I want to share my story with you. I used to be a motorcycle racer, and my ultimate dream was to race on the legendary Isle of Man TT course. Joey Dunlop, the King of the Mountain, was, of course, one of my heroes. I was fortunate enough to race at Chimay and other closed road circuits, which taught me invaluable lessons about life. The closer you get to the edge, the more alive you feel.
Four years ago, on my birthday, I decided to hang up my racing leathers to focus on my other passion: music. From my racing career, I learned that it takes about four years to become reasonably good at something new. With plenty of ups and downs, I’ve now reached the level I had hoped for. Perseverance truly pays off.
Now, I pay tribute to one of the greatest, Joey Dunlop, while also honoring my own racing past and my future in music. In this piece, I let the engines speak as much as possible, while striving to keep it as musical as I can. I am still practicing, which is why I focus on creating tracks. I aim to finish my tracks quickly because that provides the best motivation.
Tonight is my birthday, so I need to stop working on this track. I can always continue and release an update later; no one can stop me from doing that, although it’s certainly not the usual way of working. Be different, be yourself, live your dreams.
