You are absolutely right the JKIA in nairobi needs to be world class sgr is better I really hope the govt takes note and commissions a world class airport Kenya being a tourist destination. I remember coming from Joburg and Doha and I couldn't help but feel depressed.

@chrisamoi8663 They have been planning to do that for the last 20yrs but every new government elected eats that money, since the VIP's have their section which is okay for them. So no, they will not be doing that any time soon.
I felt like you were holding back about the airport but comes with your role. As a Kenyan I can freely says it sucks! Our taxes could have been used better. From the poor arrivals to air conditioning, having to use stairs esp for disabled people, not so clean toilets, walking in the rain when you arrive… argh. Good video though
I do understand your point. Arrival wise, its awful!!! One of the worst arrival terminal I have seen in the world! It literally a disgrace to the country.
With that being said, the new terminal is a big upgrade. Is it perfect? NO, the security section is slow and bad and the design of the terminal is to narrow. BUT they finally have more store, lounges and shops and the design is much more modern and doesn't look like its still 1995.
I feel sad too why it's like this too much contrast btn departure and arrival !
I feel like Tanzania got the best Airport in East Africa

Well let's not judge here. The interior design is Fantastic and the hotel (Accommodation) you guys were in was... well, you know the word😃 but hope they will be maintaining the airport and improve on their building structures/design coz that's where majority dislike about the new airport.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I actually appreciate the fact that the airport is open air. I obviously haven't spent more than a couple of hours at the airport but it's nice being able to walk around in the open as opposed to sitting inside all the time.

The terminal is plain and simple terrible! Not designed to accommodate the amount of passengers it currently gets now. Bring back the Greenfield Terminal!! New terminal is needed!

Ksh700m?? That is a lot of money. The internationals arrivals is a disappointment it was meant to be temporarily shelter, after massive fire that destroyed the international arrivals some years back and from the look of things it is kinda a permanent terminal.
That terminal needs to be a priority! Its bad for tourism.
Arrival terminal sucks alot looks like a camping tent in masaai mara. So disgraceful for my country. Security and airport staffs being under staffs is another shameful thing to be considered. It slows our check in to departure and arrivals 😡

@@DaveMani Just an observation that all government projects are currently costing ksh 700 million. For instance, State House is being renovated at Ksh 700m. Mombasa Road is supposed to be fixed at the same cost. I was just shocked to see the figure again. Sorry, my comment lacked context.
