It is a fantastic depiction of how the 😈Devil tempts people, gets them addicted, sounds so cool & catchy, claims it is not his fault and yet tempts you again when you decide to leave. He might make her feel like she's on drugs because love is like a drug but he is fully aware of her cheating with him. And he says he doesn't care, he won't give her money or fancy things and not to ask him to stay either.. For someone that didn't want infidelity to be an obvious theme to this song, drug abuse gives an illusion like it never even happened which is just as bad! This whole song is an illusion for giving such a good natured sounding song a dark message as it was intended.. But hey, still a catchy song! That's all most people hear and yet they sing this to their kids and significant other 😆
