Dude, I wanted you to know that as a new griddle owner, I think your channel is by far the best. Casual, right to the point, no stupid, fake banter between "hosts" or host and cameraman, no dilly dally...right to the point. I like your style and your recipes as well. SUB'D!! Please keep 'em coming!
Yeah, this guy is casually hilarious & ON POINT!
Thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoy it and like my style. You pretty much described exactly what my goal is with each video so I really appreciate it. I'm glad it comes through that way. Also thanks for subbing.
Well said!!
my exact reason for watching
Ditto! I made my own playlist of your videos so I can take notes.
I just got my first Blackstone last month and your channel has been a go-to for me ever since. Love the smash burgers and breakfast creations you're inspiring me to make!
Awesome man! Congratulations on the new griddle and I'm so glad that my videos have been helpful.
Another awesome vid! I gotta try that eggroll in a bowl recipe. Appreciate all the help. Your channel is, IMHO, the most "slept on" griddle channel on CZcams.
I appreciate that! and definetly give it a try.
“I’m just cutting onions, I’m not crying”….cracked me up! I don’t have kids but I can imagine what that has to be like!
Flying dutchman should be one slice onion in center with smashburger patty bun
Your new neighbours must love you or hate you. Depends on how much you share! I bet the neighbourhood never smelled so good.
Thanks for the chuckles in this one!
Just like the guy below me, I'm a new griddle owner. I quickly found there are A LOT of different recipes and helpful folks out there. YT brought me here and I've been digging ever since! Thanks for your videos man and I'm pumped to use more of your suggestions soon! I did my first Smash Burgers tonight and they were a hit! Much love!
Hey congrats on the new griddle!! I'm so glad my videos are helpful and I really appreciate you watching. Also that's great that your smash burgers turned out!!
Johnny, hands down you are my ONLY Griddle cooking channel I watch! But.... where was the brew'ski??? That might have made it all that much better!!
Thanks buddy. Ya I enjoyed a few afterwards but forgot to get them in camera.
That "egg roll in a bowl" looks FANTASTIC!
As far as loosing weight, tell the wife you need to burn 1,000 calories every night & she can too!
Parchment paper is such a wonderful assistant. We didnt discover but just a few years ago. Need Johnny Koozies!!
No nonsense straight forward reviews - well done. Thanks.
You're welcome!
Your commentary makes your channel- its great!
Thanks Darren!
Just from looking I totally agree. I cannot wait to try the hash brown omelette on my outside griddle!!
You won't be disappointed!
For some reason, your videos haven't been popping up in my feed in the longest time! Your channel has EXPLODED! That's awesome man, congrats!!!
Heyan hope all is well. That's weird I wonder why they weren't getting surfaced. Well thanks for watching man. I hope everything is going good with your channel.
I honestly, don’t own a flat top grill yet, but I still enjoy watching you cook, & learn new recipes.
I bought an air fryer here lately, & love it! 😊 d love, to see you do some air fryer recipes as well. 😂
My in laws are planning on getting me, a flat top grill for my birthday in June. Can’t wait! 😊
Thanks! We have an air fryer but I've never thought about doing recipes on that. I can give it a try.
Egg roll in a bowl is fantastic. Make it often for the family. Like the twist with ground turkey and peas. Need to make the hash brown omelette. Griddling in a Beatles shirt is an elite move! Stay hydrated!
Thanks David! Glad you liked the beatles shirt.
@@JohnnyBrunet Beatles fan since I was 7 and my parents let my sisters and I watch them on Ed Sullivan
Not a snowball’s chance in Phoenix in the summer would I eat that onion thing! Happy grilling.
🤣🤣🤣
Hell yeah, Johnny! Been meaning to make your egg roll in a bowl for sometime, now is the time. IPA('s) and lean(er) eating is what keeps the griddle guts alive. Party on, dude.
Heck ya buddy lets start our own diet. The lean PA !
Ranch on a burger is great. I just don't think I'd do it on a griddle. It's too easy to over do it. My grilled burgers are my most requested meal. My daughter's are always asking for "daddy burgers". I use a 5-lb log of 80/20.
