than 3/5 👀
The day 0 fixed nothing change your review...
Greg’s, “…And your time is up!” to Andy had me howling 😂
Me too & no one even flinched at it...they're all used to Greg's shenanigans!!
The beginning of Greg’s review monologue sounds like it belongs on Love Sex and stuff 😂
😂😂😂
czcams.com/video/vXVOGTGLsLA/video.html
Listening to this 4 momths out, I'm moments away from the plat and i gotta say it's listening to this that makes me appreciate not getting games early because my experience has been vastly different than these guys on the technical level. No crashes, minor jank but only once did it actually disrupt what i was doing.
So true man! The game is so much improved with the patches, you made the right call to wait for it to get fixed 💯
@@anasshahid224 Just finished the game and a year after release it's still noticeably buggy. From listening to their conversation, it isn't nearly as bad as it was. Still had character models t-posing every time you took the mantis to a new planet, Merrin just disappeared at one point after first meeting her forcing me to reload the save, the scorpion sand boss wouldn't trigger at first so Merrin and I are just standing around waiting forcing me once again to reload the save, Merrin T-posed through an entire section, in a cutscene when Cal gets the compass it was like a foot away from his hand, hit detection was spotty and then various other visual and technical bugs. It was a great time and fun to play through, but it's still riddled with bugs.
Hope that the same energy is kept for Redfall being 30fps and given the free pass that this seems to be getting with a 5/5. I understand saying 5/5 isn’t perfect but when it’s the highest score on your scale there should be some weight to that score given it’s the highest one you can give. Ragnarok and this being a 5/5 is weird to me
I expected Andy to complain about performance but Blessing has admitted in the past he doesn’t really like Star Wars. I’d rather people that are a fan of the source material.
I hope the day 1 patch clears up the technical issues im sick and tired of games coming out unfinished
Tim: "I'm tech guy".... also Tim: "I don't know how to take screenshot" :D
What makes Kinda Funny special is I feel like everyone is on mental and humour level and Greg is just nailing the PC jokes 😂
Great review fellas! Can't wait to dive in, already pre-loaded the game, and it sounds like it'll be another hefty download with the patch, but really looking forward to the next installment in Cal's (and BD's) story!
Hopefully day one patch fixes alot of issues as it sounds incredible but again held back by issues. Even the current gen fallen order it is still buggy.
So I can only speak for Fallen Order, but Andy bringing up the weird lighting on Cal’s hair is something I took issue with in the first game, but on my second playthrough my dumbass caught the source.
Its BD-1. BD-1 is has lights on his head and they make Cal’s hair look out of place in dark areas.
aha
Anybody know the specs on Andy’s PC? Curious how it’ll run on my ryzen 7/3080/16gig RAM which oddly ran the TLOU remake port pretty well.
andy has a 9900k with a 4090
@@TheStylemaster84 thanks homie! Also…HOLY JESUS 😰
Barret really takes over episodes he’s on. Talks over everyone and rambles on
It’s annoying
Not been super into Star Wars in recent years but I definitely want to play this after playing Jedi Fallen Order.
Omg. Listening to Gregory talking about this game….I’m hyped.
Same wondering what ‘that’ moment was he spoke of.
Hype off the charts!
@@Mr_APeezy Do you know what moment that was? im curious as well, I just finished the game, i thought he would say it but never did
Did I miss you guys talking about the map? The biggest issue from the first game?
They did mention it at some point. From what I've read/listened to with several reviews it seems like it is 'slightly' better but still not great.
@@terriblemaze thank you!
Its improved and at least easier to find things and fast travel is there which was a big missing aspect from the first one. It still is the levels like the first one but for the most part I didn't get confused trying to look around the map for anything. Still needs things like waypoints and stuff so still not up to standards but not nearly as bad as the first one.
Obviously with your computer Andy you should be able to basically run any game at a consistent 60, but I am curious what your settings were on; were you playing on 4k resolution, were all the settings on high, did you have ray tracing on, etc.
From what I've seen (I think Andy did say this as well), it looks like the framerate would be around the same range even if you change every graphical setting to low. The only difference might be vram usage
so far it seems just like the last one a great game with alot of tech problems dragging it down.
😂😂😂😂
czcams.com/video/vXVOGTGLsLA/video.html
I waited a year after release to play Fallen Order and it still had a ton of tech problems.
Playing it on PC I-9 12th gen CPU 64gig of ram 4070TI and with maxed out settings barely hitting 80fps when standing still but dropping to 40s at points and a lot of screen tearing, turned Vsync back on, and it's almost steady at 60. When I got it yesterday, I had 1 crash where I had to wait 5 minutes to play again due to cloud saves, but booting it up today I had 5 crashes in the space of 1 hour which was calmed a bit by switching it back to windowed full screen from just full screen. But crashes were still happening, did a bit of digging online and turned off Ray tracing and no issues since that. Fully agree this needed another 3-6 months in the oven to come out right
Super hyped to jump into this game Friday night after work!
