Picked one up, urban grey and had the inside rail paint you noted. It’s inside. And barely overlaps the rail. The gun is lights out, well made and the trigger, accuracy and finish are amazing. I researched this one for six months including watching your reviews. Hardest thing was finding one ! Put 300 rounds already and it’s getting better..... great produc, adjustable elevation rear sight and again, trigger reset is out of the box fantastic. Thanks for your video....

I'm real proud for you Kotaboy32 having your own Shadow 2. I shot mine today with my supervisor and some other friends. Everybody fell in love with it. Best shooting pistol I own. The only thing I had to do to mine out of the box was to bring the rear sight up two clicks. Everybody that shoots my Shadow 2 can hit the target (usually at anywhere from 45 to 100 feet with ease. Can't wait to see the video of you getting to shoot it for the first time!

I like extended safety , started shooting on 1911s and always rested my thumb on safety and I'm used to that . Also forces higher grip . As far as slide release , you never gonna use it . In USPSA you don't wait for slide lock to reload and I'm pretty sure this baby will send the slide home when full mag is slapped in .
I purchased the exact same firearm, had it professionally tuned, trigger job, new springs, guide rod springs, etc etc.. Locally from my gunsmith, the Shadow 2 makes you look good and shoot even better. Even a novice shooter can shoot the Shadow 2 great and I have several STI's, and the CZ outshoots the STI. But the STI's are nice as well~ Good video!
One of the best triggers, hands down.
I love my cz shadow 2. I have the same model and the only thing i will change is the DA pull its nice and smooth but an 8-8.5 pound pull will suit me fine. Good video

I love mine I have the same one you have. I didn’t see the extended safety in my box. I’ll ask my dealer about it this week.
I thought about sending my bland ole SP-01 to CGW or CZ Custom shop for some trigger work but after shooting it for a year or so I found that it was one of the best semi auto triggers that I've shot. Bad boy is staying stock.
I think you're smart to start in DA and transition to SA like the gun is designed but I'm no comp shooter.

Nice looking firearm. I had to get used to the double action to single action with my Sig P226 elite dark.

the shadow 2 is based on the tac sport. hence longer slide and different frame. awesome!!

I have a PO9 that I shoot double single competitively, I don't even notice it anymore.
Sp01 phantom with cz custom shop trigger job and updated sights and talon grips has worked out well for me . And when it stops delivering I’ll move up . Enjoy the gun and shoot it enough to make it payoff . Just remember there is a lot of other platforms that deliver similar results. Later K

The slide serrations are just that--slide serrations--not lightening cuts. Ligtening cuts are what you'd see on the also fabulous Sig P320 X5. The serrations were made more aggressive because they weren't quite deep enough to get a good grip on. I don't think weight reduction was ever a motivation there, especially since they very intentionally made the pistol heavy for competition.
Wow. It's a CZ Shadow 2. Question answered on the why 🤓 Damn sexy and sweet gun. Shocked about the finish issue. I'll guess that finish drop will be gone after you get to the range and run her through the ringer.
In USPSA and 3Gun you never go to slide lock if you plan your mag changes, IDPA is where the starting in DA is useful to keep the safety out of the way. Don't worry about the finish on the inside that thing is gonna looked beat to shit after next year, LOL I hope I get to do some shooting this weekend, I will try the 12 round drill, Great comparison review video!
A thousand rounds through mine in the first three weeks. Now I am searching for the perfect load. If you use a truncated cone flat point like a Berry's #00355 it will be a relatively short OAL. Very short leade on the CZ. Round nose bullets will seat out further. Have some recoil springs to try out now to match to the load.
I'm so glad I listened to Pops and Big Johnson when I got this gun. Now my sorry ass needs to get Into competition shooting
I have to pull out my SPO1 tactical and fondle it. Haven't shot in a year. No fun shooting alone.
Nice review. Was debating getting an SP-01 Shadow for IDPA just because I prefer DA/SA and a steel gun to striker fired Combat Tupperware. I have two Shadow 2’s, one an optic ready, both too heavy for IDPA, but they rule in IPSC.
striker fired combat tupperware has got to be the funniest thing I have seen all week. thanks for the laugh. looking forward to getting my own Shadow 2.
$17 3 spring kit will get an sp01 sub 4 lbs and you can tune it with mainsprings even lower, even got around 3lb with a cheapo TriStar p120 with just changing three springs
Was going to get CZ Custom Works, about 10 miles from me, to go all out on my trigger. But $300? Ouch!

