- ➤The DØ were a Finnish-French indie pop band founded in Paris in 2005. The band is composed of Olivia Merilahti (singer and musician) and Dan Levy (multi-instrumentalist). The duo has been backed on stage by three different drummers: Jérémie Pontier (2007-08), José Joyette (2008-09), and Pierre Belleville (since 2009). Their first studio album "A Mouthful" topped the French charts in 2008, making them the first French act singing in English to reach that position!
Their album "Shake Shook Shaken", released on 29 September 2014 in France, Benelux, Switzerland and Andorra, went to No. 7 on the overall French chart in its week of release, charting at No. 1 in the digital chart. The album was awarded "Rock Album of the Year" at the Victoires de la Musique in February 2015.

Fantastic live performance from this unique band, dearest Viktoria! I love Olivia's captivating voice, and in some parts, her vocal phrasing reminds me of traditional Irish and Celtic songs. But Celtic music has many different influences, especially from Scandinavia. It's very interesting that the band has Finnish and French roots, and also that they're singing in English. Great combination of the synth and guitars! Awesome lyrics that truly make us think! Thanks for introducing us to yet another musical treasure! I also like Olivia's glitter eyeliner! The DØ are refreshing, excelente live-band! Great range of vocals and vibes, timeless synths and non digital feeling electronica and feels like a real journey of discovering the bands sound. I came across them on KEXP on youtube and thought "this is tight". Discovered the album (Shake Shook Shaken) and thought I had to have it in my CD collection! A must of anyone in stuff like Ladytron, or enjoyed the Drive soundtrack - or even kids who are in to Billy Eillish will connect with it - good depth of sound and different sounds/samples and bangs hard in the headphones and car too. Olivia Merilahti's vocals are crystal clear and young-girl-like with Dan Levy doing all the instruments. The production is super clean and the whole impression is of pure simplicity and refreshing like a wave of Evian gushing from your speakers. Sending you lots of love and strength ~ Viktoria
