GREAT upload - with Crerand as usual flying around at terrifying speed, Charlton as always after 1966 bringing the game to a dead stop every time he got the ball, and George displaying (at times) his astonishing brilliance. Also great to see John Fitzpatrick - a wonderful player lost soon afterwards to injury.
If we didnt know better this match had the look & style of 1958. Quiffy hair, apart from the 5th Beatle & strips that looked in the 50s. Three years later footballers were Pop stars, Charlie George had hair over his shoulders & Refs still looked pre war. Liverpool trainer Bob Paisley. I wonder how he got on...
George Best You are a Fantastic Football player You are the Best George Best Good bye the Belfast boy World legend Maradona Cruyff Pele George Best is the Best
Much better football then. You only have to look at the league table to see how great the competition was. None of the fake crap we see today where 2-3 clubs corner the talent market backed by massive sovereign wealth or corporate funds and its a two horse race from the opening game. Not only that these were ordinary people with talent playing a game the people were fanatical about. Not physical freaks conditioned legally or illegally with cutting edge medical science and with kit personally tailored. It can't get more removed from the people who used to adore it so its become a backdrop rather than a central feature of peoples lives. Corporations and the marketing men are really great at one thing....destroying everything they get to control. People who think todays game is anything to crow about really need to have a rethink.
МЮ над Ливерпулем в послевоенное время имел плюсовую фору в очных встречах в следующих десятилетиях: 50-е, 60-е, 80-е, 90-е, 00-е и нынешнее десятилетие.
Tavy@ back in the days when footballers were real men. Eh. Goal keepers diving at feet with no gloves on and just there bare hands! Players with no shin guards on or any fancy crap. No diving and rolling around as if they had been shot! It was a good game and the way best collected that ball then put it away was brilliant. But i thought bobby charlton was brilliant in midfield. He always is. And a would say he was the greatest midfielder in the world for 12 years. Since 1960 to 1972. He was awe some. The way he just glided past players then those long 50 yard passes right to there feet and short passes to! But alot of fans believe after the european cup win in 1968 sir matt should of build a team around george best who was 22, and charlton who was 31. But with 5 years still left in him easy. Sir matt had to clear out at least 5 or 6 players its as simple as that. No ifs or buts! And looked what happend 5 year later they had no best, law, and charlton and were relegated!!!! That is a hard one really!!! But anyway that was a good game to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent comment 👍..I couldn't add to the accuracy, because unfortunately it's so true!
Absolutely right, what the corporation’s have done to football is criminal and many of these so called footballers are very much overrated…….
