    Those are a nice 5 picks for $5s. You are right that the Series 1934 was the first Series without the Gold Clause, all Series 1928 FRNs did have the Clause, Series 1934 dropped it. Cool that you have those older Star notes, I have a current $5 and a $5 LT with a star.
    My favorite of your 5 in this video, believe it or not, the monochrome replacement note. My top 5 $5s, no particular order, my Series 1963 LT star note, Series 2017A star note with lower serial number (starts with 5 zeros), Series 1929 FRBN, Series 1934D Silver Certificate (double coolness of that big blue 5, and found in till at work), and Series 1934 Hawaii Overprint; a very close runner up is my Series 2006 prefix H Minneapolis Monochrome $5 note (very last Monochrome issue for $5s, but limited run for only 3 districts).

      C.O.T.C what's up brother. Thank you for your continued support of the channel and just consistent banter with me. Thanks for the confirmation on the 'Gold Clause' statement, and for the appreciation of my top 5.
      Your top 5 sounds like an assortment of exotic notes. That's a pretty gnarly collection you got going on there. Do I hear a future episode coming😮😊😅.
      Alright til next time. Keep it Legal. Keep it Tender...

      I would not consider my top 5 $5s exotic, just like my Brown seals. Thinking about a mini Series video for Generation 1 aka Series 1990, 1993, and Series 1995 notes and their security features. I have 3 of 4 of the $5s and all 4 of the $10s; have a $20, and $50 too, but those add up fast.

      @@collectingonthecheap56353that wasn't to be taken literally. I don't consider mine exotic either, and I have the exact same notes.
      Good luck with the series...

    I do like the ones with the blue numeral best and then the LGS. I haven't seen a 2021 five dollar bill yet. Nice

      A.P. morning brother. I guess great numismatician think alike. At least when referencing/ ranking $5 notes.
      Yeah brother it took me forever to spot Series year 2021 notes. I see them all the time now, both $1 & $5 notes. Keep looking I'm sure your search shall end soon...

    I thought I was the only one who loves a little wear on my older bills, it give it character, plus let me know that the bills was used in its time and how many people are left alive who handle such notes. New bills especially older ones comes across as fake because they haven't been use but I understand why people prefer clean notes because it shows the smallest details when people looking at them and are nicer.

    • @legaltender1980
      @legaltender1980  Před měsícem

      You're right a little dirt/ grit definitely gives the note some character. It's like the subtle random strains of gray hairs in a man's beard. It gives him that distinguished he's probably seen some things in his day look. A little extra added to the order 😅😊😅 ...

    I see you missing the red seal 5 dollar note, but yet I do find it interesting to see the 5 change through the years or when multiple notes where in circulation at one time. I always wonder how U.S. Citizens didn`t get confused when spending such notes, I know I would. LOL

    • @legaltender1980
      @legaltender1980  Před měsícem +1

      Hey brother. I do have a Red seal $5 note. Actually multiple ones, but this is my top 5 $5 list, and the notes shown just happen to be ranked above the US Note $5 bill to me for whatever reason.
      Regarding the multiple currency types being out in circulation at the same time and spent by the public. I'm sure the majority of people was only looking at the monetary value at that time for purchasing goods, or service. There was probably a small group that did back then what we currently do now. Collect, or appreciate the aesthetic of the note. Just my two cents. (That was a numismatician joke 😂😂😂)...

    The entire monochrome series started with A in 1996, and lasted through K 2006A $100 note issued in 2013 due to issues with the Series 2009 J issues for the modern series not being resolved until 2013 and kicking off with Series 2009A in 2013 with prefix L.

    How do you feel about $3 bills? Are they as queer or queerer than a $2 bill?

    • @legaltender1980
      @legaltender1980  Před měsícem +3

      Well I wouldn't say, or call the $3 denomination queer. That's kinda derogatory to a country's preference regarding their denomination selection and not to mention a certain group of people.
      I acknowledge and appreciate all people and denominations...
      Thanks for supporting the channel though...
