- Today we are exploring inside an abandoned Japanese Elementary school hidden away in the mountains of Shikoku Japan. This school has one resident... And he has given me the keys for the day!

See you all in the comments below!
Awesome last video too
Hey, a video idea! It would be nice to interview some of the students who went there and get their reaction on your videos. and perhaps bring them back there.
Love the video. Would love some more night time live streams around Japan.
It was great to see the school fully, Yochan arranged it very well. And the sounds of nature. Brilliant.
older japanese schools like this strike a weird balance between the nostalgic feeling of school and the nostalgic cozy feel of old, warm colors, everything wooden feel.
I went there today, based on these videos. Well worth the trip.
Great walk-through of the place. Dude's living the dream. Wish I had that much space to devote to my passions. So much room to make stuff!
Norm! Thank you for bringing this on one of the longest days I've experienced at work. No joke, I was searching on CZcams to watch something while staring at my outlook for some excitement lol Cannot wait for this to start!
Me too. I was sitting in my work truck bored as all hell and this came up. Love it.
This place looks like an excellent relaxing getaway. I'm glad he went back for some more videos.
The view from the decking is insane
I love all the non existent AC units. Makes it feel really open and non modern.
The secret passage was amazing,i loved that.
I'll never get tired of seeing this place
Yochan is such a talented person, you are so lucky that you met him 🥰
I really found the cicadas' sound very relaxing, don't know why.
Climbing wall! Yes!
I'm absolutely here for the mini dives into this little hidden gem! My 2022 Japan trip got postponed until March of 2023 sadly but hey! Atleast I'll get there eventually 😜 and this is definitely on my list! On the plus side, I have more time to plan/save up. So I'm planning on staying 20 days instead of 14 for the tour. Then after the tour is over, going exploring to a bunch of the places you have shown in your amazing videos. Being from Arizona I'm all for the hiking and exploring of places and I'm so so excited to see what the beauty Japan has to offer 💜
Much love from Arizona ❤️❤️
I LOVE the sound of Cicadas
The song Nutshell by Alice in Chains kept playing in my head seeing how peaceful everything is here. The lyrics aren't a match, but the nice pace of the song is. That is one amazing studio :)
Pretty much every anime/manga set in rural locations features the kids walking or taking a regular public bus (e.g. Non Non Biyori), so yeah, I'm not surprised. Do they even have any school buses in Japan?
What a great video. So many useful ways of using the old building, but I have to say, it is the views that really captivate me.
The school has a nice view and luckily it's still in "use" and even gets you good coffee ☕
OMG, those mats are so nostalgic, it's crazy they're still being used !
Ah this was so great! I think seeing that courtyard area full of dragonflies in the evening would be such an incredible sight. Yo-chan really has created such an amazing space for himself there, and it's awesome that he's been able to do all that work to share it with his community and the travellers that make their way to the area. Would be super cool to be able to get to visit there one day! Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes walkthrough!
I think it would be really cool to live in a place like this. I remember those car rugs! Dragonflies and lizards are a bonus for sure!
This school reminds me off the older half old school building made in the 80s in the center of my city. It is still being used but with its age and patina (and COVID) with little people inside the offices, the adjacent building connected to it via skywalk is more used and has newer annexes and office buildings.
I love this place and must get coffee here. Again there’s something that really speaks to me about taking an abandoned building and repurposing it. There’s an old Sears building in Memphis that has been amazingly repurposed as apartments restaurants it even has a school. Amazing.
Cool to get an idea of the layout and additional amenities. Repurposing buildings into community centers like this would be great for the US.
I hope I can go to Yo-Chan’s place to hangout with you two. I’d drink lots of coffee and try everything lol.
What a beautiful place. Yo-chan did well for himself, good for him.
What a week, bit late to this party but can finally sit down on a Friday afternoon, take a rest and watch this video unfold.
amazing nature, beautiful and peaceful. I would like to spend some time there
Yo-chan has an amazing place. I love it. As someone who works with mixing paint as a job I see all the peeling/rusting walls and beams and I just want to restore it all with fresh paint (no disrespect meant!!) 😆 The school is incredible though. What a cool life he has.
Such a beautiful tour of a unique place, I would love to visit 💜
Idk if it's the higher than normal quality or if I'm just a little emotional today but that first peek of the mountains at 2:57 and the reveal of the range almost brought me to tears.
Yohei has done an awesome job with that school.
I really have to visit this place... purely for the coffee of course, and all of the other 1-million-and-1 interesting things around it.
Well this was a sneaky little drop. Glad me and Cinzia saw it. But looking very forward to it
i think i have the same playmat at home. Amazing
Watching from Mallorca Spain. Late afternoon. Events in the space would be great.
totally in love with this place
I was just in Nagoro last weekend to check out the scarecrow village. Can’t wait to get out to this place next!
That cafe looks so cozy!!
This man's living the life ahah I'd love to live in an abandoned school, roasting coffee!! :P
Really nice to get a better feel for the internal geography
I hope we can see this place and your friend meet back in 2022
Nice nature outside
Yo-chan is my inspiration, thanks for sharing this more walkthrough style video
I wish I could immediately move to this place!
Koffee, music, cool people and the Japanese countryside - what else do you need really?
I could watch these videos for days. The sound of the cicadas is really nostalgic.
Missed the premiere :( Nice to see a more in-depth look into the school after all the other videos you've made about it.
Great tour of the place and really fun premiere experience with everyone. Can't wait to see the upcoming vids you mentioned :)
Great way to start my morning! Loved the little walk, and can't wait for more!
