    Alan I always loved Fame such a Funky song and it does remind me of my teenage years in a gritty NY. Both David and John loved the city and it was a place they called home. Miss them both R.I.P.

    I've always liked this song since I was a kid listening to it off my older brothers 8-track player back in the '70s. Didn't realize what Bowie was going through at the time. I'd heard that he was a bit indifferent to actual fame. He didn't even show up for his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. I believe he was on tour then but I doubt he was that much into it anyway.

      He’d lived fame and it appears that it wasn’t for him , hence the Alter Egos ?
