In this video I give a few tips on how to get your car to pass emissions inspection if a few monitors are not getting ready.

Get a Actron CP9690 code tester. It'll check live, record, freeze frame,oxygen sensor test, smog test ready test and MORE! It is well lit! It comes in a black pouch.
Can you please make a vid on changing the shifter bushings or what ever makes the shifter move like neutral while it in gear lol
It may be more than just linkage bushings. Check your engine mounts, transmission mounts and also the shift rod seal. Those are the things you can check on the outside. If all of those are good, then you may have problems with the bearings inside, which means you have to separate the transmission from the engine. Those would be good things to cover in a video.
2002 745li secondary air is not ready . Any suggestions?
Good lord that engine bay is clean! How is this possible? Even that SAP hose you said was cracking somehow looked fresh...
Obviously it's easy to throw parts at the car when you're not paying for parts nor labor.
Then stop being a lil b and work on your car all this is more than easy anyone on their 5 common senses can do it. If you're smart you'll know where to buy cheap oem parts from, regardless you still gotta pay for parts lol or what u want them for free? Sounds like u shouldn't be owning one if u can't pay for your parts. Maybe a 1995 Civic would work for you?

7 Of 8 Readiness ECU Check - Complete Drive Cycle In One Drive And No Ignition Off

STEP ZERO - The night before test; Clear DTC via OBDII - clear codes in Mercedes’ modules as well - pending and stored Further; As belt and suspenders disconnecting battery over night on positive side, let engine cold soak over night. Connect in the morning - the colder the better
STEP ONE - Start car (do not let key sit in position II - just start and move quickly) and let idle 2:30 minutes with heated seat, front defroster, and rear defroster (Turn these on ASAP upon start). This keeps the idle under ~1400 RPM so secondary air can do it’s thing to begin readiness check.
STEP TWO - Put car in drive and drive stop and go around neighborhood (no highway); using full stops to 0 MPH (Use the MB digital speedometer the whole time). Do this for 5 miles from start (about 25 stop and goes). If you've done correctly the time on the car should be 20 minutes from start. Do not go above 38 MPH. head back home half way so you land in your driveway
STEP THREE - Put into reverse and back into driveway ~75 feet and put into park - your driveway is a good place to do this safely
STEP FOUR - Let idle for about 3 minutes (listen for the pump to go on) and the secondary air readiness will be complete.
STEP FIVE - Complete drive cycle by getting on highway with hazards lights on - drive at 57MPH (do not go below 55 MPH and use cruise control) for three minutes - after three minutes downshift to 19 MPH (do not use brakes, other wise repeat this step)
STEP FIVE - Bring back up to 57 MPH with hazards on (do not go below 55 MPH and use cruise control) and hold for 5 minutes. slow to 0 MPH and hold for 3 seconds - again no brakes otherwise start step five again. This is dangerous so pick non peak time and a road that has shoulder. Watch your rear view mirror and do not impede traffic.
STEP SIX - Repeat step four and five.
STEP SEVEN - Drive to inspection station and do not turn car off period.
Everything but the EVAP will be okayed and ready. Most inspection allow one readiness not to be complete - NYS is one of them; not sure about California

How to test in the upstream O2 sensor or downstream? ??
CAT Not ready? EGR Not ready?
Driving over 200 miles did NOT work! Here is what worked: in morning warm up car for ten minutes. Rev car to 2000 for two minutes. Drive at 50 MPH for ten minutes. No cruise control no AC. Then let go of accelerator. Don’t step on the break. Let car slow down as much as possible on its own. To check if car is ready for smog use code reader or turn car on (two clicks) not engine and look at Ck engine icon: if it stays on then go away you are good. If it blinks then your car is not ready for smog Ck. Hope this helps. I have been killing myself to solve the issue.
Got a po442 on sisters 2004 toyota camry. Culprit was defective fuel cap. Verified using smoke machine. Cleared code and replaced gas cap oem.but forgot about the catalyst monitors.. she took car to emissions a week later and failed emissions

I did all the possible repairs on my car and so it's not ready for inspection after like a month it still says some things are incomplete on the scanner
36 I have a 98 E36 that has no codes but the CO2 is too high won't pass smog how can I lower it I tuned it up and I checked for vacuum leaks
What a clean engine bay, my e46 does not have that secondary air tank for cold start's, I guess us lucky Aussies don't need it, and def do not want it, more Leaks to Fix