Break up the meat in a large mixing bowl. In another mixing bowl add 2 cups ranch seasoning. 1/4 cup granulated garlic, 1/4 cup onion powder. Salt/pepper to taste. Mix it up and then mix it in the meat a little at a time. I just make the patties by hand (roughly baseball size). It yields between 13-15 patties. Throw them on the grill and have at it. Your taste buds will thank you.
I totally agree with you, the flying dutchman needs a bun and egg roll in a bowl is outstanding! Thanks for the honest opinion.
You're welcome Dale. Glad you agree.
Looks like a very nice back yard!
Thank you.
Awesome video! One of my favorites! Enjoy the humor, “just cuttin’ onions, I’m not crying”. This is a great format, keep it up!
Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I really appreciate that you show the test cooks. It’s really helpful to see what not to do or what still works even if it’s not the prettiest.
You're welcome I try to be honest and realistic. I'm glad that comes through. Everything I nake certainly doesn't always come out perfect lol.
Pass on the Dutchman.
Great job with the different cook ideas. I did try the crack burger but was not impressed and it was hard to keep together. The smashed taco burger actually looked pretty good to me and will try that one. I was missing the beer though. Keep the vids coming. I bought a new griddle top from Camp Chef and the new ones have holes to attach a lid, so I bought the lid as well, and love it.
Damn keto people...🤣🤣🤣
I'm thinking I'm going to try those crack burgers...
That griddle gut couldnt be hid in anything other then a Beatles shirt !!
😂😂
Thanks! This really helped! I know which ones to avoid and waste my time and money. ❤ your new setup and happy you're enjoying the new house! Cleaning up the griddle and grill today. Finally we'll enough since my back surgery. Griddle on my friend!
You're welcome Dennis!
Johnny - love the channel and all the ideas for griddling! Also, not sure if you’ve updated your gear, but the video and audio is looking and sounding sharp 👌🏼
Thanks so much! I did get a new camera. Glad you can tell.
Great backyard! Better get a fence before all your neighbors start coming over and stealing all the food off your griddle while you go inside to get the pepper you forgot. I know it was last place but I think I’ll try the taco smash burger. My wife is allergic to gluten and this might be a good way to have a ‘real’ smash burger! Love your videos. Keep it up!
Thanks!! Lol ya I gotta make all the neighbors smash burgers so they will like me. But then after that the fence goes up 🤣
Making that push to 100k! Almost there!
Yup, I can't believe it.
Beautiful Masterpeice. I love onions.
Love your video style & humor. Thanks for the entertainment.
Thanks brother. You know I always appreciate you watching and all your feedback.
Love it, you're making me again feel that, YOU'RE DA MAN!
Awesome! Thank you!
I'm going to be making those Hash Brown Omelettes for my wife. She loves hash browns!
I want to try the smash burger taco-with a twist. I learned to make my own taco seasoning and corn tortillas. I'll never go back to store bought! So easy to do *and* healthier. I think I'll sprinkle some seasoning in the meat before hitting the griddle to give them a little flavour and use taco toppings more so than pickles, etc. Should be fun to try?
I am trying to cut down on the amount of bread I consume - that's why I picked up on making the corn masa tortillas from scratch. No wheat.
Hi Johnny, I tried the smashed taco. After the burger was done I put it in a taco holder and built it their.Taco sauce, shredded lettuce, sour cream and diced tomatoes. Wasn't to bad. Cheers my friend, Lester
Ya that sounds way better. Everything I saw was people building it like a burger. I think building it like a taco is the way to go.
Hallelujah griddle season is once again upon us (not that I don’t griddle even in the middle of winter) lol. Great video as always Johnny.
Heck ya!! The Ohio spring/summer/spring again / rainy with a chance of sunburn is here lol!
Good stuff Johnny, thanks Buddy.
Thanks Todd!
Love your channel, I can't wait to try the egg roll in bowl and the hashbrown casserole. I agree, the Flying Dutchman needs a bun. I've seen the smashed tacos and just don't get them. My family has no desire to even try them either.
Thanks so much. The Eggroll in a bowl will surprise you. The omelette will be as delicious as you think it would be. I appreciate you watching
Just bought a Weber griddle a month ago. Found your videos and enjoyed them. Form a Canadian guy. Cheers
Congratulations on the new griddle! I'm so glad you found my channel and that you enjoy my videos.
