    Whoops, someone left the door open on 504. On a little vacation in Maine, tried to find some GRS SD40's in the old paint before they are no more; nothing in Portland yard but dark blue. Talked to some MOW guys in Old Orchard Beach doing track and signal testing, they said major work coming on that line.

    does the m426 just change crew in rigby now?

      Yes, I believe they get a fresh crew at Rigby

      Not really, traffic has been at an all time low on the Rumford Branch ever since the mill at Riley's closed in April.

      @scott Lindquist the mainline will see improvements, as for the Rumford Branch the future of any growth is uncertain

      Since CSX has taken over they have lost the mills at Jay and Old Town and are loosing the last customer in the Boston area. They really aren't interested in last mile switching or any of the branches. Due to the number of derailments they have been having, the government is forcing them to repair portions of some branches, but thats about the extent of the upgrades. CSX is trying to force the remaining customers off the main line, so all they have to do is run through freights. So far they have driven Permatreat and Pleasant River Lumber away from rail service and have been providing such poor service for Poland Springs, there is talk of them switching back to trucks. Water shipments have dropped off since the takeover, I think the intermodal ramp is only loading/unloading cars 2-3 times a week if that now.
