- When I got new tires it amplified how much play I had in my steering. My truck had 35" tires so the power steering gear is under heaver load. Getting the to adjuster screw is pretty cramped. You can go from the top by removing the air box or from the by removing the inner tire shield. I took my truck for a test drive and no more play.

finally!!! everyone just says to turn it this much or that much but no one explained what it was doing inside. Thank you so much!!!
Pro tip on our Super Duty's for this is to pull the driver side fender-liner. So much easier.
Am I turning the Allen wrench counterclockwise or clockwise?
Man this video is A life saver, you’re the Goat for thiss
Very informative. I'm gonna try this today on my 06. Thanks buddy
Thanks for the diagrams. I have adjusted a vehicle too far and it will not return to Center on its own. Definitely want to avoid that.
Thanks for uploading! I need to do this too.
I have done it all taken gearbox apart adjusted to the closest while not making it have tension against rack pinion which worm gear is in center. What I have found is that the actual play is in worm gear where bearings are at usually 24 ball bearings two different colors. Still trying to see how I can fix it I actually bought a lifetime rebuilt thinking they probably put a new worm gear and I was wrong . I have changed it all except worm gear seems no one sells a new worm gear.good video though very thorough.
I really wish you had all these Super Duty videos in a playlist. I had a short in the cluster I figured out in part from one of your videos.
I have a few more coming too. Doing a full flush and back flush.
Just bought a "new to me" 2006 F-250 Powerstroke 4x4 today. It was a good friends truck so I know its history AND, he gave me all of the paperwork on it from day 1. I knew that it wandered on the road a little from riding in it with him. EVERYTHING in the front end has been replaced but the steering box was never touched and I was wondering if it was adjustable. Now I know and, I'll try adjusting it before replacing it. It has less than 130K miles and, except for $5K+ in "bullet proofing" (done professionally with receipts) to the engine, is completely stock...exactly how I prefer to buy my trucks.
Will this work for late 80's to mid 90's F series trucks?
Hey I know this is an older video but at this point anything helps. I have a 2004 F350 that I’m not getting power to the transfer case motor. Changed dashboard switch, both relays and checked fuses. What else can I try?
Get a multimeter and check and see if the motor is getting power when switched on.
Turn to the LORD and have all!!! He has what you need amen!!
So, I relied on "the Lord" to tighten my steering and the next thing I know, I'm in a ditch... Can I get his contact info, so I can bill him for my repairs?
My truck over steers then won't come back and when it does its to much. Then it shoots left and right
4x4?
Mine did the same thing, it was bad ball joint and axel ujoint was frozen up
First
"Used an 18mm", then said 17m with a 16mm. Time to view a video from someone else...