Glad I pre-ordered this game on PS5 after hearing all the PC trouble. I had a feeling my 2070 Super wouldn't have been enough for this one lol.
Blessing you are my guy but i hate when ppl complain about combat when playing on normal
I have a question. Do you think I will need to have completed the previous game in order to appreciate this one?
I’m super excited to play this, but I’m even more excited for Zelda so I think I’m going to wait to pick it up until I’m done with Tears of the Kingdom and hope that the tech issues get worked out. On a separate note - please change the KF Review Scale to a 10 point scale! 🙏
Tech stuff is an absolute concern. Beyond that it sounds great. Curious on the day 1 patch
Very excited to play this
We need a episode going over everyone's draft and where there are sitting almost halfway through
In June
Played as far as the open area in Koboh before deciding to drop the game until it gets patched. To me it is woefully irresponsible to give this game such a high score while acknowledging its technical shortcomings despite how intrusive they absolutely are. This kind of behavior from such a big outlet is exactly what motivates publishers to allow games to release in such horrible, unfinished states. At least claim that your score is a review-in-progress until it gets patched because Fallen Order is still a buggy mess almost four years later so there is no precedent that Survivor will ever truly get fixed and earn its '5/5' score.
Bro, I can't wait to get Cal in live action. It's gotta be coming, right?
It's almost here.
33:53 That's some hardcore boomer energy haha.
What platform was this review based on?
Best intro animation
Seems like a definite wait for sale/patches sort of situation.
Great ep. Can't wait for the game.
So like most new releases these day - focus on your backlog and wait till it goes on sale lol
Cals hair always seemed on fire in Fallen Order for me. Sucks to hear Andy say its back.
I'm anticipating a SPOILERCAST with Stig Asmussen.
That'd be so sick, hopefully it will happen one day. 😃
Played a few hours and loving it so far
Been waiting on this review, and things of its nature.
This game chuggs at times but I cannot stop playing it and having a blast
How was the map guys?
A reminder I have always told myself: When I played God Of War (2018) for the first time, the game hard crashed after the Magni fight and I lost my entire save and everything on my PS4 console. I was devasted, but I decided to go a play again shortly after. God of War ended up being one of my favorite games of all time and I haven't thought about the crash until this podcast.
A good game is a good game, performance and bugs be damned. I’d like for games to come out Uber polished on release l, but if the game is great, some frame drops and bugs aren’t gonna change my opinion of it
@@2canwin635 I agree for the most part. As long as bugs aren’t effecting gameplay in a major way - and Fallen Order was definitely that - I can usually look past minor tech issues. I do not want another Fallen Order experience again. I loved that game except the moments where I was actively playing it.
I had the same experience with Elden Ring, I remember losing around 20 hours of progress (which is the length of most linear AAA games lol) but I don't even remember being frustrated because of the fun I've had playing the rest of the game!
I can’t wait for this game
04:43 - I think frame rate issues should be addressed before launch, Greg always simpin for sponsors
Hyped to play this
Just beat the game and came straight here. I thought the game was incredible.
Super excited to play this in a few months. I will be okay waiting for a few patches to actually go through and play. Glad it's overall incredible.
Did they score it? I’m at the doctor’s office so I can’t put my volume up, dying to hear their score (I’m assuming 4/5 if performance issues)
On the final section of the game and the story incredible. The only issue is how the game still performs even with the patches. Fps is still shocking and also texture load in is rough .
I'm screaming "sub-surface scattering" in the office 31:52
edit: Andy got it lmao
I think I'm going to wait for a sale especially with Zelda coming out in 2 weeks
Completely agree with what Tim said about how this game feels like the kinda Star Wars I love when there's a lot of Star Wars these days that I don't love. I'd love more stories like this, and with this game, Andor, and Rogue One, I think it's safe to say this time period between Ep. 3 and 4 is quickly becoming one of my favorite eras of Star Wars canon.
People sleep on Rogue One so hard. Easily one of the best star wars movies.
So to Greg's point earlier in the video, I don't know why they don't give out tentative review scores. Like here is the review of the game in its current state.
Nothing about the map? that was the worst thing about the first one...
From what I've read the map is marginally better but still not good.
Andy, your 4090 is being bottlenecked by your cpu way more than you think. You need the latest CPU to pair with a 4090.
Im right there with Blessing. Playing Modern Warfare 2's campaign, my save got deleted when I was on the last few missions and I just didnt wanna go back and play through again. Its not that I didnt enjoy the game enough to play through it again, its just that i dont have time to play games as much as I used to, and I chose to set aside time to play your game, and your game blew it by wasting that time and bricking my save. Thats in a short game like MW2, let alone a longer game like Jedi Survivor. If my save got bricked, sorry im prolly done with your franchise at that point.
Played on PS5, was there frame rate drops and visual issues, yea there was. Did it take me out of the experience, no it didn't. I was enjoying the story and gameplay so much that when i did run into any visual issues which wasn't often, I didn't really care or notice that much. This game is in every aspect better than the first and the first was great itself. They improved everything and made everything more fun. This game is the perfect example of how to do lightsaber and force combat. I felt like a Jedi in every moment while playing.
