Disney has not acquired Doctor Who! Settle Down

- After it was revealed that doctor who will in the future be streamed on disney plus for the international audience, the fandom has completely lost their minds in terror, as if disney has put their grubby hands on our beloved franchise. Thats not happening thoug, here is why.

One thing I find a little frustration in is the lack of clarity towards Ireland as we have had little clarification on whether or not we’ll be given streaming; with it being more apparent we’ll be on the BBC side of things considering our shared Disney plus/ Netflix/ general streaming selections, this is very frustrating primarily because we aren’t afforded BBCIplayer meaning there if a possibility we straight up won’t be able to stream Doctor who and considering I do not have cable I won’t be able to watch the show live.
Also BTW I’m a big fan and would love to see a Twitter account for your channel so I can follow >:)

What is it with the uk and constantly being shitty to Ireland? I'm sorry they aren't being clear about things. Australia had a similar issue with game of thrones. HBO was streaming it but we were blocked from it because Murdoch owned the rights to it on his cable service that you needed a permanent residence or a very kind land lord to access, for a ridiculous fee mind you. There's a reason it was pireted here more than anywhere else, and it's not because we started as a penal colony. My family migrated from ireland when the british stole all the food.

One point no one seems to talk about is that in the UK our government is actually cutting alot of the BBC's funding in 2029 still.This would mean the end of Doctor Who as stated by RTD. Maybe this Disney deal is a long-term investment for the shows future outside of just storytelling and budget.
I didn't even consider that. That's a very good point. The british people really need to vote those bastards out before they cause more cultural damage

@@williamwebster9437 the problem is parties like the Tories and the liberal nationals in Australia ans the republicans rely on and encourage exactly that apathetic attitude. Its a method for disinsentivising votes against them by making the base of the opposition not want to participate in the political process. They want you to feel like the system is useless and you're powerless to change things, or that the opposition will be just as bad, but you're playing into their hands because the only way to get rid of the Tories is to vote them out.

Having a budget and being able to watch everything on one platform would be nice
While rtd is in charge I am fine with Disney having streaming rights, im more concerned on bc what Disney will do when rtd leaves
The worst they could do is pull finding and then we are back to the way it was the first time rtd was show runner only with a shit tonn more fans from the Disney+ audience
