This is so unique. I use whole flax seeds to make smoothies and I would always wonder why it had that slimy texture, well now I know. The honey probably really helps being that it is a bit sticky. I love Terrasoul products, I have their Reishi Mushroom powder for energy and overall health benefits. Great vid girl!
This works so well in your hair! Maybe it is bad technique on my part, but I always found flaxseed gel is unable to hold down my edges. Maybe I should try again!
Thanks so much - I appreciate it! I used about 2 tablespoons of flax feed, 1 cup of water, 1.5 tablespoons castor oil and half a tablespoon of honey. Hope this helps!
I’ve heard some people have had it last 6 months using a preservative. I don’t have a preference but I see more people using xanthan gum as a preservative. You can also just put the extra in the freezer to extend the shelf life 😉
I don't recommend glycerin or xanthan gum as a preservative bc neither have any antimold/antibacterial properties. It will go rancid. To those who are new to DIYs I always recommend phenonip preservative. It is cheap, very easy to use, useful in a very wide variety of DIYs, and safe to use. The recommended usage rate is 0.25 - 1% of the total weight of the final product, so a small 4 oz bottle will last a long time. You can get it from lotioncrafters, brambleberry, amazon, or a number of other similar sites.
Hey!! It lasts about a week in the fridge. The flaxseed will get rancid after a couple days if you don’t keep it refrigerated, unfortunately. Hope this helps!
Ok I'm going to try this instead since I have a pound of it left in my cupboard. I usually put it in food but I'm a huge fan of using natural vs chemical, so I will definitely give this a try
Yeah I have sensitive skin too and find a lot of the edge controls in stores are too heavy and cause breakouts. Hopefully this natural recipe works for you!

This is what I need. And I like to put it over my hair that I kind of smoothed into a ponytail. I go through so much cuz it got so much hair 🤣🤣🤣
Love it!!
Wow! You have a new sub, brilliant video. What are the measurements ?

How do I extend the shelf life
Xantham gum is a preservative that will extend the shelf life. I just didn’t have any to add.
do you know how long it would last around with a preservative? and if so, which would make it last longer ? Xanthan gum or glycerine? Thanks!

Hey how would the process work if I’m adding xantham hun? Do I still use the same three ingredients you showed?
Alternative for flax seed ?
Chia Seeds.
Aloe
how long do the edges stay in its place with this gel?
Mine last the whole day!
Oh great 100% will be trying this 😁 !!
@@7sc0fic23 let me know how it goes 😊
How long will the ingredients last? And do u have to refrigerate it?

Can you use Flaxmeal instead?
Yes, I believe so!

Does it leave flakes/white cast?
I haven’t experienced that 😊
If I'm to add glycerin to it how much should be added?
A teaspoon should be fine 😊
How long does this last in the fridge?
I would use it within about 5 days. You’ll be able to smell once it’s gone bad!
MassAppealAri would I have to wash it out of my hair after 24 hours or can I just brush it out?
Thanks
I don’t wash it out until I wash my hair (once a week). It doesn’t flake or build up but I wouldn’t brush it out.
MassAppealAri okay thank u ❤️❤️
Edge control gives me pimples like even after just wearing for five hours. Maybe this would be better.
