My M2 is Mineral Gray too. So happy the guy at the tint shop talked me into 20% . I had 35% on my 228 but that car was Sapphire Black with a black interior witch looked fine but 20% is much better

The windshield tint makes it look so much darker! If you have zero windshield tint, you can see straught through 20% at night and in daylight it’s a mirror

I got a 2017 Honda Accord Sport and I have 5% on everything including the windshield. Best decision I ever made. I love it

Looks good, I can't front...But congratulations, you are now a ticket magnet in my state...You couldn't go a week without getting one in Florida...Seriously though, looks real good...But my pockets just aren't that deep to rock tint to that extreme...Would if I could, but I can't :(

@@ThicWhips How so? No issues with the CMPD pulling you over for your tint? Obviously at 20% you're past the legal limit, and the car will not pass an NC State Inspection. Do you just factor the cost of removing and re-doing the tint annually?
I’ve never had a cop pull me over for anything on any of my cars. Sure..it’s not technically legal..but the police seem to have better things to do.
As for inspections, I cannot comment. Due to legalities. But no, I do not remove and retint my car every year. If that was the case I’d move 2 miles south to SC where there are zero inspections and you can do whatever you want lol
@@ThicWhips All good, thanks for the reply! I'm in the CLT metro as well, used to practice law and teach part-time at UNCC, so tint questions from clients/students were a constant. My experience is that if you get caught up with a legal issue involving tint that doesn't allow enough light through, there isn't much a typical attorney can do that will allow you to keep it. The D.A. is going to insist on compliance, which means having your tint stripped. I agree that at 20% you're not likely to be stopped/cited with the tint as the primary basis for the citation. Tint problems more commonly occur when you get pulled for something else, and the tint citation is included as a secondary infraction by the charging officer. Agree that CMPD isn't bad all considered, but if you get into the 'burbs, some of the less-busy PDs are looking for infractions with a sharper eye (Not going to name names, if you've lived in the area for a while you know where I'm at).
The laws are certainly frustrating, and your point about 35% not being dark enough to justify the cost/effort is well taken. They're the main reason I haven't tinted my 135i, even though it's a second car at this point. Admittedly my risk tolerance is a bit lower than most for obvious reasons. Love my old E88, unlike a lot of sports cars you can actually run it through a few gears without hitting under the jail speeds, and have a blast doing so.
Understand where you're coming from about legalities. Hopefully anyone else diving into the 20% pool does as well. Not trying to be confrontational at all, just noting that the OP has a point that isn't totally invalid. It's a shame that FL owners have to deal with that type of aggressive enforcement when they also have to deal with what to us would be 8-9 month long summers. FL heat has to be brutally hard on the interior of these cars.
Thanks for your work, have been going through your older vids. I'm at a point where I need to find a good indy shop for repairs (I've owned my '08 E88 since new, just crossed the 60K mile mark), and perhaps a bit more. Love the N55 M2s, not sure how they managed to make that engine sound so much better than the N54 (Out of the box anyway). Still kicking myself for not buying the M-performance exhaust for mine when they were still available...

I like the stock wheels tbh! I kept mine and have no plans on getting rid of them. If anything, I'm scrapping the Pirelli run-flats for a staggered setup.
Tint is illegal in California and no front license plate is illegal. So when I purchase my 2021 BMW M4 I can forget about Tint on the front windows.

Yeah! The 20% looks way better, I agree! 20% actually looks like something is on the windows to begin with. Don't get me wrong...if you have a black BMW with a dark leather interior and a 35% tint on top of a 70% factory glass....yeah, that looks awesome! But in this case putting the 45% on top of the factory glass and the having the light interior works against you when it comes to privacy. Good choice going with the 20%.👍

Ceramic tint is easier to see through at night than regular! I’d go with 20% all around, I had 15% all around (regular tint) and it was hard only it was raining and 0 street lights.

@@LawlessRaafay awesome!! I watched this video right before I went so I just got back home with 20% ceramic fronts, I drive a 370z which is terrible for blind spots and it came with 5% on the rear glass so I didn’t want to try 10-15% just yet, can you tell a difference between the two?

26708 CVC n 5200 CVC in California. Those cars would get stopped in a couple of days.
Need to check your state laws. Most states don't allow front window tint below the asi line.
My E90 is 5% all around + 30% full windshield and I looove it

It’s great tbh, blocks the sun enough so you don’t have to wear shades. Plenty of visibility at night.
Would you say going darker than 50% on the windshield is too dark? I have a white M550i limo in the back, 20% in the front and thinkin what to get on the windshield?

How much should a full ceramic tint job cost me a local place quoted me about $1k for 3m high quality stuff
That seems extremely high. I had my 750LI done for $550 for top grade tint.
Did my 750i ceramic for $620
getting all around 15% ceramic for $386
