I've purhcased the course "Intro to 3D Cartoon Rendering with Blender" and so far I've found two red flags: 1. The description of the course is misleading. The teacher in his own words conveyed that there will be step-by-step guidance on modelling which is not true. He simply has you import a already made mesh and you are left to shape the mesh. You only get one reference image and the sides are guessed by him. So it's not really noob friendly as he puts it. 2. For the price I expect high quality and walkthrough of each and every step. Instead, he misses out few things when he does so well covering the basics.
Minjeong Shin's class is very basic Most of the course is talking about modeling, sculpting If you know these, you don't need to buy For materials, there are only relatively simple paintings (few nodes) Most of the courses are mainly for novice sculptors (There is a hair and eyes making course which is quite special, it depends on whether you want to spend more than 100 dollars to see that)
Hi friends, I already bought 3D Cartoon Render course, and very happy to learn from it But the issues are, why the platform where I watch the course is so slow and not responsive ? it's like heavy to load the videos, my Internet speed is fine, only got delay when I load course videos from Coloso platform ? Shall I watch it using VPN ? you guys have solutions or same issues ? Disclaimer : I really love watching Kumo 3D Anime character timelapse, and want to learn it so much by buying that course. Late comment but the issue has to do with the software you download to watch the video. The courses on the site require you to download software to encrypt the content. It's like a screen watcher and it disables functions on your PC.
you need to have blender knowledge. this course is focusing on mostly shading. of course it will show you from basic but in head and body making, he is starting with the base meshs that he gave it to you and then he sculpt to match with the ref. Plz noted that this is Intro to 3d cartoon rendering, so the instructor assumed you already know the basic.
its kinda sad that you just read a script (found another video in which nearly the exact same was said), since i do want to know more about this course. and since you just read a script i cannt really take your words serious, but i really want to find a review about the first course
Is second one suitable for beginners in blender? I'm familiar with 3d and texturing, I make vtubers. Buy I wonder if it's okay for a beginner to start it? 😅 Thank you in advance
I will say the only down I give the course is that my expectation was to learn to make a head and body base mesh. Here the course already provides the base mesh already so you only get to add the small details here and there and the texture. Since the name of the course is called "Intro to 3D Cartoon Rendering with Blender", they assume you already know how to make a head and a body (hands, feet, etc) TLDR: If you want to learn to make an anime base mesh, this is not the course for that. This course will provide how to model hair, eyelashes, clothes, texture paint, use shader nodes, animation and compositing.
@@odenkaz I am a bit afraid that it's all a bit surface level, but I am mostly in it for the shading, compositing and theory. Do you think he went deep into those subjects, or did he keep it very simple?
i really just want to rant in a place with more people that might agree, i prefer 3dcg anime over 2d and we need more shows like rwby. i dont care its "controversial" bc it straight up shouldnt be. 2d-stuck ppl are reeeally getting in the way of me getting to see 3d anime be produced and i often kinda get pissed at that behaviour.