Everything completed but the catalytic converter still not ready. The only code I get is P1132 Lack Of HO2S11 Swich - Sens Indicated Rich (Ford) Idk what could cause this but I’m changing the upstream oxygen sensors on both bank 1 and 2
Hey I have a couple codes p2401 p2419 and 1429 evaporative system circuit low and leak detection pump circuit, module tank heater low circuit I have replaced charcoal canister pump and purge valve still have codes any ideas? Thanks

I have a 1996 328I, and I disconnected my battery to make repairs, change the pump valve hose (the small one), and I carried it for a inspection the same day, but it failed in 3 areas. (1) Catalyst (2) EGR (3) Heated 02 sensor.....all showed not ready. CEL is not on.. The guy said I just need to drive it XX number of miles. I use the highest octane in my car. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

do you have a video for a misfire by any chance i have an x3 2.5 2004 cylinder 6 and the injector is not working i was wondering if has some kind of a leak i introduced my smoked machine in the intake manifold and the smoke starts to coming out of the end of the car is that normal?

I need to replace my secondary air pump on my 2005 325i as it is loud on startup. The only ones I'm finding are the pumps with no hose attachment on the top. Mine has 2 hoses coming out, one on the top and the one on the side. Any suggestions??

Hello how do you change the sensors after the cat there’s 2 on a 2005 m3 e46 there not near the front of the engine there half way down the car there not upright there horizontal one on each pipe after the 2cats can you help Regards
is that secondary air pump exclusive to US e46s? Ive never seen it on any Australian model.
the highest emissions a vehicle produces occur during the first minute of a cold start. Cars in the US also have to have catalytic convertes that turn Hydro-carbons and carbon monoxide, into Carbon dioxide, and H2O(which is why your muffler leaks water). by using Secondary Injection pumps, it makes the csralytic converter more efficient and the extra oxygen help it burn hotter, thus causing it to heat up faster and produce lower emissions during a cold start :). we care about our emvironent a lot in terms of the automotive world despite what others may think
i need your advice. i had a check engine light for a gross evap system leak. i removed the schrader valve from the service port and connected smoke machine to the service port. i found a cracked hose where it connected to the charcoal canister. i clipped off the cracked end and i reconnected the hose to the canister. i screwed the schrader valve back into the service port and secured the service port cap .i then cleared the check engine light by disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it. i have driven 160 miles since then but when i took the car for inspection the scanner says o2 sensor not ready.
My car is coming up with P0430/P0430 (catalyst system Efficiency below threshold bank I & 2). What could be the cause and what can I d too get my car ready for inspection in the most affordable way possible? Have my inspection due by end of this month!

Bro my car is lean both banks and also has a low fuel misfire you think it could be a fuel pump issue? I recently switched my fuel filter used an oem one it felt bettee but still idles all dumb in the mornings

I have a 2000 bmw z3 2.5liter. No check engine light on. All monitors complete except for catalyst. It’s been like this for 4 months . 1100 miles I’ve drive ! Won’t complete! I replaced both post cat o2 sensors Bosch. Why won’t it complete ?

1: when I start my e46, the rpm goes to maximum, is it possible that my ecu is damaged? (any experience?)

I drove with bad kat about a week but no engine light on and after I drove another week without Kat no engine light on . When I change my both Kat and drove 500km not engine light. Then I put fuel injector cleaner and drove another 150 km . And after engine light on and it says on my obd2 Kat defect.

I have an 04 E83 X3 2.5i, all monitors ready except for CCM, Done the drive cycle and have 600 miles since the reset after installing a new MAF, have you run into this issue before with the CCM monitor?
same situation. since the last reset I had some work done to fix a leak around the intake manifold. every monitor is ready except CCM which is weird because before the repairs it was ready.

You would have to get a tune to delete that SAP system but you probably will still not pass emissions

Hey Jason, I have 2007 bmw e93 N52 328i. My car have a random hiccup that comes in mostly at summer time when i stopped at red light or car is in idle. I check for solution in all bimmer forums but there is no solution. people are changing spark plug, coils etc, i checked mine those seems okay. Some say its the thermostat, water pump which i did change. but i still have this issue. Also, i cleaned Vanos as well. It will be great if you can help me and other people who are having this issue. I Really appreciate help.

Wow did you say replace all four 02'$ sensors DUDE if the code is the CAT 100% of the time ITS the CAT reason why there's computers on a car now, the computer will tell you if it's the 02$ sensor.
