    Thank you! Your video saved my door trims. Super helpful the way you point how to push the clip straight towards the front. Other videos did not show how to push the clip, which looks like they are pushing sideways to pop out the trim. I was struggling until I found your video.
    Thank you for sharing..

    I subscrived, i really am amazed, how great you people help the community, by showing how to save buckets of money, and driving the most amazing cars for handfull of dollars! That s the spirit dudes! Keep up the good work! Im a fan of diy, bmw and every bucket spared to put in the gastank instead of dealerships...and then the fun of e belgian beer, after a job self done...u know the feelin? Aaah , did my emergency handbrake today , and all went welll...but untill now didnt find any detailed utuber explain, when and how exactly the 2 bolts come in play for finetuning...suppose not every car has the luxus to finetune left and richt handbrake frome the driverseat...maybe an idea to make a. Ideo?😎😀

      Thanks Bob !
      Videos like I do have helped me by the passed so I happy to give back to the community, especially to help people save some money.
      For the handbrake, the fine tuning is to be done on the wheels as I showed and usually you don't have to touch the cables (except if you had to replace them), but you're right, it would be good if I made a video on the subject ;¬).

    Thank you very much for the video. I have a BMW 325 E36 Cabrio, 1994. The function that lowers the windows when I open the doors does not work. On most of these cars I see that they have the latch striker on the door frame, but it doesn't happen on mine. Do you think it can be found inside the door? In that case, how could I solve it? The rest works fine: the windows go down, one tuch… Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge

    Interesting detail as feedback boutmy succes...i did the adaptation on rear wheels, but a friend of mine last year kind of disregulated or left the desregulated interior finetunebolts, from the previous owner...what resulted last year in a lucky pass at the otm...this year my car showed left rear difference with richt rear wheel not engaging at all...
    So i did what u did....and went back to otm( carinspection).’... didnt pass the test! Huge difference again...knowing my new brake pads from last year, knowing i didnt use them at all, i went for a watertight approach: took it to nearest garage that has a breakbench, ...similar to those onces the otm uses...and i explained the garageholder to hand me a deep socket 12 mm to finetune the result while the computer showed the initially indeed poor result....know comes what i had hoped, but nobody expected, not even the garageman, who is a renaultdealer....within seconds i could make the breaks exacly the same, by turning my right inner bolt under the handle a few turns...
    So the essence of this is that , after long trying and feeling, i couldnt get a feel how my pretension was on my cables...now im luckily at ground zero, and know the setting is even...its a story of bmw 1998. 340 000 km so 220 000 miles or so, that has been maintained by Diy ers, that often results in a “ not so ideal state of setting “.’’’ But thats what i like so much...to get the car even better, even after 20 years, ye know what i mean? I guess you do! Now my problem that showed up is a tumbler of ignition that turns indefinitly and i have to deal with this, life is e beach😎👏thx bro for your great work! I wanted u to know my story! Hi, interesting feed back !
      When you get your hands dirty you realize dome things can be vcery tricks, especially if you don't have special tools to contrl waht you do. But I think it's the best way to learn and understand how things work.
      Take care of your E36, it's going to be collector soon ;¬).

    You did a very good job showing me most of the issues I’m going to deal with by the way that black glue is more like black tar in my door!!... so if you’ve ever gotten tar on your hands or clothes or Upholstery or even the door itself .....you’re going to regret it.! Tar is very unforgiving! Maybe some tape over will help until assembly.

      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi, you're welcome ;¬) !
      Not sure you can remove just the handle... but you can always try, and tell me if you manage by the way.

    • @shngsam8777
      @shngsam8777 Před 7 lety

      ok. i will give it a try. according to my repair manual , that metal with hook thing (connect the handle to the lock mechanism) i suppose to disconnect the bottom part ( which you unhook at the top part at 12:14 )

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety +1

      Yes, if you manage to unhook that you won't have to take everything out, it seemed a bit complicated to me but maybe I didn't look well enough.

      @shngsam8777 Před 7 lety

      the problem with my car is the previous owner done the door swap without changing the lock so i got a key that dont open the door. luckily he keep the old door so i going to swap the lock over
      and once again thx for the video! looking fwd for more tutorial video

    Does this apply the same to a coupe? I'd assume so, but the holes in the 4dr seem bigger for better access.... or better view at least.

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety

      Yes, it should be similar. You might even have more space with the coupe door because it is bigger than a 4 door one.

    • @danc2014
      @danc2014 Před rokem

      2 door do not have room with the window attached. You will need to loosen it to tilt it or remove it to make room for removal.

    Great video. Is it possible to replace only the door handle trim and gasket without sliding the latch inside the door or removing any bolts from the side of the door? I just need to replace the cracked gasket. Thank you!

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks ! Yes you just need to remove the door panel and do the first step of the video, basically just releasing the little tabs on the back of the handle trim with a screwdriver ;¬).

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  Před 7 lety

      Hi, I don't think you have to take the glass out if it's fully up, but if you need to take it out it's not very complicated. Just take off the seals and what's holding the window then you'll be able to slide it out.

    It seems that you forgot to mention that the power window motor and assembly must be removed. This involves first drilling out the rivets that hold the assembly. Not an easy task.