As a fellow Ohioan who happens to be new to the griddle world, this was extremely helpful!
Awesome! Glad you liked it and congrats on the new griddle.
The hash brown omelette is definitely one of my favorites. I would make any of these except the crack burger. Although I like your idea of using less ranch, so maybe👍😊
Totally agree Bobbi.
Just an fyi, under the main ingredients in the Ranch Dressing mix, you’ll notice that also contains ‘bioengineered’ products. The pre made bottled dressing is the same.
Ugh that doesn't sound good. I don't think I'll be using it again.
I still wanna try the smash tacos. Might not be right the first time but there’s something there.
I've made the smash tacos before, but I added taco seasoning to the patty after the flip. I also used sour cream, diced onion, jalapeños, shredded Mexican cheese, and cilantro, and some taco sauce. It was pretty tasty. I like that the taco shell replaces the need for a piece of parchment.
I think a re-do is in order.
Ya taco seasoning sounds like a more logical way to go. I want to taste taco flavors not burgers flavors.
I have already made the hash omelet and like it...I will try the crack egg bowl and likely try the taco smash.
Thanks for your honest opinions.
Your very welcome.
I think you should riff on that crack burger by doubling the ground beef & add 2 eggs to bind the meat - OR - use 1/2 the Ranch seasoning & add 1 egg? You know the drill - Fool Around & Find Out!
Great video Johnny! I agree with the crack burgers, if anything probably half the amount of ranch. I made them a few weeks ago and I didn't use the whole packet because I just knew it was going to be too much. Hash brown omelettes, heck yeah! Made them a few times and they never disappointed.
ya even when I mess up the hashbrown omelet, it's still very good.
Howdy Johnny, glad you tried them so I don't have to....other than the hash brown omelet. That I will try. Have A Day! ;~)
Outstanding!
Thanks Johnny, for showing us which of these to avoid. I like the looks of your new property.
Thank you so much. We're very excited about it. We love having a backyard for our son.
Thanks Johnny. Yeah we are on the same page.
For the crack burger. Try 2 tbs of ranch instead of the whole package. Try the Meat church recipe. I used lean ground beef and it was great.
That sounds much more reasonable. Thanks I'll check it out. I love the meat church videos.
I see a Johnny video and I like! 😃
Gunna make some smash tacos. They look good. They WILL be good. I always have tortillas in the fridge. Sometimes I dont have burger buns. Sometimes I chop up some cabbage instead of lettuce. It's a little bit more crunchy. Cabbage and lettuce dont have much in the flavor division, to me.
All the “Flying Dutchman” I ate had the slices of cheese sandwich between two burger patties. Adding the onion must be something new.
Really. I must have got some bad info. This is what I've been seeing people do. Did yours have a bun?
@@JohnnyBrunet no bun. Just the meat and cheese.
The season for outside cooking in the uk 🇬🇧 is getting closer Johnny. Back in for new recipes buddy.
You did me proud last year on my first griddle cook out. Love the new house dude. Bet your neighbour’s love you around. Stay safe buddy. Looking for more ideas.
Awesome buddy I hope it gets warmer there soon. Its really heating up around here. And thanks so much we feel so lucky to have this house, we love it.
I'm al in on that omelet.
I'll give that a try this weekend.
Great video. Hash brown omelette looks like the truth!
you got me CRACKing up laughing this video
😁😁😁🍻
Another great Vid!
Glad you enjoyed!
Congratulations on the new home. Best wishes.
Thanks so much George.
I really have enjoyed your channel, Im new to griddle cooking. Purchased the Weber 30”. Good food, good times.
@@georgeground8967 heck ya man. Congratulations on the new griddle. I hope you're enjoying it. They can be so fun to cook in with friends and family. I'm glad you enjoy the channel and I really appreciate you watching.
Some of these “viral “ foods look interesting but I would never eat some of them. Yes I’ve made the hash brown omelet several times & it’s great & I’ve wanted to give your egg roll in a bowl a try.
That Flying Dutchman is just ridiculous. It looks like someone just made it for their Instagram views with no regard for functionality, practicality, or taste.
Oh, no! If lil' bro don't wanna cook with you, then I will! Though, the brewskies better be floowin'!
