O Rock in Rio só existe hoje graças a esse show. Quando criaram o projeto, o organizador viajou para os países para fazer os convites. É as bandas não estavam aceitando pelo fato de ser no Brasil. Quando o convite chegou para o QUEEN eles não pensaram dias vezes, porque fizeram esse show aqui. Foi então que as bandas voltaram atrás passaram a aceitar os convites feitos pela organização.
O show do Queen no Rock in Rio de 85 é o maior concerto musical da história do Brasil.
Ninguém vai superá-lo!

Bem colocado (eu ia fazer este mesmo comentário kkkk). Se não fosse pelo Queen, o RiR 85 provavelmente não teria sido o que foi. Eu era criança e ficava assistindo pela TV. Queria muito ter ido.
Verdade!!! Mas quem quebrou o medo mundial de vir ao Brasil foi Frank Sinatra em 1980 no Maracanã.

Wow...I was born in '98 and it truly gets to me sometimes how much music has changed. I will never once in my life get to experience music to this degree and for someone who has such a connection to it, it can really bring me to my knees if I think about it too much. The things I would do to bring Freddie back into this world should be embarrassing and yet it isn't. It feels like I miss these days without having lived a day in them, I envy you greatly.

Kika Mercadante it has to be because he told Mary about being bisexual before 1985 when he went to Rio. Later on in that scene they fight for that reason
@@losangelescardinals I know, I saw the movie. But you have to consider that the script of the film used poetic freedom, it is not a documentary. They change a lot of facts, including sequential order. Watch the documentaries and interviews of bandmates

Kika Mercadante I mean the song was dedicated to her, so I mean that moment they had together in that movie (if it’s believed to of happened in real life) would had to of happened before he told her that he had an affair and came out as bisexual. He came out to her in 1976 and since Queen hadn’t performed many times in Brazil or Argentina, where the song is also popular in, before 1976 if at all I doubt that’s the performance they were referring to. Not saying that the crowd didn’t sing “Love of my life” after that but the one the movie references had to been at least before 1976
.......I never seen anything like this in my life. You have to understand what you are witnessing here. He did not ASK the audience to sing. He is in a foreign country where they likely do not even understand the song lyrics.
Then he suddenly hears the crowd singing and he is so taken-aback that he STOPS singing into the microphone just to let that moment happen. @1:21 the camera cuts back to Freddie and you can clearly see him finishing saying WOW! as he dips his head in disbelief as to what just happened. He is blown away by the respect and adoration he is receiving from Brazil..... how can anyone watch this and not cry?

Então, ele fez o estádio inteiro cantar em inglês. O problema que no Brasil daquela época pouca gente falava esta língua, falo isso porque vivi este momento. O povo cantou junto com seu ídolo e de forma correta, só mostrava a força que Fredie Mercury tinha junto aos seus fãs.

I was young and I was there that time.
It was one of the most exciting moments of my life, singing along with Fred in the crowd.
It was so remarkable that later, in 1985, I went to Rock In Rio to experience this same emotion.
Now, at the age of 63, I remain an unconditional fan.
Tive o privilégio de estar nesse show com meu irmão e alguns amigos. Éramos tão jovens e não tinha ônibus pra voltar pra casa. Passamos a madrugada a fora atravessando a cidade a pé. Mas valeu cada passo no escuro da noite.
Esse show foi o precursor do Rock in Rio, ficamos encantados com tanta energia positivo, o Brasil nunca tinha vivido algo assim, eram outros tempos, nada era permitido...

More movies should be made concerning his life. Bohemian Rhapsody was made around the song and live aid. There is much more to his life that needs to be put on the big screen.
Everyone dies. What's important is remembering people. It's not sad at all. It's great because even though people are no longer alive they stay with us. Memories are most important.

Por causa deste show de 1981 que aqui realizou aqui em São Paulo e nos shows que realizou no Rio de Janeiro, no começo de 1985, na primeira Edição do Rock in Rio, os integrantes do Queen tiveram uma grande identificação com o povo brasileiro, em especial, acredito eu, por causa da música "Love of my Life" !!!!

No filme Bohemian Rhapsody há uma cena do Freddy dizendo, após show no Brasil, que pensava que o público não estava entendendo nada do que ele dizia, mas de repente estavam todos cantando Love Of My Life. É muito lindo ver essa platéia cantando com ele.

I lived a n Chile at the time. We only heard of this by the little amount of media available those harsh years. But my rockin’ friends and I only dreamed of being there and being part of that monument of a crowd. Now I know the joyful shock the band had when wrongly thinking the crowd did not know English, much less English songs lyrics. It was stunning for F. Mercury for sure to hear that crowd of South Americans singing their song in perfect English. At the end whether is Argentina🇦🇷, Brasil 🇧🇷or Chile🇨🇱 The crowds are hard to match in intensity. Beautiful memory this clip.

A musica e o show que abre as portas para as grandes bandas tocarem no Brasil.. Rock in Rio é filho deste show no Morumbi.... Arrepia ao ver e ouvir a galera cantando, principalmente por que esta musica era muito especial para Fred e ao ser lançada na Europa não teria feito o sucesso esperado.

Fico com os olhos marejados de lágrimas assistindo à uma preciosidade dessas. Considero o Queen uma das Melhores Bandas de Rock em todos os tempos, senão a Melhor de todas !!!! Isso sim é que era música de verdade , e não essa poluição sonora que tem hoje em dia por aí e que somos obrigados ter que ouvir (quer queiramos ou não) !!!! Quase 4 anos depois o Queen retornou ao nosso país, onde se apresentou no Rio de Janeiro, na primeira (e melhor) de todas as Edições do Rock in Rio onde repetiu este momento antológico cantando e tocando esta linda música que é um verdadeiro bálsamo para os nossos ouvidos e uma terapia para todos nós !!!!! Não só a música "Love of my Life" é, mas todas as outras músicas desta fantástica banda inglesa liderada pelo Inesquecível Freddie Mercury são maravilhosas !!!! Tempo em que ainda faziam no Brasil e no exterior músicas de verdade e não essas bostas sonoras que insistem em chamar de música !!!!!

Grande sucesso romântico do Queen no Brasil e todos nós cantávamos na época.
Estive nesse show. Na saída do estádio, eu e meu esposo fomos levados por um mar de gente, não conseguíamos dar um passo, virou uma massa só, as pessoas empurravam para direita e para esquerda. Fiquei apavorada! Haviam pessoas no teto dos ônibus. De repente vi uma mão estendida para nós, assim conseguimos sair dali. Eram pessoas que estavam ali ajudando outras pessoas que estavam no sufoco. Pensei que ia morrer, mas o show foi 10. Saudades do Queen!
