    Fotodiox already makes adapters with ND filters built in for PL to many modern mounts called Vizelex. I even have a FD to L mount adapter with the ND in the filter. It isn't drop in but it is super convenient. Not to mention the cost, they are very affordable. I got my FD to L mount adapter for $83 on sale. Its something to consider especially since you'd save a ton of money on not buying a bunch of different filters and fiddling around with screwing them on

    I don't understand why this isn't more of a thing. Put the ND filters over the front of the sensor....not the lens. Then you don't have to have all the bloody front filters.

    Either focus was missed on video with Poco or filter itself giving quite softness. You can clearly see it on north face logo. There is also slight magenta shift.

  • @sixofsix
    @sixofsix Před 22 dny

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've used a VND dropin adapter on my R6. I never got the point of it. If you go outside you still have to dig in your bag, take out the dropin filter, remove the clear dropin filter, put in the VND filter, secure the clear filter in your bag or whatever, then continue filming. MUCH more work imo. It actually adds more step. There is no convenience in the switch out period from indoor to outdoor and vice versa, and that is the MAIN advantage to built in NDs with a camera that have built in from the get go. You can be at 0 stops, then with the push of ONE button BOOM you're at 2 stops, 4 stops or whatever. This is useless imo.

    • @spensersakurai
      @spensersakurai  Před 22 dny

      well the VND goes down to 1 stop. so you could leave it in for most things. Or if you just know youre going to be outside for long enough it makes sense. the convenience also comes when swapping lenses. swap the lens really fast and dont have to rescrew on the front ND or mattebox

    • @sixofsix
      @sixofsix Před 21 dnem

      @@spensersakurai understood. It's just a hassle for me because I only use one lens lol. So I never swap lenses anyway. My Sony 18-110mm PZ (built-in matte box) never leaves my FS5II and it has built in VND. Im so glad I never have to bother with any of this filters ever again :P
      As for running around indoors with 1 stop of ND, nah I'm good lol. That's one stop of ISO that is completely unnecessary.

    Thank you for your thorough review! Meike came up with a PL to E mount (probably also RF/Z as well?) but problem is some PL lenses could hit the filter if their flanges are more than 21mm deep. Was planning to get the PL to E mount version and buy the PL version of Laowa Periprobe which is $2300 so now I'm not gonna gamble and probably go with the EF to E and get the EF version of the lens. Does the "EF" mount has any serious play? Gonna go and see your other review of the EF to RF. From what I've seen here the PL end has more play than the RF end so I'm not too keen into PL anymore.

      @mofage-official Před rokem +1

      Hello, we tested the DZO adapter with our own RED KOMODO and it wiggled a little, as did the Canon RF to EF adapter. We believe it is a common issue due to KMD's mount design; all we can do is do our best to eliminate the tolerance on our end.😊

      @@leow5632 Lumix isn’t more popular than Fujifilm. Based on 2020 They didn’t even make the Big 4 of the global mirrorless camera market. Fujifilm was 12%, being more popular than Nikon who was at 7%. With the ripples fuji has caused in the industry with the release of the xt4, xh2s, xh2 and xt5, I can see them being around 15% for 2022. I think Lumix is somewhere around 2% and I think them having a Full Frame lineup got them the spot.

      Hey. Just a heads up. You do not have to shelf or low-pass the high frequencies to remove microphone and/or pre-amp noise. Any DAW is will do this but Reaper is a free professional DAW with ReaEQ that will show you where the noise is coming from so you can notch it out with a narrow band until its less noticeable. Or you an simply go by ear using the "Bandpass" option with the same plug-in. With every new microphone or pre-amp configuration always live monitor and pin-point noise areas and notch them down just a tad. Just my 2 cents being an audio engineer.

    • @captureinsidethesound
      @captureinsidethesound Před rokem +3

      "Professional" is whatever works to get the job done during filming and more importantly the outcome after the editing phase. This has been a practice even with big names in cinema. Very little care about cosmetics at %100 working condition or "bling" when using any Cinema camera. However this might be important doing weddings and live events in which i would just use a hybrid-camera in that scenario. Plus, adding a simple layer of electrical tape btw the mount and camera body will eliminate the issue. I actually like having a mount with a little play/wiggle room because it insures it will not get stuck on the camera body. But, this can be said about multiple designs, even cabinet making.