Try that crack burger with less ranch and an egg mixed in as a binder (like meatloaf). I think that might help with the issues
That's exactly what I was thinking as I was making it, "damn we're half way to ranch meatloaf" lol. I'll try that next time.
Another excellent video, thanks for the effort. You saved me a lot of wasted time!
You're welcome!
Nice video, please keep more ideas coming. Also fyi bud, fat doesn't make you fat. Its sugar, carbs, and starches (potatos). Look into Keto griddle ideas.
will do!
Great vlog…..loved the hash brown omelet. We make this all the time. Haven’t tried the egg roll in a bowl yet but it is definitely one we want to try. On the smash taco burger. I think you need to try it again. From other recipes I’ve seen…..I think they add taco seasoning to the meat 🤷♀️ May want to try that. Again…great vlog. ❤️
Thanks Janet I will give that a try. Have you tried it with Taco seasoning? I wonder if that changes the flavor enough to make it more of a taco and less of a burger. That would make more sense.
No, haven’t tried it yet. We are getting ready to purchase our first griddle. Still on the fence on what to buy. I make the hash brown omelette in my biggest skillet and it works. But the recipe and the idea came from you.
@@JohnnyBrunet haven’t tried it yet. I think it would definitely change it.
@@janetstewart6977 oh that's awesome. Ya it's hard to figure out what to buy. I like my camp chef but haven't used a ton of other griddles. Flat Top King does a lot of good reviews.
Awesome video! Just about to try my first chicken fried rice tonight. I have your video on standby and your recipe. Hope it goes well! Always look forward to your videos. Cheers!
I hope it went well!
@@JohnnyBrunet It went very well! My (adult) daughters had it for leftovers tonight and they liked it too! Will add more chicken and eggs next time but a great starting point. Cheers!
@@malmeyer awesome! I'm so glad to hear that.
congrats on the new house
Thanks so much Robert.
Tad windy in the last one. So…. How do you conquer the elements while griddling?
Just came across your channel and subbed ya 👊🏻 I’m getting my black stone for Father’s Day and binge watching your vids to learn as much as I can. What oil do you use for cooking and then for seasoning? Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!
Awesome man you'll love your new griddle. I've used tons of different oils over the years for both cooking and seasoning. Lately I've been using avocado bc of the higher smoke point. But I've use canola a ton as well. And canola is a lot cheaper.
Oh and tell your family if they want some smash burgers they need to get this griddle a few weeks early. 😁
Can’t even believe it was in tractor supply today and the 36” was on a Memorial Day sale, grabbed that bad boy and put it together tonight. Seasoning tomorrow and smash burgers will be the first thing I cook!
@@flatlanderoutdoors2549 Hell ya! I think I saw that sale weren't they doing like $280 for a 36 blcackstone.
Yep $280, I was going to get a smaller one but couldn’t pass up that deal!
nice honest review of hype foods 👍
Thanks.
I’m just going to do a regular smash burger, that good enough for to people I know . Thanks for the video…I wish you and your family will.
Ya I would too. All the gemick stuff isn't worth it. Thanks
Turn that dutchman into a chopped cheese. 😂
Yup, Id like that better too.
Do you know if the pond behind your house freezes solid enough in winter to ice skate on it?
I actually saw some kids skating in it when we came for a showing. But the neighbors told me that's only happened a few times.
Egg roll bowl then hash omelette for me! I really enjoy your dry humor and tell it like it is approach. Do more stir fry recipes and new approach to griddle recipes …example: Griddle recipes from around the world! I like to find unique and tasty recipes to try! Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks Paul, and yes I can try more stir fry recipes.
Great Vids! Try keeping the audio for your b roll running with your narration audio. We want to hear the sizzle. Congratulations on the new house. Or are you squatting?
Thaks for the tip, I can do that!
Maybe add an egg to the crack burger to hold together works for meatloaf as always great vids
That's a very good idea.
Your videos are great I like your style. Flying Dutchman at in-out is just meat and cheese only, no bread no veggies or anything else. I have tried to duplicate it with no such luck ☹️ I’ll try some of your ideas. Cheers 🍻
Thanks John. I've never had a reall one I need to head west and try that.
