Thank you so much for signing! My fiance was so happy he nearly cried because he could easily watch flosstube with me. He only stitches a little, but he really likes flosstube because it's relaxing. He's used to lip reading but CCs make life way easier so thank you for reminding everyone.

I think you are absolutely amazing to sign a Flosstube. I learnt to sign BSL when I was a teenager, I have no hearing loss, but it has been useful over the years. You are like a breath of fresh air, and your honesty in your Flosstubes is refreshing. Brilliant! I know I’m 4 yrs behind, I will binge watch the rest of your FT to catch up. Take care from across the pond.

I watch your videos, but to night was such a pleasure to see your love for the hearing impaired community. I am now eighty years young, but years ago I was certified by the state of California and did the signing in a High School. This video brought a smile and a tear, memories. You could not have been more perfect, great expression. As for Cross stitch I am new, I have been first a Mother then a weaver, spinner, knitter, painter, quilter, crochet, play five instruments, and consume books. This is what a long life awards you , pure joy. I will be happy with all you choose to share. God Bless

I LOVE that you signed this flosstube. I am not deaf but I think you made us all think about something we didn't think about before...that of being a deaf person in a hearing CZcams world. Not the first time you've made me think. I now put more people of color in my stitching after your observations about the lack of people of color in many designs. I would love to see a flosstube on how to make odd-shaped smalls and how to make them nice and plump. I just made some hearts for February and they are a bit sharp and pointy. Thanks for all that you do. Can't wait to see your market releases.

I took ASL in college a million years ago and it was lovely to see it again. I also love how much your personality comes through whether you sign or speak.
I had to laugh so hard. My fiance doesn't understand cross stitch and while he appreciates the time it takes and the finished products, he doesn't care. So, I'm in my office watching your video and he heard about your hubby getting you Templar Prophecy. He felt moved to say "I can't do that! You don't do flosstube." Well, needless to say, he now has several of my cross stitch ladies' contact information so he can plan surprise cross-stitch presents. So! Thank you!

This is so huge! You've made a monumental move in posting an ASL video and it was incredible to watch. You must be so proud to have accomplished learning sign language. I've always been so happy with how inclusive this community is but you've taken it a step further and that's just incredible.
As far as video ideas, I would love to see if there's a specific method to stitching with variegated flosses, like the silk you showed for your Templar Prophecy. I'll be using my first hand-dyed threads soon and I'm not sure if there's a right or a wrong way to stitch with it to get the most out of the variegation (i.e., stitching in columns or rows).

  • @andreac-iheartcrossstitch

This is brilliant!! When I was a little girl in Indiana, I had a neighbor my age who was deaf. She taught me how to sign some things so that we could communicate when we played. And then in my young adult life, I had a deaf co-worker who I ate lunch with every day. I learned so much from her in many ways, including more signing. However, I haven't signed in so long, I feel like I've forgotten everything. This video is inspiring! I admired you before, but this just bumped my opinion of you up several notches. I hope you had a fabulous time at market. Can't wait to hear all about it. 💜

My friend in high school is an interpreter for the deaf. She used to go to church with me and she would watch the interpreter for the deaf during the service. She started hanging out at places where the deaf would gather and try to speak with them. In that way she learned signing. Last I heard she worked for the Oregon state school system interpreting for the deaf.
I bought a Long Dog Sampler charted pattern as well, "Pandemic". Have you talked to Jools Lane, the designer? She is so nice. Lovely woman. So friendly. Well, she suggested that one hank of the Silks4you will be plenty for that pattern. Gotta make up my mind the best color to enhance that gorgeous buttery creamy color of 25ct I bought. Thanks for posting!!!

this popped up in my recommended section here on youtube, I saw ASL and was hopeful it was about sign language but thought surely not. Yet, here you are signing. Thank you Stephanie, I am currently learning sign language. I am hearing impaired and really appreciate what you did here and for your comments about the need for captioning in videos. It is much appreciated. I do get a kick sometimes at the way youtube captions things (never the same word for aida lol, and its never spelled properly). However, i also really appreciate not missing anything or feeling like i have to make do. I always get said if a video I want to watch doesn't have captioning.

Hi! I think it’s awesome that you signed this episode! Love your new start! Glad to hear upcoming market is energizing you! A few moments with sun on your face would help too I’m sure. I’m very grateful for your tutorials, so I’d love to see more of that. I’d be interested to know how pick out dmc threads if the original called for threads are overdyed. Take good care 😘❤️ Rebecca

I love everything about this episode. The signing is so cool. Years ago I joined a signing club which was someone’s high school independent study project. We signed songs. I don’t remember how to sign anymore except some baby signing (that’s what happens when you grow up and have kids). Lol. I LOVE your Long Dog Sampler piece. I had seen it the other day and showed my husband who loves knights and dragons. He thought it was interesting. After seeing your start I want to make it too. I love your colors. I requested to join your FB page.

What an AMAZING human skill signing. You are very talented. I can not read it but feel blessed to have seen you do it. Your tutorials are always helpful. Would like to see one about lacing for framing and maybe a finish in the round. Keep up the good work and happy market.

Great CZcams! I enjoyed the ASL. I am able to hear but it was interesting to me.

I love Templar’s Prophecy. Thanks for advice on making it fit a fat quarter. As for future content, I’d like to see how you pick flosses/fabric for your patterns.

I was so into your signing...that is so awesome! I smiled nearly the complete time. This video was so interesting. Good luck on the new pieces. Just saying I loved your sweater also...maybe it was the color also! The expression on your face! Your Christmas Long Dog Sampler is already beautiful even without the side!!! Love it!

I enjoyed watching this - great job on the signing! As for tutorials, I always like to see various finishing techniques - stitching is my hobby. Finishing is *not* so I have a hard time making myself do it.
