    Hi Nick, many thanks for reviewing my boat, and the feedback in the comments are wonderful to read. I spent a lot of time on the spec and the interior and having used the boat quite a bit including overnight trips we have not had issues with the glass table or perceived hard corners. A few points to clarify: the boat has a water maker, which we used on the Solent last weekend. It fills the tank in about 4 hours.The boat has the Volvo DPS system which is a GPS based digital anchor, very handy in many situations. The length of the boat is in fact 72ft, just shy of 22m; this is due to the swim platform extending its length. The downside of such a large boat is limited mooring options in UK marinas. It’s top speed is actually 36 knots, which we achieved on the Solent last year with a favourable tide and tailwind. The Williams jet tender cost £27,000 and has a top speed of over 50mph, so it’s a superb toy which can tow skis and inflatables. The original purchase price was £2.32m but the retail price of this (all boxes ticked spec) would be £2.6m in 2020.

      Sir, you have an absolutely beautiful yacht. You've got a lovely home from home there. Its a lot of vessel for the price, age, size. Bet you are so happy. Being laid up 99.9% of the time, as a disabled veteran, I rarely get out. But enjoy watching super yacht walk through videos. Nick is my favourite, as his knowledge, and very well planned videos is 2nd to none. I do have other favourite channels, but Nick sets the bar, benchmark so high, that they should be happy knowing 40% of what he knows. I only live in Southampton, and miss being at Sea, so watching beautiful vessels like yours sir. Is the next best thing. Thank you for letting Nick do his stuff, and it is a privilege for us to see your lovely yacht. Thank you.

    Clever accommodation layout, all the cabins are a decent size, including for the crew.
    Every area is duplicated at least once, indoor and outdoor cooking, indoor and outdoor dining, indoor and outdoor lounge areas and sunbathing all over the place.
    A very nice boat indeed.

    This is one of my favourite yachts you’ve done a tour of. Don’t get me wrong, I do simply love the large superyachts you tour, but there’s something about the layout and feel of this one that amazes me. 68 foot with 4 cabins (and two of them at the size they are) is splendid, and space for a crew cabin as well. Superb. Thanks Nick!

      Boats like this 680 and the so-called high-performance or fast trawlers are really just owner-operated, mini superyachts at heart! My personal favourites in this class are the Absolute Navetta 68 and the Galeon 640 Fly/Skydeck (covered recently).

      2 million is a number. Seriously. Use CZcams to educate yourself how to make money. Do you seriously think most people who are showboating in a £2 million boat made their money through blood sweat and tears? Most didn't. They used their brain. If you want the boat, use your loaf. Hustle and play around with money, week to week, month to month, year to year. I'm aiming to be able to afford one within the next 10 to 20 years.

    This is a nice yacht Nick. Sun screen looks sensible. I love Port Solent, not far from Southampton. I did my firefighting and Sea Survival in the Naval Base in the area. When I served in the Armys Navy on Landing Craft, Mexeflote rafts, and small fast patrol boats, tugs, and ribs etc. Thought I recognised it, as you've done a 680S. Be nice to see the difference. That is a beautiful interior. Worth every penny. For its age and size. I really like the twin lower deck access. The vip looks like a master cabin.
    My exs dad worked as a boat builder at Ancaster many moons ago. He did the old school apprenticeship like my uncles. Where they taught all aspects from injection moulding, teak etc. He grew up with my knowing my uncles, so when I met him for first time, he mentioned ge grew up same area. When I mentioned my family, he went oh no lol. He is a nice bloke. I helped him teak deck a super yacht in Bitterne Manor boat yard (now flats). That black stuff never came off my jumper lol.

  • @petergibbs
    @petergibbs Před 4 lety +1

    I think that forward master cabin has to be the best Bow cabin ever. Well it is not quite a bow cabin, but close too being one. Early on I was thinking you could put your guest in the forward cabin and keep the rear cabins as a family area if you have children. However on seeing it, the guests can put up with the kids in the rear. I really like this layout. Perfect for family holidays.

I love these little interjections of fun such as the ‘mirror waves’ - I still smile to myself when I hear you say Miele (I noticed that several other perfectly reputable boating channels have not yet learned how to say this properly!). More importantly though, thank you for the thorough/all access tour, always fascinating - Picking out the little details that so many other channels miss

    The "680" class of boats, to me, are the sweet spot in yachts. Sized right for easy "family operation". Or, with a crew of two, can easily offer up to 8 guests a wonderful get away as a charter vessel (money maker). Just short of the "magic" 22 meter mark, where all sorts of costs shoot right up, from manufacturing, to outfitting PLUS the fees and licensing that take a jump above 69 feet. Their layouts are similar and excellent quality appears to be a standard in the "class" (no matter the make). Really it's all down to either "Brand Loyalty" or desired amenities as to which one to pick. AND, as this example demonstrates, they hold value very well. Make mine a "680" please...

      I like that the separate areas below make it feel like a larger boat than it is. And I don't think the interior suffers much for it. I guess that's why there are so many different boats with so many different layout, because not everyone want's the same things. 🙂

    As much as I love this... is it really worth paying almost 10x compared to that 2005 one, tho? I don’t think so. 200-400k feels like the sweet spot for someone not filthy rich.

    So, the good news is, I love everything about this boat and would be perfect for me! The bad news is, we didn’t win the lottery! The stupid news is, in order to be in with a chance of said lottery, I really do need to buy a ticket! Doh 😖!!!
