Foreman is the bridge between "It's normal to not wanna do bad things" and "we do bad things because we're not normal"
He's like the Rude of House.
"No. I'm not a bad guy. But sometimes I'm forced to do bad things." - Rude. Final Fantasy VII Remake.
You're beyond my cognitive ramblings.
No people do bad things because their life demands it whether it be because they grew up or they have no chance to get out of the society without committing crimes or in this instance commit crimes to save somebody's life
Also, it's fun
I would agree if you said: "we are COMFORTABLE doing bad things because we are not normal."
Doing bad things is actually pretty normal behavior. People have to come up with rationalisations because we feel bad about it. (rationalisation is not automatically wrong, sometimes the objectively "correct" choice is one that "feels" wrong.)
"I would love to have someone like you ... as an opponent" 😂
😂😂😂😂
Her instant change of gesture was priceless.
My first response was "OUCH!". 🤣
him and house are 100 percent right
He showed her how stupid she was
1:00 “Are you a Vampire? It’s okay, we’re inviting you in.” Brilliant script lmao
Chase laughing after House throws the confetti at 5:51 is gold.
"Rules are just helpful guidelines for stupid people"
One of my favourite lines from the show.
It’s funny, but it’s terribly untrue. The woman is actually right here, for the most part.
the real problem is that no one knows if they are stupid.
Sure everyone else knows, the smart people know, but the stupid people have no idea.
Yes, a great way to end up arrested If you overestimate yourself.
It's not true, though. First of all, rules help us largely guess other people's behavior. There's no better place to show the importance of this than driving. The actual specifics of the rules of the road are not nearly as important as people following them, or at least _mostly_ following them. If one or two people change lanes without signalling, that's one thing. If everyone starts to change lanes without signalling, that's another. But if turn signals never existed and you never expect a person to signal before changing lanes, people would account for that while driving.
Second of all, rules are meant to guide people who are a lot smarter than House, and a lot smarter than 99.9% of the population. Of that .1% smart enough to determine whether or not a rule is valid in particular cases, 99.9% would have to follow a thread of thought as to the consequences of not following those rules. For those that can determine whether or not a rule is valid in a particular case, sure. And certainly many rules have come about--especially since people started rejecting rules that existed for _all of human history_ --that are actually pretty stupid, but we're talking about social rules that have existed for thousands of years. In reality, though, it's less often a test of intellect and more often a test of arrogance. I know because in my younger years, I dismissed every social rule (like House does), but as I got to be older and I explored those threads of consequences, I began to understand those rules (including many that people today reject) on a deeper level. I became less arrogant and a whole heck of a lot smarter.
Foreman repeating what House said to Taub but louder cause he's old. 😂Dude just storms away, that's fucking amazing.
He finally lightened up.
Literally bursted laughing
Lgbt flag 🤢
2:02 that is the cleanest snap and point I have ever seen in tv and irl.
Now that you’ve brought it to my attention, I can’t stop watching it 😂
@@HaloHighlightz you’re welcome lol
I'll tell you from experience: the secret is swinging your hand in the direction you're about to point to.
Sorry, big house fan but Andre Braugher holds the title of cleanest snap. Look up B99 gay card

You know that old saying...You never forget your first.
that last line though.
The thing I love about House MD is that a man like House does not believe that his way is the only way. He may have chosen a particular way as a default, but he always knows that the solution to a problem could be literally any combination of tactics. So here he is confronting, and questioning, and even imposing... but not dictating. He may ultimately decide that her way compromises his. But it's only after getting cozy with the idea that she MIGHT be just fine the way she came.
She'll lie when it doesn't matter and won't lie when it does matter. She has problems.
@@redfordreddington8834
He definitely has to figure out if she's cancer. It's amazing how quickly he identifies conflicts of interest.
It seems pretty rare he outright disagrees with other viewpoints. He pushes and challenges and tries to get a rise out of people, clear away the chaff and get to the core of their beliefs simply for curiosity. Its consistent with his need to solve puzzles, when something about someone doesn't make sense to him he does whatever he can to get to the bottom of it, even if it means insulting them to their face.
@@seasnaill2589
Yep. Not until the final scene when he has to be right or someone dies.
