Braum Reveal Breakdown For 2XKO

- Our first new challenger in quite some time, BRAUM has been revealed for 2XKO! He's got a ton of carryover from League Of Legends, cool new uses for his ice powers and Poro friends, and all sorts of excellent-looking gameplay bits to sink our teeth into thanks to a SECOND Dev video for Braum already dropping.

It has been quite some time since we got a fully new Character Reveal, and in my opinion we got a great one! How are you all feeling about Braum?
Braum sliding on his shield is also part of the lore on how he was sliding down a mountain using his shield.
Yea good call! This reveal was also a big reminder I should go back and play Song of Nunu.
The fact they gave him move that seem like a troll. Just get bonked on the head by a small creature.
He is going to be in a few highlights.
Yea there is a lot of love for the Poro stuff by the Devs here for sure. lol I'm cool with it personally, I think he looks great!
I wonder if we are getting the full cast of The Ruined King at this point. I'm definitely expecting Viego now. Thanks for the update!
I'd be down for that! Especially because Thresh was a villain in that game too, and I would be BEYOND stoked to see him make it in.
This character contrasts with other serious characters quite well making the whole roster more lively and diverse. need more friendly characters
For sure! LoL has a ton of goofy and unique charcters, would be such a shame if they only learn on the edgier more generic ones. I want some full on joke characters personally and I think there are many good choices from league to make it happen!

Agreed. And yea as much as I do like the picks so far, no more Big body slow and heavies for a while please. . . . 😂 Katarina coming back next would be a good one!
I just love his references to Legends of Runeterra, and his slide seems to be a reference to Song of Nunu.
I keep forgetting about Song of Nunu, I should play that game.... and yea the LOR references were pretty heavy too, a lot of named Poros and what not shown off in the gameplay.
Braum looks absolutely incredible. I might have my main duo (Illaoi / Braum) set for the entire game's lifecycle and we're only 6 characters in, haha.
@@GaiusQuintusforeal man. I’m not usually one to play big bodies in fighting games but I definitely wanna put some time into Braun when the alpha hits. He’s too good, they did an excellent job adapting him!
You forgot to mention that the pushup move is a reference to the ctrl+1 for Braum in league, where he also does a one arm pushup
also, the move you mentioned for the W skill could be a reference to Braum in ruined king level 3 ultimate where he does the same move at the end. The Poro toss could be a reference to the level 1 ultimate as well.
while the Poro ball itself is a reference to the card Fluft of Poros in Runeterra. the Poro with the hammer is a reference to the Mighty Poro card, which is summoned by Braum level up in Runeterra.
The sliding move is a reference to the slide in "The Raid" Runeterra cinematic.

Fair enough you are right! I found out after watching the trailer about some of the many LOR Poro references so next time I gotta do my homework more. lol

Braum looks maaaaaad fun. He seems like a pretty straight forward character to pilot so I think I'll be checking him out if I get into the alphalab. Have fun at Evo next week my guy!
He really does man, I'm impressed with his design. I'm not even typically a big-body player but he legit might be a champ I play when the game drops. And appreciate it brother, EVO will be great - and Alpha Lab not far after!
3 of the 6 atm are some BIG BODIES, I hope they chill out on that a bit. When playing a tag fighter of this form I wanna go brrr not having a bunch of clunkier slower cast members. And in league a lot of the “faster champs” like Kaisa Lucian Akali Lee Sin you get the idea are very popular to watch and play anyways
Agreed. I have no issues with the 3 we have so far, they are all solid additions - but frankly I think we have met the big body quota for the base roster already. lol But yea I think we are due some traditional rushdown and zoners for sure at this point!

Yea he really does. I think this is one of the 2XKO designs that is actually better than the original, Ekko is as well to me.
Have they stated how many champs the game will release with?
Jinx still has to exist, since I don't think they'd put all the work into animating her only to just throw it all away.
Plus, we've always said that Riot simply cannot release a fighting game without putting Vi in it....and if Jinx will be in it, that only gives more precedence for Vi.
So, while I'm not opposed to MF and Pyke, with both Vi and Jinx, that would make a starting roster of 8. Isn't that how many characters fighting games typically release with? At least Street Fighter likes releasing with that.
Guess we'll just have to wait to find out. Braum, meanwhile, looks absolutely fantastic. Slow, tough, impactful, and just a little bit trolly. I don't think you could ask for more.
I think the general thought is around 16 but that hasn't been confirmed by Riot. Jinx is confirmed still they have talked about her, and there is literally a mural of her and Vi fighting in the office where the 2XKO main team is located so hopefully that locks her in - if not now, definitely DLC later id say. and yea! the other Ruined king champs would be dope, especially Pyke I love that character and think he has a ton of potential for a fighting game
They gave Braum the Akuma finisher and I am still laughing

godamn he looks sick af, his gameplay reminds me alot of goldlewis from the guilty gear series, now that he is in the roster i really wish riot add my man udyr (or alistar but ehh) to the game
He really does, and your right on the goldlewis comparison too. Udyr would be sick! A great way to add a martial arts style character without being too vanilla. He's got way more going on than just dude who punches people, bring on the stance dancing!
this is absolutely irrelevant to all other discussion, but dang i wish they would smooth out his arms and lats so that the shadows weren't so harsh there. like, either have the lines textured there but not modeled or have them modelled but not lined cause having both harsh lines and cast shadows looks... kinda bad. i hate that i have this criticism because braum is my main and all time favorite character in league, aesthetics included. I really wanna like looking at him.
I think we are still a good year out from actual launch and it's pretty likely they will continue to clean up the visuals more and more! Things have come a long way in the last yar imo, and I think if that keeps up it's going to be crisp at launch!
Braum looks AWESOME funny enough I bet that he was the next champion and the moment the video dropped I KNEW I was a rich man ( it's only R50 lol)

I personally thought it'll be Ashe as the next character.
Well kinda close with this being a Freljord champion at least! Ashe could also be a great one still, very near and dear to me too as she was the first champ I made a video for on this channel.
