As a teenager I read several books about crews that were adrift in extremely ancient ships. So much time had passed that everyone had forgotten their way. Others lived in a galaxy so vast and empty, that even with very advanced science it still took forever to get anywhere. And there was always some bizarre thing waiting for them to be discovered. Several books were so well written that they alone drew me into the love for things "ancient techno world". This was before any radio program or internet page or cable channel brought me into that realm. I never thought anyone would be able to capture that thought. That feeling. That there was something hidden, or lost. This show captured it from the very first episode. I was spell bound. I was crushed when they cancelled it. I hear they might bring something else up. But seeing the way corporations have seriously abused fans with almost every, other franchise... I'd rather see it remain where I cannot reach it. Then to see some horrible, deformed, ghoul of an imitation stretch SGU's skin over it's face and talk in a freaky serial killer's falsetto voice. Then call me stupid names for being unhappy and expressing dismay, or even refusing to watch it. I truly hope Bezos has some common sense seeing the way his launch of Rings was so very botched. The corporate manipulations and reactions to fans. It was so evil and rude, and careless. I really hope he does not do that, this time.
This goddamn show. The first episodes, light, air etc were so incredible. Primal and elemental. I'll never forget the feeling I had when Destiny flew into the sun to recharge. I was convinced they were going to die...one of the best twists in any sci-fi show.
The entire SG series has always had something missing, and for me, that was the "Where is this all going" sensation. SGU was the answer... It all lead up to this... This was truly the series to end all series and the stage was set. Poetically, logically, and truthfully, WE as a species, whether first to arise or not, are approaching the precipice of discovering origins and the writers of this series illustrated this beautifully. To not see it conclude truly makes my heart ache...
..i love destiny and i know that she really exist...its not only dream...its a wish.....but this music is absolutely fabulous tribute to this spaceship....
Even though it started out slow, with its movie type effects, amazing soundtrack and a plot that really makes any proper syfy fan ponder for more, it is sad the SGU is cancelled. I really want it to be finished so we could figure out the beings that seemingly exceeds the Ancients in technology and evolution since they were able to make an artificial sun and planet and sport the ascension look. Also wanted to know what was actually lying at the edge of the universe :( So sad

Destiny is possibly one of the strongest ships in any scifi story that I've saw. Thousands upon thousands of years moving without any repair, getting bombarded by several alien ships, diving into a blue giant and still there. That's mostly how I believe all Ancient technology would be, although there ones that seemed pretty weak but at least the Milky Way and Atlantis' stargates and Destiny are really tough.
This video is great. In my opinion, the 3D-Model of the Destiny is the best ever created starship till this day. The details are absolutely impressiv. It's a great pity, that there are only two seasons of SGU.

This ship is older than the ring transporter, asgard beams are relatively new invention. But, I would equip it with anything. This ship is epic on it's own.

Supposedly not enough viewers. Not actually true though, look it up. They probably thought they'd get more viewers with other shows that aren't even science fiction, which was true. In the grand scheme, cable TV is dying, so we'll start seeing better content online where there's an open market.

Everytime I see the destiny it makes me marvel at it's beauty when it uses it's (I think it's a wormhole drive?) and also it's sheer power even though the ship wasn't in it's prime in regards to weapon power it was extremely powerful I mean what other ship have you seen refuels itself by flying into or extremely close to a sun. I truly believe that this ship in it's prime maybe powered by a zpm could own several reapers from the mass effect universe
They don't specify the FTL drive. Only saying that it's "Faster than Light, but not quite Hyperspace" Which is why they need the shields to make an FTL jump, they're still subject to the laws of Physics.
I was so hooked and they took it away , what a travesty taking away one of the rare really good scifi TV experiences going. way to go folks kill that goose laying that golden egg... *sigh*
I remember this ship, its shields are invulnerable as long not using weapons ( weapons drain energy and shield lost efficiency) But, the weapons automatically activate when treat detected
Which network aired this incredible show? If we begin a physical letter campaign to the network and producers , it would really help. Many of the actors can be asked to be in again. Robert Carlyle would be a must have in this show!!!!!!
I was trying to figure out what cool SG1/SGU mash-up your video was going to lead into since you'd gone to the trouble of faking credits including Tapping, Shanks and Grauer. Then I realised that they all *were* in the SGU pilot. Hehe.
I think you mean the wormhole drive. The Wormhole drive is a complete different technologie. It creates an artificial wormhole with the exception that the wormhole does not require objects at either end for power or navigation. The Ancients abandoned the Technology due to its instability, the astronomical power requirements, and the complexity of the calculations

ok not to make you upset but what about using the information gathered from the time they got atlantis to earth in a hour i think i might be wrong but couldn't they configure the asgard hyperdrives to work like that? i mean yea normal hyperdrives would take that long but what about doing that?
