As a 74 year old child of the 60s in southern Cal, one of my bucketlist items would be to hang out with Brian when he loses his psychevirginity. Great book, brother!

fantastic outstanding pod... also from a psyco virgin lol... my eyes and mind have been blown wide open to all the stress and ok bs if you like all over the years trying to get my uneducated head around all this stuff... i was litterally scratching at the surface as i knew and felt it was something i just did not know what or couldnt put my finger on it then i started watching brian in many many pods and ive watched hundreds now but it all makes sooooooo much more sense once someone opens the door for you... you dont get to hear or learn about this stuff anywhere else, from school to life... i thankyou so much, im an athiest and i love history and this is so refreshing... its like i knew i was looking for some answer, its so obvious i could not see it... brilliant stuff absolutely brilliant guys, thanks so much for what you do and for todays advancement that we can share these topics now... why you have not got multi millions of views is beyond me

This was a beautiful conversation. I haven't touch mushroom/psychadelics since I was a teenager when I usually did them to party. I am slowly starting to get myself into the mindset to experiment again and treating them as an absolute sacrament and only planning to do them a couple times a year. It's a beautiful thing to prepare for.

As one of the "tail end of the hippy" generation, born in '60,, I came to the psychedelic experience, with the armour of Watts, Trungpa, Tarthang Tulku Namkhai Norbu, Evans Wentz and Blofeld among many others. To quote Ram Dass or his guru: "Drugs can take you to the feet of Jesus, but they won't leave there". The reason of course being, that you have never left the feet of Jesus or Buddha etc...in the first place.

I was raised in the LDS religion (Planning to Remove My Records) but I LOVED studying the Bible;
Just a thought thinking of how it seemed that the ultimate Euphoric experience that has “happened” in the Bible, is of mainly Women weeping bathing Jesus’s feet with kisses and tears a like, Mourning and Wailing at His feet wishing they could remove him from these awful agonizing Death. An experience like that lasts only but a moment. Just as the counter Perspective claims the opposite. Medicinal Healing Plants which I have heard of; cause such an experience that leaves the soul feeling timeless, Unconditional LOVE, and the widest Perspective you’ve ever known.

So impressed with this guy! I've been watching him on a bunch of podcasts and am diving deep into his book. Pretty much love his academic approach while still being open-minded enough to explore every avenue available. His is research is totally lifting the veil on this subject in following in the footsteps of Ruck, and Wasson.

He said on Rogan's podcast that exists some kind of prejudice on the scientific/academic world over hallucinogenics consumption. Even though he read about those experiences in a young age and he was looking forward to investigate this subject, he decided to not incur on the consumption of those substances so his work would be more respected.
I'm glad he hasn't in a way, makes him a more credible ambassador to the unbelievers