Masters is the anti-Amber, which was a nice direction to go after going with Machiavellian. She was an excellent foil for House.
Making cider involves boiling the mash and then the end result has a higher alcohol content than some kitchen cleaners.
Lol i wonder what house wouldve said about the ecoli that got all the romaine lettuce recalled a couple of years ago…”pork lettuce? Call the patent office!” Lol 3:27
Foreman is too funny in this 😂😂
so this is where the senator has been after he split from angela
State senator
I’m gonna be quiet; that’s a good idea😂😂😂
Wasn’t expecting to see the senator from the office
I'll start by admitting I haven't seen every episode of house.
Was there ever an episode where they got arrested for breaking and entering?
Yes happened once but they didn't show much of it
Ironically, it happened this episode.
@@henrypeters5291 I just checked that is the scene I was thinking of. That's crazy it's in this same episode lol
There was one time where 13 and someone else (Kutner?) got caught by the homeowner (Or roommate?)
This is such a great clip... This is the trolley problem, but there is nobody on the other track.
telling the truth is not always the best way
I actually quite like her character. Optimism and morality aren't strictly naivety. And her characterization was strong.
You also understand where she’s coming from, problem is her need to be honest all the time is more of a compulsion than a morality thing. Being dishonest eats at her until the stress of what’s bothering her makes her word vomit. Sorta like an OCD person in a classroom with a crooked picture frame in the middle of an exam. They can’t get up to fix it despite how important what their doing is and if they get up to fix it they’ll be in big trouble.
She's naive.
I loved Martha.
she's a horrible character, same as cameron.
She’s annoying but not because of her morality for me, just annoying lol
Cider makers wash their apples before making the cider.
Not all the time. There was an e-coli outbreak in my state from cider with manure in it.
@@shrapnel77 yuck. 😳🤢
Oh, man. This plasma machine gives me flashbacks lol. I donated plasma for such a long time, watching the machines advance definitely makes me grateful for the new ones.
if that woman told me that she wouldn't lie to a patient to save their life then I would immediately be talking to my supervisor and trying to get her removed from my team/fired
agreed. The patient's life is more important than the doctor's sense of ethics. an she is definitely screwed up. She'd rather let a patient die, rather kill someone, than lie to them for their own survival.
Probably the only reason he didn't is because he knew she was lying.
I completely agree. Bleeding hearts don't always help.
I would rather die than have a doctor lie to me. Patients have the _right_ to informed consent. Anything less than that is horrific and a stain on the medical field. The fact that you think that is an example why this show is horrible and why the argument "it's a drama so nothing matters" is stupid.
@@asimovstarling8806 It is illegal to lie to a patient.
I wonder how many doctors have House has lost to people who shot the intruders in their home...
none
House MD as a show just went "wait a minute, this is a TV show. The characters can do whatever we want them to do!"
Angela's husband is reaaaaally serious about politics isn't he?
Masters is adorable.🤗🤗😂😂
But what if they have security cameras?
here's an even better question, what if someone was there and was armed? They could literally shoot at who they believe to be burglars and in most states, it'd be completely legal under castle doctrine lol, meaning they wouldn't even be arrested. That's why House is a fictional TV show that takes place in a fictional version of America lol. Because in actual America, breaking into most people's homes is a very, VERY bad idea for your own health lol.
Only matters if someone looks at the footage. Which they won't, if you don't mess up the place.
Only Robert was surprised, while Chris and Eric looked unperturbed 5:44 (no longer surprise them)
Chase was with House for a year before Foreman and four years before Taub. I imagine there's very little House could do at that point to surprise him but not them.
He isn't surprised, he is amused, while Foreman and Taub often find House's antics childish.
Chase has a stronger reaction than Taub, he looks (very slightly) surprised, Taub just looks like schoolteacher dealing with a child.
I just smoked and thought it said weed. Took me half the video I was like is he going to smoke to come down? I looked at the title and was like ohhh speed that makes sense 😅
Pork cider sign me up
Whee, plasmapheresis!…..I had a shunt in my jugular for weeks!
Instant horray replay 5:41
House hired Foreman because he can break in houses and now he's the Dean of Medicine. Foreman has come a long way under the tutelage of House.
