the more i watch majid the more i appreciate his musicality.
bro there is no bad music, however this is a hiphop tournament and in order to explode the dancers potential there should be some kind of songs that are appropiate to this tournaments, in this case this songs were an interesting propose but not accurate after all

I agree and disagree. The dj should've stay on the element otherwise they should call this experimental of some. 1st song was ok...funk. 2e was more hiphop, but 3rd was reggae. That song from extra round was also very weird. We all have seen Majid and Icee in beastmode on great hiphop beat...otherwise why not use lil bit krump. The dj wasnt accurate. I'll give you point on that one

icee soo icy and smooth. He gives an old school kinda vibe very fresh and his movements are creative. i believe majid won the first round and lost the rest slightly. It could be because he didnt have time to study the beats since he went first. But he knew he lost which is why he asked for another round, respect

Music is HIP HOP PERIOD! Don't ya'll forget that DJ Kool Herc was a reggae DJ from Jamaica he who had layed the foundation for the Hiphop culture we live today! A lot of foundational Hip Hop moves have their roots from Jamaica! Icee probarly knew this and killed it! Much respect fo Majid as a new gen dancer ;)

Yes the music might not be Hip hop related but you can't play the same old hip hop things all the time you gotta play something the Dancer never heard to challenge them. The still both killed it Enjoy the Dance instead of complaining about how bad the Dj was.

Nicolas, that's the concept of that battle. You have 3 of the competitors left and they have to battle against the judges by choosing one of them.
Then both sides have to decide if they won or lost. If both decide the same, the crowd chooses and the loudness will be meassured by a decibel meter.

I asked myself the question. Majid wasn't in last 16. So He can't be in Semi Final.
And his judge battle was against Mufasa.
Popping Rom's He beat Mufasa and had the opportunity to battle in her place. And since his buddy Waydi was in the competition that same year, Majid chose to carry on as a participant.
Judge battles aren't just for show. You win you pass to the Semis. But if a judge beats you, the judge gets to take your place.

IceE did a much more difficult move at the same part of the song. How can you call that bias. Both of them shared the same climax in the song and their dance it was at the same part. One had a more difficult move.
Now Majid did some major beat killing but IceE accented beats as well. Tho its wasn't as consistent as Majid he made up for it in variation. Speeding it up, slowing it down, floor moves (difficult moves at that) and really smooth. Its a smooth song like on some tai chi kinda vibes,
terrible music but it did reveal Majids weakness. He forces the energy out of himself rather than place it in sync with the music. There is more to dance than murdering every beat. Its about feeling, flow, form, foundation, etc etc.
Majid is a great dancer, and he one of the dancers the audience wanted to see in the finals along with Waydi. I was there, people wouldn't stop talking bout seeing those two battle. However you cannot Deny how amazing IceE was that night. Which i respected a lot about him, he turned ppl into fans.
fun fact. Majid asked for one more round, my theory is he knew he lost and wanted to make up for it rather than let the crowd choose. I think his pride wouldn't let him admit defeat.
my opinion tho, please don't take this as me disrespecting his ability. Respect to both dancers but it is very clear IceE won this regardless tho Majid did good 2nd round on ward.

+kingashaman, not quite convincing when all the songs they got where a bit old... we all know how waidy and majid kill the beat when we have at least 2000's + music... there should of been a bit more of equality because really how do you expect waydi to know 25 years of hip hop when he is 20... come on now, you can clearly see majid here having trouble to adapt to those beats... Icee is great too l, don't get me wrong but could he dance to the same type of music that waydi and majid are used to ? guess we'll never know...

+Miguel Sanchez The dj just played a bunch of wack songs from whatever era. That was the biggest problem. I dont feel the any of them really could get off like they potentially could have. That being said a true dancer should be able to dance to just about anything with a rhythm or a melody. Even spoken word.

Majid spent the entire battle asking Icee for musicality, but Majid himself missed the musicality of the first sound, the first song, and Icee got it right. The first song was a more paced song the way Icee danced, and not the fast way Majid danced.
However, in the second round, Majid got his musicality right, even more than Icee, but he used basic and simple movements, we all know that he has a lot of technique, he got his musicality right, but he didn't use the technique he has in his movements, and it was very basic. I should have risked more.. And the second round ended up being a tie, because Icee had less musicality than Majid, but the movements were better, they were more creative movements.
And in the third round, Icee again, found musicality, and made more interesting moves than Majid.
Majid can see that he has a lot of technique, a lot of musicality, so he is also among the best, but his movements specifically in this battle were basic and simple, I've seen Majid's battles that he was much better, he was much more creative in the movements..
If you did that in this battle against Icee, you would have won, you didn't, and you lost.
The battle in my opinion ended in the third round, with Icee winning 2x1, and not even needing an extra round.
And in the extra round, Majid has to understand, that there are 2 types of musicality, the one he puts on, which is the fastest, and the other, is the one that Icee put on, the most cadenced, so he did not understand the musicality of the Icee.. And again in the extra round, Icee again.
For me Majid killed it, its kinda sad that he lost, for me it looks like Icee won cuz he is well known...
