If she means the council when she says the corporation then she can count herself lucky the council done anything for her.
I have rats in my house with five and a half months and the council flat out refused to help cuting it's not a maintenance issue and it's the individual Tennant's responsibility to get rid of rodents.
After four months of having rentokill here and me blocking holes , putting down poison and putting down traps I applied for a transfer and the council rejected my application citing having rats in the house isn't grounds for a transfer.
I've done most of the work here to try to get rid of the rats but they're still here.
She's also lucky she had someplace else to go. I don't have anywhere to go. I have to live with it because I don't have anyplace to go.
Plus when I asked a local company to do a drain pipe and sewage pipe survey they asked the council to pay and the council said they couldn't do anything for me because they had no evidence of rats.
I have video evidence of rats in my attic and pictures of two juvenile rats that I caught in a trap. I have rentokill as a witness too. I've paid for the rentokill service myself.

1.01 that expanding foam on the wall is absolutely useless. You may as well put paper on the wall because the rats love that stuff and they will go through it real fast. You need rodent proofing mesh with gripfill and steel wool to block the hole. Stuff the hole with steel wool and put gripfill on the steel wool making sure it sticks to the steel wool and stick the gripfill to the wall. You can also get rodent control wire mesh and stick that over it onto the gripfill as an extra measure.
Creating noise will not make the rats move along. As soon as they get in to the walls or attic once they will keep coming back until you find where theyre enetering the premises and there could be multiple entry ways theyre getting in. They can get in through a hole as small as the thickness of your thumb. as I said you need to find how they are getting in if you can and block it.
In most cases its sewer rats that get in through a pipe with a hole in it or a disconnected pipe in the sewer then they borrough up through the foundation and into the cavity wall then chew their way through the wall. If you can get a pipe survey not just for pipes going into your place but neighbours pipes too and if you find a disconnected pipe or a hole in a pipe either get pipe lining done or put a non return valve at the entrance of the pipe so that the rats can get out but not come back. It needs to be a good non return valve though. Most of them will only work for a short while then get stuck open again. Also don't use a plastic one. The rats will chew through the plastic. It needs to be a metal one.
With your food put any food in presses into Kilner jars and metal containers with a metal lid which has a tight lid. Do not rely on plastic containers because rats will chew through plastic containers. Rats can smell even the tiniest bit of an odour from 350 foot away so seal up any food , don't leave dirty dishes out and keep the place clean. Even crumbs will entice a rat.