Interesting video footage.
such a chill video, this is a place i could spend years in
A lovely walkthrough is a great way to start my day! Love the walk through to get a sense of how the different spaces are connected and all the amenities! Hope you do indeed come back in the future, maybe explore the old paths to the school a bit more? :D
Always happy to see more of the abandoned school!
I would love to buy his coffee ^^ Was kinda jealous not to have a cup of it as i saw that in your previous videos. Still want some tho
This looks like a great place to spend the day. It has a good deal of functionality and things to do.
I would love hidden rooms and passages too!
Thanks norm for gives us the inside of the school!! what a place and beauty. Hope to see you again in the next stream~~
I love seeing the notification bell pop up! With time zone differences I rarely get to watch the premieres live, but I got to take a break from today's gardening project to sit with a coffee and enjoy....then forgot to comment earlier 🤣
Another great video. I love exploring vicariously through your videos.
So great !!
beautiful pace!
Thanks so much for the follow up Norm. You have the most underrated Japan based channel around. I love your work. Urbex content is my favourite, plus I'd enjoy so extra attention paid to some of the native wildlife of the areas you visit. 👍 From Australia.
This was such a great video. It must be so humid there, the cicadas are so loud too! Reminds me of Florida but with beautiful mountains
I'm watching from Sweden. Love this type of content, he has done something amazing with that school.
Thank you for the wonderful video and for chatting with everyone on the chatbox! It was fun and I have been wondering what else is inside that school so I'm glad you made another video. I'm excited for that Halloween video hehe I hope it's creepy or about haunted places again cause I love videos like those.
I subbed to this channel back when it first went live, and I can personally say I have no regrets! Though nothing will ever compare to the neverending livestream...
So nice to watch the Yo-chan series, truly incredible and inspiring, although this time you surprised me with those smart stickers!! I didn't know that kind of technology existed!
this place would give me a much more memorable stay than any other high star hotel. there’s just so much personality and thought in each room! would love to visit there someday 🤍🤍🤍
Really like this place, will try to visit for next trip for sure!
So glad i can see this on CZcams instead of walking around that spidernest to see it! Thank you!
Another Great Video.
Looks very Peaceful there.
😊
Such a neat place.
I caught this video after the premiere because I was at work, which I just started this past Monday.
Watching from California, still in bed before starting the day. Thank you for a walkthrough; I was wanting to see the rest of the building last time you were there!
Norm, thanks again for the subtitles! It is always appreciated when you can. I am not hearing impaired but in order for me to truly understand any type of content I prefer subtitles. This method has allowed me to learn so much and increase my vocabulary!
Great video Norm, I loved the tour of Yo-Chan’s place. I’d love to go out there and explore the surrounding countryside
I wasn't able to watch it live. However at the moment I'm watching the video is 11:30 am El Salvador time. Thank you for the great content and greetings to Yoh-chan
Thanks!
I’ve seen all the yo-Cham vids and I still like seeing this place.
Amazing place! Would love to visit sometime!
This is such an awesome video. So happy to see what yoxhan has created. The weather there in the summer would be what the weather is like for us here all year long in Jamaica. I would really love to visit there
I'm sorry, I got the notification, but was way too tired to watch on release.
The walkthough was great. The school looks bigger on the outside than what it actually is.
Speaking of events - a shamisen event there. The sound would travel for ages.
Norm: "I may make this a yearly thing".
Me - you have a home away from home ^_^
It has everything you need - a great friend, coffee, exercise equipment and fresh air.
Great walk around tour of this amazing school house. How far does リョウちゃん have to drive for grocery shopping?
Your videos always give a video game walkthrough vibe.
Really enjoy these guided walk tour videos!
Looks amazing, I would love to go there one day!

Hellvetttaaaa
@@Azubjourni Hahaha! XD
I love this place
It would be nice to interview some of the students who went there and get their reaction on your videos. and perhaps bring them back there.
I see that you really do love that place! I have watched the videos prior to this. I think you just like to make videos at this school. Great place and I can see why...
This really is beautiful and nice use of the abandoned spaces always seen the typical ones from chris broad xD
Watching from New Zealand. Would love to visit the café one day soon!?!
11:42 My state flag on that shirt!!
It would be fun to know how it was to go to that school, not sure if you would be able to find anyone that went to it these days.
The trek to school and so forth must have been a challenge, but there must be some interesting stories there..
I've watched all the vids you have posted on the school...the one thing that eludes me is exactly where it is(?)...I found his coffee at the mall place he supplies and I have seen pics of the cafe at the school online, but there is never an address. There is an Airbnb on Shodoshima that is my go-to Japan hangout spot and Kagawa is right across, and there is a ferry from Shodo to Takamatsu. Would love to day trip to the cafe, but I'll be damned if I can find it!
From now on every time I hear cicadas I will remember this school😅
I wonder where are the alumni of this school now, what would have been their reaction if they've seen this video, must have been nostalgia
Hiii norm from UAE love yours explore videos
This member of #theTrifecta slept through the notification 😂 so now to watch over breakfast. Love Yo-chan's home and looking forward to the tour. Edit: The school's always such a sensory adventure. The forest plus roasted coffee smell is really, really something I want to experience. Ooo, dragonfly swarms would be so awesome. Loved those playmats as a kid, still do really. Happy hedgie on the door of the playroom. That's my morning off to a brilliant start. Have a great week, Norm.
It was nice to get a tour of the whole school. I was indeed wondering where the shower was 😆
Ok, time for my comment after the video. YOU ARE AMAZING! Love your videos, but I must say I needed more hahaha Can't wait to see the live streams but please make sure you take your time, we know how burned out you got last time. Now, how do we get the secret pigeon Patreon team to this abandoned school for a sleep over? lol
