The game is set in the 80s, but the game actually has a calendar function that tracks the current date. I did this video in 2016, so that's the date it should be displaying, but because the devs didn't program the calendar to go beyond 1999, it reset to 1900.
I can't help but notice that most of the time, when you try to do your "provoke a Reppuken and then jump-kick", he punches you out of the air. So much for that being "pretty much it". Besides, every time I try to jump-kick him, he immediately throws me.

Only some parts of it, like Geese dying. AoF1 story still happend, but around same time as Fatal Fury 1, to make AoF and Fatal Fury characters be in the same game without changing their ages.

KoF exists in a separate timeline from the original FF and AoF. While some events are the same (AoF1 still happend, just no 10 years before FF1), but some things, like Geese's death, didn't happen in KoF timeline.

There was no time travel related to him in KoF, he simply didn't die in that continuity.
In Kof the Fatal Fury timeline isn't canon.
