- Maria Caulfield, the women's health minister, has told Sky News she "absolutely" apologises to women who have been impacted by poor care, and says "maternity services have not been where we want them to be".
She added: "Mums should be getting a better experience than they were, and often that leads to safer births and better outcomes."

14 years of Conservative government, and 5 Prime Ministers later ……. Nothing. 😡😡
Blair introduced all the pointless management positions that have ruined the nhs not the conservatives. It’s also Labour supporters that have wasted millions on inclusion and diversity classes and managers pal.
Yes, it's definitely not the tories allowing people to dodge taxes that pay for it and if they can't fix it in 15 years then what's the point of having them?
more gaslighting by another torie
They could start by bringing back anti natal classes I've watched my daughter have no anti natal care and can't believe the NHS doesn't offer this it adds reassurance and knowledge
The NHS is an absolute joke!
And they'll leave to go private or go abroad to countries where they might be paid an internationally competitive wage first chance they get. In Australia and Canada it's almost double the wage.
Medicine and healthcare suffers the biggest brain drain of any industry in the UK. The response of Government for the last decade, rather than to make the NHS a worthwhile employer, has been to brain drain Nigeria, India etc.
Lol No One Want UK Docs Consultants Surgeons Nurses in the EU and Most of the World Because in the Early 70s they Watered Down Tests Exams for all English Welsh NI and Later Scottish health Care Workers Leaving them Knowing Very Little And not being able to Do Much Why UK Health Care is 50 Years Behind the EU and Most of the World UK Health Care had better Standards in Nearly all Areas over 50 Years ago Also Why The World's Real Doctors Consultants Surgeons Nurses Refused to Call the Majority Nearly All of GBUK Medical Staff Real Later Forced to Do So By UK Old Family Lords UK Royals UK Military Chiefs And the UK Public Still after Centuries Can't Figure out Who Controls The UK And the World with A Few Evil Pals Lol
How do they make it worthwhile? Don’t say money.
We deserve better on every public service there is, 14 years these Tory things have had, give us a GE and go the Eff away permanently.
I gived birth 3 years ago in a hospital in Manchester and it was horrible the nurse was so rude no cooperative at all i was so upset and disappointed
I've experience of NHS midwifery it's butchery that destroyed my adult experience, made my life difficult ever since I can't see them without feeling sick I've learnt to fear the NHS as the rabid dog I'm phobic too
The reason the NHS is hanging on a cliff is beacause of a gross lack of investment in the wrong areas.
And a government who want it fully privatised.
Privatisation started under Blair.
The tories are now carrying that mantle.
It started way before Blair........NHS Trust status, late 80's was the starting gun, will have been planned either before or as soon as Thatcher gained power May '79?
PFI was another part, generally associated with Blair, but an idea of Ken Clarkes and introduced by Major's Government, and of course endorsed by Blair. ..........Don't get the idea I'm batting for Blair, I'm not, just like to know the TRUTH.
All decisions on day to day are made by the nhs staff. Stop blaming the wrong people.
this government feck it up the NHS please don't ever vote those muppets back in ever again they have destroyed this country
Why now? 75 years of betrayal. Been handing out visas primarily from India since ww2.
Oversea staff in the NHS is raising, but standards are dropping.
Don’t blame it on overseas staff… The NHS survives because of them, they are extremely experienced people. Blame your government.
@@danieladeavila575the government isn’t responsible for the day to day are they?
They just provide the funding.
Yeah because the English nhs staff leave either because they cannot do the job or they cry and leave due to burnout or stress
@@user-bn6pb9rz5ehhhj no evidence of that anywhere, what’s your source?
Maria always looks out of her depth.
whenever I see her, I'm reminded of her appearance on Question Time lol
she’s got blood on her hooves
The UK gov has lots money to send Ukraine but has no money for NHS, no salary increase for nurses. Other EU countries do much better specially Germany does the best to its citizen.
Puss off! They get over £170 billion a year, more than enough to do a good job. Blame the staff for what the staff do.
The average nurse gets £36k + a year, the average taxpayer gets £24 k a year. Do the math ingrate.
Our local maternity unit that had served the community for decades, was closed down ,so now ,have to travel out there area to give.birth, why did this happen,
the moneys all going on ‘protecting your democracy’ elsewhere, it’s definitely not being laundered in the latest PNAC proxy war 😂
This is down to bad managers and poor staff performance.
Politicians aren’t in the wards are they?
This presenter should sitting at the job centre
Yeah right only words . My missus been down in hospital had appointment 32 week pregnancy booked for 11 o clock had to wait untill 1 yo be seeing. Only words
Needs to be removed
I had to give birth by cesarean because they were short staffed. I am not weak willed, it was 24 hours of torturous hell (that I do not have the space to go into here) before I submitted and that left my body in a mess. My experience leads me to question if they (NHS) have our best interests at heart? For the record ladies If I were transported back in time I would still have my beautiful son but I would choose my hospital wisely or / and get a doolar or / and have a home birth. Motherhood is the most awsome gift.
omg turn down the treble on this awful presenter
If they got less maternity pay, then that money could be spent on better care in the first place 🤷🏻♂️
If they didn’t get pregnant in the first place, the costs would be zero. Everyone’s a winner.
