    I'm confident to say that your explanations made me fully understand VORs concept for navigation, much thanks mate. As you said, hands on now 👍😎

    You made it a bit confusing. All you have to do is set nav radio to the vor station and turn obi to TO and set heading indicator to that heading. Aircraft will fly to that VOR.
    The off center needle will center eventually. When you past the vor you will see a from. Then set radio to the next vor and turn vor to TO. set course indicator to the vor heading.

      Thank you, this is what I thought after reading and a few attempts. I think he was trying to do something but it made it confusing.

    I like when people do tutorials with default aircrafts, easy to replicate while learning.

    This is a GREAT video and well explained with a clear voice. However, why do all the great video people not use a larger and/or colored cursor so it would be easier to see when you move it around or point to something? By the time I find it, IF I find it, it has moved onto something else! Very frustrating and takes away from a perfect video. Having said that, You Micah are one of the top 3 video makers on aviation out here!!! Easy to hear and understand and you take your time. Don't change anything except the cursor. Thanks for letting me vent. It's not just you but if you notice 99% of videos have the same issue. Maybe it's just because I'm older, :))

      Interesting comment, I will have to look into that. I know how to set it to show a circle when I click in Windows.

    Trouble is; I am using the latest non proffessional X_Plane 11 latest download/install. And my radio gear avionics was NOT Garman it was X-530 something. So this video lost me. I am using the basic Cessna 172 model.

    Is it necessary to visually search for VOR on the ground though? Or is this an instructional aid for us in X-Plane?

    • @MicahMesser
      @MicahMesser  Před rokem

      Instructional. You don't need to see the VOR.

    you went too fast in tuning in to the vor.. I didn't see what buttons you pushed or knobs you turned to enter the frequency of the vor you wanted to use..
