Chinese Elm Pre Bonsai Update Aug 6, '24

I started these trees by planting seed in a large germination bed in November of 2022. In the spring of 2023 I pulled them out of the bed and potted them into individual training pots and then let them grow all year without ever pruning or trimming them. This spring I cut about 90% of last year's growth off and then let all the new growth elongate again with no pruning. This video shows the result. I will continue to grow them using the same procedure for another two to three years which will result in trees with much more taper and movement than if I had just let them grow without the major cutbacks.
