      What kind did you get? the one like they use looks really expensive and it might be Overkill. But that's amazing how it made quick work of those holes.

      I love grasses too but for me it’s miscanthus that i can’t stand, they’re so aggressive that they’ve become an invasive species! Thankfully I was able to remove mine after a couple summers of hard work

      @@naturegirl7777 I'm zone 2b so my choices are few. Planted Karl Foresters 5 years ago, so this year with a drought + my neglect they are the best they've ever been. Rabbits and deer don't eat them so how can I lose?

      Agree😊...at first glance they resemble lemongrass... What a great variety of grasses we can enjoy...there's thousands of varieties. We've not even begun to scratch the surface of what we are familiar with. Can never get bored. Amazing 😀

    I just moved into a house that had six of these grasses and I dug them all out , they're too tall and don't impress me at all. I put them out at the front of my home for free and I had people slamming on their brakes to pick them up. I'm happy that someone else was happy putting these in their landscape.

    In Norway where I live where the weather is much the same we never cut down grasses in autumn. It is a big no no. Beacuse water can settle in it's hollow stems and rot the plant from within.

      It’s also cover for wildlife, and winter interest. We get more (and heavier) snow in the Midwest than they do, and grasses look great until Feb-March, most years.

      what isnt fun is when these grasses escape our homes and become invasive, causing damage, high expense to control, herbicides having to be used and destruction of native plant and animal species.

    I actually have 6 of these tall grasses in my backyard planted in a row to block out n soften the neighbor's cement retaining wall...their in their 5th year n r maintenance free...i just cut mine back to 9inches at the start of spring n they flush back gloriously...i leave em up all winter to help soften the cement retaining wall...their very tough plants...put them in clay soil just like Laura n Aaron...never lost one...they can take the heat n r a great living green privacy screen...i totally reccomend n endorse this plant...Easy Peasy...😉🌾👍

      In fact i should mention that all 6 grasses were very rootbound in their gallon containers n half dead n half alive...so the business wer i bot them marked them half price at the end of the growing summer season...planted them at the start of fall...ther beautiful n elegant blowing in the wind n make that wonderful grassy sound thats pleasing to listen to too....😉🌾👍

      Yes the new grass coming up was the 1st thing I noticed along with the sprinkler's going off. Looks like germination was a success! Love, love the panicum grasses, glad the are bright green. Hope the "clay coffins" are gentle with them although we all know how strong those grass roots are!

    Love the grasses 😍 and wood chips are a gardener's BFF I had 5 loads dropped off on our property a few months ago. Saves on money water and your back... Not very much weeding with wood chips down lol if they do pop up they pull out with ease.

    I love my Zebra grasses. When I moved into my home five years ago I bought one, now have a beautiful privacy fence of grasses swaying in the wind. I've separated that one plant to get more each year and it is just beautiful.

    As a western Canadian, I find the idea of something designated zone 4-9 as being “winter hardy” rather funny. Just the other day I was looking at some hydrangeas whose tag said “hardy to -40” and thought, “Yup, those just might survive…”. I always tell people our Canadian bred roses grow their own fur to survive winter. ☺️

    Oh Laura. Your the BEST!!. I watched your video this morning like I always do and I love these grasses. Just what I need to block my gas meter. I called local nursery and they had them!!!

    I love grasses, my mom does too! They are beautiful in the wind and the sound is relaxing. I want an auger like that, it would beat my shovel. Your family is the best, and love the videos. Thanks for sharing you vast knowledge with us all.

    Those are perfect!! I need to find some of those around me. My mother in law moved in with us and large grasses are her favorite. I have a spot I could tuck some of these and she would love it. I am a zone 5 so these are ideal. Great video, thanks for sharing.

    I always fill my potting hole up with water especially when the soil is so dry. Gives them a little extra something something😁

    I planted a handful of much smaller grasses recently (PNW) and I call that area of my garden The Savannah. 😉 I love the mature grasses you planted! They just add a whole new look! Thank you for sharing - so inspiring!

    When the camera pointed towards your house , for a moment I thought which part of the property is that ?? I haven't seen that area before. Then came to realise that you have seeded the grass for lawn. It looks beautiful and is briging a new look to your home .

    My neighbor has one and it is massive, it looks gorgeous. She cuts hers down around October and it comes up bigger and better every year. That is going to look so pretty in your area.

    Good morning from East Texas! I love those grasses too! Very cool! 😎 It's hot and humid here in East Texas! Summertime in July! Love the heat and going barefoot in my sandy loam soil! Better than 20 below that's for sure!
