Ahh this reminds me of my childhood we had a huge garden of apple trees and as i would claim those trees to eat the apples i would ALWAYS hear the Cuckoo that was the true sign that the winter was over.
When we were on Inisheer this summer, there were a couple of them flying around. I kept being reminded of the Pink Floyd song 'Grantchester Meadows,' and giggling like a Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
I am sure I heard a cuckoo at 4.15 am this morning. But it was slightly faster and went on for longer in two separate bursts. I live on the outskirts of York and have never heard one here before.
One of these has just taken up residence on the island. Don't be fooled by the mini version they put in clocks. If an actual, full-size, spring-loaded cuckoo shot out of something on your wall, you'd know about it.
Every bird is in decline all over the world, people keep cutting trees. Every single plot keeps being "put to use" in the macro and the micro. Here in Jaipur we are having campaigns to save sparrows, owls, and pretty much every bird, but we can't ask people to just chill because that would be unethical 😓
@@sarab3888 Iol I dont think that's what the picture means. It's just how birds feed their babies. Mother bird regurgitates the food out and lets the chicks eat through the Mother's mouth
@@ejmtv3 Buddy, i have birds i know how they feed. The cuckoo babies get bigger than the other chicks and push them out killing them. The (non cuckoo) parent birds then feed the now only cuckoo chicks left in the nest. Now raising chicks that are not their own, not by choice but by instinct.
I did not know that cuckoos are real birds as well besides the toy ones from cuckoo clocks. I thought that they only had cuckoos that are cuckoo clocks. And they make the same noise as the ones from cuckoo clocks.
They are real birds, alright! My wife and I were on the Irish island, Inisheer, and there were a couple flying around overhead. I took some video, hoping that their calls would get recorded, but it was a bit too windy. So, when I edit the video, I am going to have to use another source of cuckoo. Sounds cuckoo, right?

reminds me of my childhood visiting my grandpa's house, calming, serene, and just cuckoo's sound all day long
One of the best bird sounds ever!
Not when you're hearing it all day and night from 3am..
Used to hear these a lot in the UK back in the 80's to early 90's after that I rarely' if ever, have heard one since.
I still hear them every morning around 4-7:)
Insecticides & concrete 'gardens'
Your hearing probably sucks
🥺😳😖 we humans have no right to extinguish ANY species! Religion should preclude that especially if it claims to value the Creator; obviously NOT!
I heard one outside right now. Along with what sounds like a mourning dove.

Impossible, at night it would be one of the owl family

Who you callin' cuckoo?! I ain't crazy!!!
Real cuckoos make the same noise as from cuckoo clocks.
Well, haven't you seen cuckoo clocks before? Besides cuckoos that are real birds, they have them in Switzerland.
Are these birds in decline? I remember hearing them often when I was a kid, but now that I think about it, haven't heard or seen one for years.

I've never heard of a real cuckoo or seen one before, but I've seen a cuckoo clock and heard of it before. Have you seen a cuckoo clock before, Andy?
Your patter is shite, give it a rest man.
Lucky you
Sounds like Cuckoo Clock
i like cucos
was this screenshot?
also, *wonders what the heck was happening at **0:10**?*
Cuckoo birds don't build nests. They lay their eggs in other birds nests pretty much forcing them to raise the babies.

Please can I use this as a background sound in a video I am making? I will mention you in the credits?
OK why not
thank you very much.It will be a while before I use it as I am doing stop motion
Why do you want to use this as a background, Karen?

hello. i was wondering if i could use this bird call in a promotional PowerPoint for tourism purposes. Please get back to me as soon as possible.
What are you talking about?
This was recorded from a clock and looped, every chirp is identical
this is not cuckoo sount, it's a different bird, which looks is like criw
🕒
create as phone call
Are you kidding? You can't have a cuckoo noise on a phone call, you have it on a cuckoo clock.
@rozsmom The clock sounds like a cuckoo.
The sound from a cuckoo sounds just like from a cuckoo clock.
Canadians don't know this bird ))))
i want to know the noise it's chick makes? Anyone?
I don't know.

This sound is irritating me right NOW.
I don't find it bloody irritating. I love this sound.
Yes it is irritating when there is one outside your window cuckooing every day and night from 3am
