Beautiful finish!!!! Really cool!!!!
Thank you!!!!
Thank you 😊
You're welcome, and thank you for your support!
Looks awesome!
Thank you so much!
Another beautiful design. I love the idea of using a bit of brown to tie in the cabinets. What color might you use for a more cherry wood cabinets? Not to match but give a hint of a connection with those cabinets.
Thank you, Wendy!
There are some dark red colorants that would make good accents to cherry wood. Whether it be pastes, micas or spray paints. Even a dark red with maybe some black swirled in?
Sorry I don't have specific colors for you, but I'll keep my eye out.
Very beautiful. Q: when you make sample boards, what size do belive is best?
Thank you!
12" x 18" works good for me, but some designs are represented better on larger pieces, such as 18" x 24".
Hey Keith. Looks great. I didn't notice you using any isopropyl alcohol. I have tried using iso to break up patterns and I haven't had great results. I'm curious if I'm not adding enough pigment to the resin or if I'm not waiting long enough for it to set up first (or maybe waiting to long)? Enjoyed as always, Dave.
Hi Dave and thanks!
On this project, I opted not to use ISO. I sprayed a bit on the corner but didn't like the look, based upon the colors and design. Some use it on every project, for me there's a time and place, but it's just personal preference.
ISO can be a bit tricky and can have different effects with dyes, micas/metallics and spray paints. What I see as being the biggest issue artisan's have is using too much ISO. If we use too much, the cells will form and look great for about a minute, then they disappear. There's alo times I'll use it early when the epoxy is very fluid, so it creates an effect but becomes very subtle. When the epoxy is less fluid, the effect and/or cells tend to stay more formed.
I would start by using less, then step back and wait a few minutes, then add more if you'd like.
Also try the timing of when you spritz it.
Sorry for the long answer and I hope that helps some. Please keep me posted!
No apology needed. I like the long answers. I'd just feel bad if you were spending 4 hours a day answering questions for someone you have never even met. Thanks again, Dave. @@kcdcdesigns
