I was shot in a drive-by Sept 21 2018. I was hit with a .45 in the stomach on my left side. The bullet hit my colon , intestines and liver. Blood and shit was squirting out. I walked in the emergency room two weeks later I woke up. I had to wear a bag for 8 months and had to have a surgery to close my stomach up. I've had 12 surgeries since then. My last one on April 24 2019. I've healed somewhat. I'm working. And my life is a total 360 of what I was living. The change starts with you. I was living wild

2015, my grandmother passed in July. The morning after her 98th birthday. I was the last person to see her alive after I put her to sleep. Told her I love her and gave her a kiss on her forehead. Never knew that would have been the last time.
Never cried at anyone else dying before.
That same year on Christmas morning. I finally got in contact via telephone with my aunt on my father's side. The first time contacting anyone from his side of the family. I've never met my father due to him not being able to enter my country. Not like he was interested as he never once called or tried to reach out. I've known people that have lived in his country and knew him. And through them I got in contact with his sister.
My only hope of ever meeting was to know his side of the story and to show him that I'm doing a way better job as a father than he ever did. Also to at least let my kids know that no matter how messed up it is, they have a lineage on my side as well.
So she begins to ask for my name and such. Then goes on to say that my father mentioned that he had a son in my country, on his death bed hours before he passed away. And he told her that she should try to reach out to me. That shit flored me. Can honestly say that I've never been the same since 2015.

As a veteran, I can identify what OG is saying and his emotions. In reality. Gang life is similar in camaraderie as the military. You eat with these guys, play, have fun, gamble, fight, help one another. One goes down, after being with on for three, four, ten years and they're gone in a horrible way. Yeh. You're good OG. Most people aren't built for gang life.

@Donkey Bellerin I don't count the police. They're bullies. All police are corrupt. Even the so called good ones. Honest ones. The reasoning, they turn a blind eye to un called for violence against the citizenry. They turn a blind eye to theft, drug abuse, alcoholism within their ranks. They turn a blind eye on the violations of our civil rights and the purgery they commit in court and evidence tampering, planting.
They do it (the so called good/honest cop) to protect their profession..
Police really believe the mantra, "If you're not a cop, you're little people."

Same way the street dudes do it to honour the code, and to protect what they love.
Only difference the POLICE swore an oath of honesty and integrity...
