BMW F30 320i Leaking Top Coolant Hose B48 Engine Replacement

- Hey guys.
just a quick tutorial on how to replace the top coolant hose that runs from your expansion tank to manifold. this is apparently a very common problem if you have a B48 engine.
the part is not expensive( I bought mine from Goldwagen).

2022 I had an issue with that hose, but got it replaced at BMW (apparently there was a recall for those specific hoses).
Right now my expansion tank is leaking, so will be replacing that tomorrow.
Fortunately they are not that expensive. I bought one from GW and it was about R400. Thinking that the GW pipe was faulty, I went the following day to BMW and bought an OEM pipe was R1100, so almost three times as much as GW but still not too expensive.

@@mdworkshop3919 That’s true, when I asked for a quote sometime last month they quoted me that amount because I initially thought that’s where my leak was coming from. To my surprise it was the expansion tank, which I’ve replaced. But now the thermostat gave in and in the most weirdest way haha. Hopefully itll be sorted this week because I’m still waiting for my claim to be processed.
Ahh mine just went yesterday! she is in the workshop at BMW :/
And it's such a quick and easy DIY...but the main thing is to have this sorted, you don't want any cooling issues, especially with a BMW.

Hello, I also had this pipe break and changed it, but my wife noticed later that this pipe was leaking water and gave an error saying the engine was hot 100 meters before she got home because there was no antifreeze left.
I changed it, added antifreeze and bleeded the air but now it is throwing water from the antifreeze tank, the temperature does not go below 110, it is not losing oil or oil is not seen in the antifreeze, there is no steam coming out of the exhaust.
By the way, is there a way to bleed air after filling my car with 330e or antifreeze?
Hey Bud. When you say throwing water from the tank, I'm assuming you mean the water is bubbling? Not to scare you but I would suggest you take your car for a compression test at your local radiator shop.

Mine failed around the same mileage (330i) but got it replaced at BMW back in 2022. Apparently there was a recall for those.
Now I’m dealing with a leaking expansion tank, will be replacing that tomorrow morning.
My is 254 000 and have to pour liquid every 3 days,i guess this is problem