The Polykote is why I got Black. The FDE and Gray show the dirt more.

bigB6flyer I also got a Sig 226 Legion..... the coating job on my pistol was absolute garbage. Completely missing in some areas. Not the quality I was expecting for the price I paid. I’m waiting for the Shadow Bull Barrel to come out and I will have my two 9mm pistols.
I'm curious how your finish holds up vs. mine. My practice gun looks years old at this point LOL. It's not a stretch to bet you're going to love it.
You can knock down the excess polycoat but you'll firefit eventually - shouldn't take long. Looking forward to some competition video featuring the Deuce.
Those larger safety’s are on back order. My new shadow 2 didn’t come with it. I called them and they said they’d send it to me eventually. Also stop buy gear and shoot a match. First match I shot, I realized everything was wrong. Can’t plan for something you don’t know.

So if you get the CZ SHADOW 2 BLACK & BLUE you wouldn't have to worry about the polycoat on the frame where the rail engages? Can you put a light on the Shadow 2?

Just got a new CZ SHADOW 2 SA. Haven’t gotten to the range yet, but next week. Will be putting a set of blue VZ grips on it. Single action trigger pull is amazing.

K32T, I just picked up my SP-01 from the FFL on Saturday. Please don't knock it. Worked hard for the money. The Shadow 2 is out of my reach; for now anyway. At least I'm content with my 75 B SA, and my 97 B 45 acp. What a Beast. 3 lbs.+ when loaded.
Ok, but start duing hand curls. I said the S2 was out of my reach. Well, no more. Broke the piggy bank to get it.
I just wish they made a shadow with a decocker.

Ok, now I'm mad. I got the shadow 2 or and it didn't come with the extended safety. Its the only upgrade other than the extended slide lock that I can picture wanting for functionality. Gucci items are all appearing my head all the time though.
And imagine that if you send this gun to cz custom or CajunGunworks they will send it back even twice as good. You can also buy Cajun upgrade kits and do it yourself... reset close to TSO.

I turned my SPO1 into a single action gem. Be sure to get the adjustable sear if you get the race hammer otherwise you will need to file down your safety. Being in CA I can’t get a Shadow.
As a Cali guy, i know your pain! I did get a Shadow 2 Black & Blue (i am not crazy about the aesthetics of the Urban Grey model) yesterday tho! Let’s just say that having LEO buddies pays off!

It's not fair to compare the Shadow 2 to a non-Shadow SP01, IMO. FP-blocked 75's triggers are not as good as the ones without a FP block.
Personally I think the TSO has a better trigger, The higher end CZ's should just be coming with the VZ grips
Kotaboy32 Tactical my only problem with the shadow to really is the overstylized number two on it,I would have to call up CZ custom and tell them I want a shadow 2 without the overstylized two on it, but I'm OCD that's why

Hope this gun does what you want it to ! Performance accuracy etc etc . You pay and ass load of money 💰 for this model . I never found a cz I never liked .
I did the exact same thing...was looking to save money starting with an SP-01 and modding for competition. But then when looking at the cost and time, I realized I would have been better off just getting a Shadow. Traded it in towards a Sig P226 Legion SAO which right out of the box has been an excellent competition gun. Still interested in a Shadow 2 or Orange.
I have to settle for a sp-01. Its on CA roster. A used shadow 2 @ $2500 is ridiculous
