The further I got through this song, the more I loved it but the less I wanted to share it with my family
Yep
I sorry we have such different families
My family's messed up enough that I shared it with them and they loved it.
🙌
Literally the same
Kids in 2035 are going to use this as a way to remember history lessons
@@jzthompson9598 You realize that the internet isn’t just America, right? This song was performed on a British program, sung and written by British women, centered on this year from a British perspective. How is bringing up The GOP in any way relevant? Are you saying you think American Republicans will have a significant influence on the English, Belgian or Brazilian grade school history curriculum in 2035? They couldn’t even stop themselves from losing a senate seat in ALABAMA, cause they nominated a pedophile. Just, for once, maybe it’s okay that a video’s comments isn’t just American politics? I just demonstrated I know stuff about an off-year special election in your country. I am not unaware of your shitty system, so don’t use this opportunity to explain the awfulness to me. I get it. But please: don’t drag us all down with you. Can you name a single fact about Danish politics? Probably “no”. Do I judge you for it? Also “no”. Can you please just let us have this delightful video and original comment in peace, and find somewhere more fitting and appropriate to unload your legitimate woes?
@@jzthompson9598 Well, no. You said that kids now have less history classes (not true), you felt it relevant to mention that the moment you got smarter was when you started to read (which is true for mostromanticizing
@@notcompletelynormal you made them delete their comment 👏👏👏
@@notcompletelynormal what did they say?? x
@@amelie5086 Something about how history is no longer being taught to young people nowadays, he only got personally got so smart and wise after he "started reading"(whatever that means) and that the reason for all of this was that The GOP want people to live in ignorance and idiocy.
Don't lie, you've watched this at least twice now
I watched it 3 times in a row when they released it on their channel.
And the rest
Yup
Not yet, but it just finished and I'm going to now.
3 times :D
The sequel to "We Didn't Start The Fire" took a dark turn...
Some say this song shall be listened to for generations to come. A historical masterpiece
When kids learn about the coronavirus in a 2075 history class
Lots more people will say so in a week! I'm trying to transcribe it now.
@@annatabner8459 They won't have history classes by then. Only NewThink.
It will be forgotten by Easter
It started off really good, but the end is already outdated. Overall still good, but not a historical masterpiece
'I invited them to sum it all up'
Me: This can't be that accurate
*Song plays*
Me: JESUS CHRIST HOW DID YOU...
I’ve never felt more proud to be born in England until this moment
For me it was during the London riots. Not the riots themselves, but the online response to it - the most popular facebook event for it in the US was "A prayer for England", which encouraged everyone to pray for all of the people caught in the riots. The most popular facebook event in the UK was "Operation: Cup of Tea", which designated a set time for us all to "calm down and put the kettle on".
Hear me out, next year,
Harry & Chris & Flo & Joan
The most ambitious crossover In history
I think that's all I've ever needed in life
We need
Greenbelt festival 2018, got pretty close when they did some karaoke together on the last night
The Azkaban bit had me shrieking with laughter, this song is amazing 😆
I also had to laugh 😂
I cheered so loud at that
This song was like a roller coaster. Much like this year. Thank god for intelligent people to makes us smile through shit
if victoria wood was here shed have adored this
Couldn't help but think of her during this song!
Definately. Its very much in her style
Yes!
Yeah this is very much in the style of Barry and Freda. I think the piano part during the long note at the end was a little nod too...
This needs to be the national anthem and we will love explaining it to our grand kids and their grand kids why this is our national anthem now
They made a song about 2020 and never said COVID or coronavirus. That’s impressive
True, but they exactly didn't ignore it either - the vaccine, New Zealand, NHS claps and masks were all mentioned.
As an american I needed this
These women are amazing 🤩
Everyone loves it when it was posted 5 seconds ago 👍
Flo and joan ❤ 💕 so eloquently sung, between this and John oliver blowing up a huge 2020 I dont think anyone could top this. Well done ladies.
Thank you Russell for giving us Flo and Joan. I have been a fan of theirs since they burst on the scene. They sing everything I am thinking, and make me laugh at the same time. Such brilliance.
Honestly, it’s worth finding all their other videos on CZcams, they’re so damn good.
The little thing she did with her eyebrows at the end...am I in love now?
FINALLY, SOMEONE LEARNED ABOUT THE CHINESE CONCENTRATION CAMPS!
We all know about it just couldn’t give two fucks about it with the problems we’ve got first
@@Obsolete_E you Sound a lot like germany in 1944...
@@Obsolete_E u sound very much like Germany in the early 40s...
@@jwhymjonas6863 that don’t make sense
A lot of people are aware of the issue sadly the focus of this year has not been human rights in Asia that, I think, is the tactless point @ellis hall was trying to make that doesn't make this person a nazi just a person who doesn't express themselves very well. On another point comparing someone to early 40s Germany without any sort of context shows that you don't really understand the concept of tolerance.
This could easily be played again for 2021…
Best song of 2020🔥🔥🔥🔥
I absolutely adore these women, they are so funny, love all the songs they write, I listen to them on spotify everyday!
Love them!
This song is delightful- unlike the year.
Love them.
2020 summed up perfectly.
Meanwhile, in 2075 -
Teacher: Alright, today we are going to be learning about COVID-19! To start us off on this topic, we will listen to this fun little song--
Ive listening to this so much, subscribed to Flo and Joan 👍
Go New Zealand, I want to move in to! :P
Yeah Nah.... we're good thanks!
Wow we got the only honourable mention
I have a cousin lives out there I'm so jealous. I should start researching the requirements for family visas 😆
As a person living in nz... life's great. Parties, concerts, weddings, nature walks and the problem city that is causing lockdowns for everyone else in the country :D
2021 getting inspo from this song
That is the best song I have ever heard in a long time
Loved this when I saw it in the episode. So here just to re-watch it again! 🙌
It had surprisingly more stuff from the US than I expected! It’s brilliant!
Best song ever !!!!!!
Well done. Hit almost everything.
This song is my new favourite thing in life 🤣
2023, still relevant.

