- A Steam Locomotive to anyone is always considered a treasured memory, a sight to behold as these enormous racing horses travel the length and breath of the United Kingdom, from the Heritage Railways to the big Mainlines, in fields or in stations, from high up car park buildings to low down in valleys, whether it's a normal passenger service train to an epic railtour to a simple light loco and van movement, dozens of railway enthusiast line the way to watch these living machines on fire flying by to coasting by to accelerating.
This video shows over 30 minutes of 41 clips from 2015 of my best moments of both Mainline and Preserved Line actions taken from all over the country!
Locomotives featured are:
70000 'Britannia', 60163 'Tornado' Met 1, 34067 'Tangmere', 62712 'Morayshire', 35028 'Clan Line', 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier' 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland', Black 5 45337, 61306 'Mayflower', 1744, 60009 'Union of South Africa', L150, and 4965 'Rood Ashton Hall' and no 22

13:38 how do tanks move? I see the connecting rods but no pistons
If there was one thing I wish we Americans learned from our mother country, it would be how to properly make steam locomotives look attractive. Even the British freight service locomotives look amazing compared to our American ones over here. I think ours look more like a standard piece of machinery while the British locomotives have similar characteristics like people. Even when of the same class, they all have their own qualities and are taken care of much better and they symbolize national pride in a way. In America we have Amtrak which not only looses billions of dollars a year, but also is a sad joke for a railroad company. Just wish I lived in the UK merely for the trains, and honestly it would be worth it solely do to that haha.
Why is 92 Squadron so smoky, aye aye aye
I’ve seen Mayflower more times in this video then any other steam engine that was featured in this video..
