    Thank you for your advice. I’m an independent artist myself. I’ve been selling my music since 2019, but didn’t have a lot of support from my fans. I think it’s about selling it right to the public which is why I want sign up for music publishing on Ditto. I’ve been emerging since 2017 and I started just releasing my music without it published. Now I’m gonna be working at a full time job , I’ll get enough income. I realise now to have a better music sale, it would be good for me to do publishing because then you can reach out to more audience and it looks professional. You also get royalties.

    Thanks for the info Charles. What's the best way to approach a larger publisher like Sony with your song/s? Do they typically accept demos or do you just have to put your music on CZcams and let a publisher approach you if you're lucky enough that they are somehow exposed to it?

    Hey Charles, first of all great video - very clear and to the point. I had a question i was watching another video where the guy said when you get the publishing deal you would need to transfer the copyright to the publishing company. Is this a different type of copyright? or is this incorrect information - Just trying to see what limitations going with a publishing company has in regard to songwriter copyright. Thanks

    • @CharlesCleyn
      @CharlesCleyn  Před rokem +1

      hey carl, i think that might be a different copyright, when you get a publishing deal, you might give up a lot of your "publishing" but i've never heard of giving up your copyright. i mean, you can. but then you're saying someone else wrote the song really, right?

    What would be the best approach for a indie songwriter getting ghost writing opportunities? Say if someone had 100+ finished songs just doing nothing. Do you reach out to publishers? Labels? up coming Artist's?
    I'm not a singer, and write for my band, so some get produced, but have so many songs I write that don't, Ideally I would be able to monetise all these songs I am making.
