Great review, very excited to pick this thing up in the near future. One question though, does the sleep tracking offer the option of optimal wake up? My Pebble and xiaomi band both have this and I've grown quite fond of that feature!

Getting my Note 7 this Friday so I'm choosing this as my free option over the 256GB card. I already have a 32GB Samsung Micro SD so that plus the 64GB internal leaves me at 98GB total and that is extremely spacious. I have a Moto 360 watch that I love but since it's metal band I don't wear it to work out so this will be my fitness band on runs and at the gym. Awesome that they are giving out free products worth over $150.

How much usable capacity in gear fit 2?
I used to have a Fitbit but I had to get rid of it because it was giving me a rash on my wrist. My mom recommended I got a gear fit 2 because of the band. I LOVE IT! It is the BEST tracker I've ever seen. I definitely would recommend it.

Thought you did well on your video however, I felt that wherever you were recording your audio carried and echo and can be heard throughout the video. Perhaps a different location when recording, other wise I enjoyed your video.

Hi recently got the Gear Fit 2 a couple days ago. Been having an issue hopefully someone can help with. When I go out of range with my Gear Fit 2 and the Bluetooth disconnects from my Galaxy S7 it does not automatically reconnect when I'm back in range. I have to go to the Gear app and reconnect it to my phone. Didn't have this issue with my Garmin. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I love my original gear fit, it's taken one hell of a beating! I drop it daily and never even scratched it! Does anyone know if it's worth the upgrade? I'm thinking this or the S2.. the S2 just looks a little more fragile for what I do daily.. any ideas would be great!

Just got one for 20$ which is a good thing because it pretty helpful with the music and notification without using my phone to check. Beautiful thing

I just got one, one problem it has is the floors climbed count is way off. I only took like 3000 steps on flat surfaces and it says i climbed 30 floors already..Not a big deal i guess, as long as the steps are accurate i guess.

No, it has GPS tracking built in. No need to take your phone out on runs. One of the best features of this device IMO.

Can't decide whether to get this or the fitbit charge HR. I'm a Martial Arts instructor and I need it to stay on, but want something that accurately tracks steps and calorie burn.
I've had the charge HR 1 (the one without the touch display) for 1,5 years now I've never had an issue with it falling off, the step count from my experience has been really good but I never trust calorie counts on these things, doubt they're very accurate

I have had many problems with this my most recent was it burning my hand
hey there something seem to be wrong with gear fit 2. The Cal burnt count appears to be v high always. 2500 steps 1100 Cal! Also every morning before I wear it the Cal count is already 500+ without even wearing it. Is there something I have not set right or not understanding correctly. The step count also seems mis matched. I just used for two days. And not taken in water.
I think the watch tracks inactive calories (the ones you burn by just living) as well as active calories, which Is why the number seems a bit high. Hope this helps, have a great day!
I'm not to sure about how the gear fit 2 works but I know for a fact that VivoFit measure in Kilojoules not calories maybe that could be the same
I usually just ignore what the gearfit 2 tells me and just look at my sync s health app and those calories that it tracks should be more accurate👍

Does this receive texts and could it track your phone if you lost it?
It can receive texts but I don't think it can track your phone, although there is a feature on there that makes your phone ring so that you can locate if you misplaced it e.g. in the house somewhere.
It uses gps. You can ring your phone to help find it. Also you can show it's gps location with a full address and everything pretty neat.

It is water resistant up to 1.5 metres. ffs some people are dumb. Go read the specs on the Samsung site.
I just wanna have something that could tell me how much calories i burn during my exercise, lifts, hitt and walking so I can add up to my food. I really wanna know how much i brun does anyone know a watch that could do that for me but being cheap?

I hope gear fit 2 would be my pick as you could use it for day to day activity and like a replacement for watch.You can buy a 64 gb sd card that would suffice for your memory space with modern cloud apps like google drive
Yea you're right. Im using a 64gb in my note 4 now and I haven't used half of it. So I can get a memory card easily

I asked myself the same question... Currently on the note 5 and i am maxed out with storage space@ 32GB. With the bump to 64 onboard i think that will more than be what i need, but if i do need a little more i can always get a nice high read/write SD for cheap. I feel like we will NEVER be able to use 320 GB on a smart phone no matter what you do. Also i just picked up a Moto 360 2 so the Gear fit2 is sounding less appealing to me. But think about it, for free youll use this much more then using that absurd SD card theyre pushing, so im going with the Fit! Just My opinion!!

don't like the way you have to force that clasp when replacing the band and the delicate build isn't great at all but over all a decent fitness tracker - certainly better than most out there for the price.

No, it isn't designed for swimming, but you can get it wet in many other scenarios.

No. It's IP68 which means you can keep it in water that is 1.5m deep for 30 minutes.