Put it on the same level as GoW Ragnarok is an absolute wild take. Finished Jedi Survivor, enjoyed it, was still buggy post patches. Wish they built it on UE5 instead of 4 which should’ve helped performance
Great review, Star Wars Jedi Survivor is so good, loved Fallen Order, Survivor is even better, absolutely stunning on PS5 😊
The only two 5 star reviewers also didn't really like Elden Ring. With Blessing saying the combat is a bit off ... hmmm
czcams.com/video/vXVOGTGLsLA/video.html
A fair point for us souls folks. I also agree with Andy and Bless on Sekiro being 2019 GOTY of Fallen Order 100%
I feel like one of the major reasons the first game didn't work for me is that it just felt like a poorly designed From Soft knockoff. The characters and cutscenes were cool but the gameplay felt mooshy and boring.
Let’s do this.
lol its only a matter of time before you give in to a 10 point scale!
The amount of 'I give it a five but it's a low 5' or 'I give it a five but it would be a nine if-' is kinda hilarious.
Cal is a total JILF in this game
Been waiting for this
May April 26th be with you
This sounds like a GOTY Contender for Barrett, Greg, and Tim for sure.
Tbh I’d much rather have a slowburn kind of story than something like GOW Ragnarok which imo did not stick the landing at all storywise. When we actually got to the Ragnarok event it honestly wasn’t so bad lol
IM SO FUCKING EXCITED
Just finished the game and it's still in rough shape a year after release
Jedi: Fallen Order was one of those games where it definitely plays best on the hardest mode. It sounds scary to try but difficult wise it was easier than like Sekiro/Elden Ring. Hearing Blessing say he played on Normal for Survivor shocked me because I felt like the combat truly plays best at the hardest setting. (I almost always play normal, but this was the exception).
I also found Fallen Order more satisfying on hard. Except the final boss which was bs on hard.
Fallen order had alot of bugs early on as well ... the game did get clean up down the line ...fingers crossed
I’ve been loving this game so much. But these tech issues have pulled me out a LOT, especially at cool moments.
I have been waiting for your guys' review. I am excited!
I'll be there on release day. Pray for me
This is gonna be good!
looking forward to playing it! (eventually once all the pc tech stuff gets sorted, might do a replay of fallen order until then)
Reviewing a game when you haven't played the whole thing is very strange to me.
I am so fucking excited, and things of that nature, to play this game.
😂😂😂
czcams.com/video/vXVOGTGLsLA/video.html
Andddddd..."things of that nature"!! 😂
Amazing game
It’s crazy like this a game has had THIS many issues after being delayed. Game development is in shambles right now.
It sort of makes sense. they dont have an incentive to launch it perfectly, they have an incentive to launch it good enough to make their money.
5/5 for a game with performance & crashing issues? Unless you start dinging ratings for games for poor performance, nothing will change.
Amen. The kinda funny scale is so damn bad - they gotta find a better. You give a game that is 5/5 even though it’s crashing, has frame rate dips, and soft locks? Just because they promise them they’ll be fixing it day one lol
Barrett king of spoilers
I'm hoping it's nothing major
When is the spoiler?
He spoiled an enemy or two. Nothing major as far as I can tell
@@siddharthshishulkar8992 ah cool, thanks!
I like Barrett..but great comment.
Excited to jump into this one! A bit disappointed to hear about the tech troubles, but aint that just the way. Thanks for the coverage, gents! Also, Andy, hair lookin great
this is the way
Barrett dropping gameplay spoilers for some side missions. Come on bruh... I wanna be surprised for myself.
Unfortunate that this game seems to have just as many if not worse bugs and performance issues as Fallen Order, but at least it seems like it’s still good. Might have to wait for a few patches before diving in. I would’ve thought with it being a sequel on better hardware and a bigger budget would’ve allowed them to launch it in a better state
Kinda reminds me a lot of Pokemon. That game as far as gameplay etc goes was amazing but the tech issues are fucked. I feel no matter how amazing the game is if it crashes and shuts on me mid game that has to stand for something. I feel this all contributes to accepting titles coming out early before they should. I get you love the game but it still has to stand for something in the grand scheme surely?
Not to be a hating ass hater but since everyone at kinda funny feels the need to translate what there 5 point scale translates to a more conventional 10 point scale, maybe you guys need to go back to the drawing board on that 5 point scale coming from a fan 😅
I want Kinda Funny's build because mine and many others are completely broken and unplayable on both pc and console. Please guys don't buy it, this game is cyberpunk levels of broken.
Every Triple A game that launches these days, seems to launch at the behest of shareholders say so, rather than the Devs say so. Money talks, but is it worth it. Look at Cyberpunk. Launch a game, especially single-player when it is ready to be consumed, not broken and have day 1 patches. The game industry has gotten lazy. Before everyone had the internet, the game shipped and could not be fixed later down the line with patches. This meant they had to work or sales would plummet. Sort this out "Game Industry"