The 2 best characters in tv history?
1. Dr. Greg House
2. Det. Andy Sipowicz
Walter White.
Poor Martha. She is such a beautiful character. The writers deserve a pay rise for bringing such a sweet person into the team. Love you , Amber.
I love Taub (1:20) describing breaking into people's houses as "part of [A Doctor's] job description," which it just factually isn't
You're misquoting him. He said it's part of _their_ job description, which is working with/for House.
@@ShankarSivarajan Exactly. Aeneaswood and everyone that thumbed them up is a fucking idiot.
Tbf, I’m sure there are some hospitals IRL who employ certain people to investigate into the houses of patients. Of course there’s probably courts involved and it’s not like in the show. (where it’s literally B&E)
It's explicitly part of their job description as House subordinates. Although strictly speaking under the "do anything the mad scientist tells you" clause of the contract.
She’s a med student give her time
4:58
his eyes follow her when she gets up
So something I never understood about this show is them breaking and entering all the time. 😅 illegal n unrealistic
"are you a vampire? its okay we're inviting you in" that has to be a vampire diaries reference
7:08
huh
I don't like Taub.
Taub doesn't like you either.
je ne sais quoi
does anyone
Ide love to be with a girl like her. Smart stong moral compass, super cute which is far better than super hot.
To be fair it is actually illegal from them to break and enter, but yk drama for tv so they have to do things
How am I the 12th comment after 3hrs
because after 180 minutes had passed, there were 11 other comments by the time you had posted, making you the 12th comment, after three hours (180 minutes)
Man, i hate naive people
Why didn't they just call his daughter claire?
Masters is such a waifu
yeah
Go outside. Touch grass
shut up
They should not have, should. not. have let her go from the show but instead make three seasons whole with her and the wrap it up.
"You'll lie when it doesn't matter, but you won't when it does. How did you get so screwed up?"
House perfectly summarizing the problem with white lies.
So this leaves me wondering, is breaking into people's homes part of American doctors' classes?
In almost every episode of House, they do this house-breaking thing.
Nope. It's television.
They call it an 'environmental scan', I think.
She's actually right. It's different because the former doesn't exist by virtue of it being an abstract hypothetical and the latter does because it empirically happens. Thus, you can't compare it. If he had posed the second scenario as more abstract like "Would you lie to protect someone's feelings?", her answer would obviously be no according to her character. It's important to start with anecdotes to build abstract principles instead of abstract principles to apply to anecdotes.
What makes them different though? Saying a shitty gift is nice is just lying to protect someone's feelings. The who and what should never matter.
@@DrPonk Because humans are irrational and don't weight empirical and hypotheticals the same. You always have to give concrete examples in inventories specifically because of this phenomenon.
@@zelda12346
My, that's... unfortunate. I find it simpler and far more fair to treat all situations the same regardless of specifics, but I suppose that's not very human of me.
Just because it's an abstract hypothetical does not make her answer correct. I can't think of a moral framework outside of bad faith reductio-ad-absurdum of rule based ethics that weighs honesty higher than saving a life. Her answer was objectively wrong, and niggling at the petty structure of the question has no relevance to that.
@@jmackmcneill My comment was about the "that's different" objection, not the logic for the principle. It IS different and it makes all the difference for the same reason that people are more generous in promising things they don't have than actually paying for things with their actual money.
"Part of our job description"
literally is not
Literally is no where near your job description.
Classic gaslit individual
i hated Masters so much
God I hated Masters.
Master’s was the worst character by far. Sure she’s the anti-House but the anti-House isn’t fun to watch.
nah not even close, her character was interesting and had depth, flaws and development, even if she started out annoying. You know what's worse than a slightly annoying character? One with no interesting characteristics and no development, one that's boring, like Vogler or... ehhh actually tbh there really weren't any characters on this show that had ZERO development, all had something interesting, which is why the writing was so good, but still Vogler and a few others were all much worse than Masters.
I dunno. Taub, Adams and Cameron were the least interesting characters.
@@thekamotodragonthey didn’t give her enough time to develop. She joined in season 7 or 8 I think, right before the show ended. Her character couldn’t be developed because she wasn’t given enough screen time, nor show time to change and grow and show us her backstory