I'd like to say hi to the GCSE History students of the 2060s who are studying this as set source material for their project about the late Elizabethan era.
Can't wait for 2021!

In 1942, Dame Vera Lynn brought us Bluebirds over The White Cliffs of Dover. In 1985, Band Aid asked Do They Know It's Christmas. In 2020, Flo and Joan said "hold my beer".
😂😂😂😂 I love this
Bravo
Yay New Zealand, us Kiwis love a mention 😁
Yessss
Yay something else to be a fan of.
Christmas number 1?
Genius 🤩 I’d love to share this but not sure my mother would appreciate it!
It's a shame about the excessive profanity. I think Flo and Joan are brilliant, and when they swear here or there in a song it's fine. This went a bit too far.
My mum laughed until she cried at it, then shared it with her brother. He's a long-haul trucker, and their dad was a firefighter, so we're used to colourful language in this family. ;D
Don't underestimate your mother.
Hiya Russell, I know you probably won’t read this, but I just wanted to let you know that you are one of my favourite comedians, and watching your performances has always made me laugh. I hope you continue doing what makes you happy , and have a very merry Christmas!
Wooo
Kids in the future are totally gonna refer to this in history essays.
Wait this isn't Harry and Chris
Ikr
Yeah they were great but these two are pretty great as well.
@@JaydevRaol litterly just the same
I don't think it was sweary enough, and they only mentioned the nazis once.
They didn't even mention gen z tattooing a nazi hate symbol on themselves
@@kricket5000 Genuinely never heard about that - was it '88'?
@@MahouKat no I forgot the name but it was a z with a line through it, they didn't realise it was a hate symbol until the Internet called them natzis
@@kricket5000 it’s a swastika
Oh no sorry, the tattoo is the wolfsangel symbol
This is my first ever post/comment. You deserve a medal
Sharing bloody everywhere
Finding out they also summed up 2016 in song was a damn highlight honestly.
FUCKING AMAZING!!!
❤️❤️❤️
Quite fitting
As a key worker I 100% agree with that line.
Subcribe to this girls!
fuck yes flo and joan
As an American I would like to say not a word they sang about us is at all wrong. January 20, 2021 is going to be one for the books.
Getting big Harry and Chris vibes from this.

Awesome! Feel free to question our prime minister. In my view, you're welcome to join the team of NZ!

They should teach this song in history lessons in the future 😂