The traditional flying Dutchman, if you just order it at in-n-out, is just 1 patty, 1 cheesr then another patty and another piece of cheese. If you add grilled onions they are Chopped up and put below the bottom cheese, you can order then with a slice of grilled, which you did but they put it between the cheese...you can ask them to do it the way you did it...but yeah...I am with you, would make that...just an onion smash burger is awesome
Oh well thank you that make so much more sense. Why in the hell is everyone putting the onion on the outside. I'm glad you told me this bc I couldn't see the appeal. I'm assuming the internet took hold of it because the onions look so good on top. I mean I did the same thing so I'm no better than anyone else I guess lol. Thanks so much for the clafication my friend.
If I may also jump on this comment, animal style is the patty is grilled after you put mustard on it and you add pickles to the burger. Normal In-N-Out burgers do not come with pickles. They also put extra spread on the burger, too. I believe their website has all of the details on the "secret" menu.
@@7Wolf2k absolutely man I appreciate all the info. I home in the videos but I really don't know what it actually is. Which is my fault I should have probably done the research on there site rather than watching other people's channels where they just make the wrong burger. Tha ks for chiming in and for watching!
I love watching Sam too. Odd that his recipe wasn't stable
I'm sure it was me somewhere along the way bc he is an unbelievable cook. But still I wouldn't recommend the burger.
An egg or two would help keep them crack burgers together.
Brother, ya done missed the green spot on that second one. Just saying. lol
I'm planning to make that onion SLAB burger, but I'll also use Brownberry "Sandwich Thins" as a handle - yeah, it's not KETO, but neither am I.
That's a great idea of how to do it.
@@JohnnyBrunet - OH, you said the same thing at the end! Do it again w/ a bun!
We made this in a skillet using ground chicken - if you are looking for other healthy option 🙂
That's a great idea.
Perfect! saved me a lot of disappointment. I have seen all the crack burger vid's, and I agree, looks like way too much Ranch. Anyway, did you move your grill setup, or are you in a new house?
Good video Johnny ,,, I would have watched sooner but I hurt my legs and arms from jumping off my griddle ! Then rolled off my deck onto a cactus then getting up stepped in dog poop. The worst part is I was bear footed but after ten beers I'm all better now ! LOL really I'm only kidding my friend. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.....
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 sounds like quite the experience Frank!
You gotta put taco seasoning in your meat for a smashburger taco. You fixed yours like a regular smashburger so of course it's gonna taste like a smashburger in a crispy shell.
ya that's all I was seeing for the huge videos were people making them like burgers. It makes a lot more sense to do it like a taco.
let's go!!
After much hype, I finally gave that crack burger a try. I and my family were all so disappointed. I suppose if we’d never had hamburgers before, it probably would have seemed good….no it wouldn’t. It just doesn’t work. It was just gross.
Johnny, I’m glad that you’re here as a voice of reason, so that I know what hype to avoid. From now on, I’ll just wait and see what you have to say. You haven’t steered me wrong yet.
I'm glad you feel the same way. I always get torn because I never want to lie and Everything make isn't always great. However I definitely don't want to be the guy who just takes a negative approach for the sake of being different. I just got to be honest. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
Is it a little baby farmer growing them little baby corn?
😁
Damm son glad to see you doin good new house you kid getting big you doin good I'm proud of you oh and hope MoMA treating you good you deserve it hella good job keep it up
Thanks so much John. We feel very blessed to have this house.
Did you move? This house and yard is nice. You aren’t griddling next to a sidewalk anymore
Yes we did. And yes lol, no more sidewalk. I'm moving up in the world!
Onion berg is too hot to handle as in a hot mess!
I agree….not sure where the fad came from to add ranch dressing to everything….way to over powering!!
"It's good.. It's good. Would I make it again??...............NO!😂😂
😁😁😁 Too many others things that are great on the griddle for me to be messing around with that lol.
mixing crap into burgers makes meatloaf!
Meat always seems way too thick on the smash tacos in my opinion. Hard to get more ingredients into it.
How about a griddle pizza? You could possibly use the lid of the griddle to trap in heat to melt the cheese. Anyone ever attempt this?
I did it once and it was just ok. I need to try it again.
@@JohnnyBrunet I'm wondering if the crust could remind you of a pan pizza, but just on the bottom. Sounds like a job for butter!
