Do you have to complete the raid to start the quest or is doing the raid one of the steps
Spac3Wolf you have to finish the raid and do the puzzles to get it
Won't be completing the last step for a while
I just pick this quest up
Update: Since the vex event is gone, it is far faster to just go back to where you initially got the quest. You can grind vex there, with there being around 60 per spawn. To reset, just go back to the gate where you entered the area to get to the cave and hit the loading zone. Just head back and grind once more! Happy collecting guardians!

Well there is an exotic i will never get
i dont own any raid exotics in the game because im a solo player and i find it hard to get a team to do leviathan
Just look up destiny 2 fireteam finder. I started D2 as a solo player but I’ve gotten friends to play with and finished tons of quests, learned raids etc through fireteam finder
Spencer Williamson this new light thing helps. Most of my friends did not think they would buy destiny 2 or even play it. I told them to download it cause it is free right now and they like the game.

Your not alone, not a full time player only have moments of time I can play so it makes it difficult to be available when everyone else is, would be better if it was like a Vanguard mission and matched you to other players So you did not have to create a team first !

Cool another gun I will never get.
I did every step and crafted that last piece before I knew it was a raid quest, which sucks because this looks like more of a pain in the ass than its worth.

It depends if you do raids if you enjoy raids you kind of need this weapon but if you dont it's a waste of time
The relief is unmatched after getting it from a 9 hour raid run
Go back to where you started the quest and Farm Vex there (No need for Vex Invasion).

For the ‘Repair the decryption core’ you can do the new ‘Vex offensive’ activity.
If your looking for this in season of dawn, you can go into the raid and can kill the vex there.

For those doing this later on in the game, you got load up the garden raid repeatedly and farm the vex at the start to get the 120 kills
The spot you initially get the quest from I find to be easier.
If you're having trouble getting the 120 vex kills on the moon (Invasions can sometimes be rare) you can go back to where you first got the quest and farm that room for kills
An exotic I never thought I'd get, but

Dang. I stumbled across the exotic engram just screwing around, so I thought I was going to complete everything myself. Watched a couple videos, which led me nowhere until I found this one. Now I know I'll have to complete the raid completely with a group of people who are willing to go through these puzzles along the way. That sucks a little, but I'm glad I know, so I'm not the douche that keeps progress from happening with another group. Thanks for another good video, Rick.

hey guys when you need the vex cores just go back to the salvation gate and do about 3 or 4 runs, easy enough

I am so sick of all the best weapons being tied to the raid. It really sucks for single players. FML
I like this game but one thing makes me wanna quit that is no place for solo players. Why can't they balance the solo and co-op, not everyone want or can have a fireteam or even a good fireteam. The Izanagi quest, except the Shattered Throne step, no one bothered helping me at all even I was in a clan and I was fucking stuck at the Watch Lens for weeks until I found some stuffs buffing speed. Furthermore, they always make mechanics like a complicated mess whereas this is only an FPS, I don't want everytime I grind for this shit or that shit then I need to go to CZcams, I don't play CZcams
How will you use divinity if you play solo? Can’t shoot 2 guns at once
Kyle Fontenot well I’ve learned that in destiny there are a ton of “match making” things you can do. Being a solo player clearly doesn’t mean you never play with people, just maybe not 6 at a time. I figured that was obvious haha
jimm beech except any activity that’s match made is inherently lower levels and divinity wouldn’t be necessary ... melting point, tether , and tractor cannon all apply similar debuffs... not to mention the seasons grenade mods
Dude if I can get all but one triumphs done with just lfg for the Rivensbane title, then you can get definitely do the raid once and get this exotic.

Its way easier to go back to where you started the quest with the big portal. The tunnel/cave will keep spawning vex. So you can just go back to that area to farm the waves of vex, leave the area, and go back into it again. Takes about 2 runs to get all the vex you need. Makes farming vex on the moon sooooo much easier.

Hey Rick! I quickly got the 120 Vex kills and a bunch of extra quests completed by just running a single Vex Offensive. Probably not as fast as you but with the other 8 or so bounties done at the same time, payout was good!

Great work on this, I may get this one day, I think its best to have everyone at the same step, that way everyone can get it at the same time. I think this is way overboard for an exotic. I guess we need to all quit our jobs and just game for a living.

To get my 120 kills I just went back to the vex gate in the lunar battlegrounds. You can retrigger the multi wave gate event as much as you want to. I literally had my 120 in five minutes and didn’t have to wait on RNG for the invasions to happen

Not sure if vex incursion is a thing anymore, however I bet it's even faster to just go back and kill the vex like at the beginning of the video--where the quest start engram is. Riskrunner + arc class grenade at feet = vex murdered. Likely would take 2 - 3 runs of it, just fast travel back to sorrows and reset.
Man, i got lucky and got invited into a team that already completed all hte challenges and were at end boss. Saved me a little bit of troubles.

Oni I usually just do it with my clan, and we’ll most likely work on it because reset just, y’know reset our progress.
AnAutisticUser that works, you’ll get it. This is actually a relatively short raid and once you learn it it’s going to be one of the easiest mechanic based raids there is.
I personally found that the area where you get the quest is best for farming, just go in kill everything (you'll get around 61 the first time) and then just reload the area and boom done
The hardest part of getting this is by far the final boss fight WAAAAAYYYYYYY to much shit going on at once
Yea, I had the same damn thing happened. Everyone left and I was way to tired to do anything so for some stupid reason I left
I just did the raid and it took 4 hours lol. Not terrible for my first run. However I had people to help me:). The last boss was really buggy though. I was using chrome rush and it showed a hand cannon for a sec. Overall it was a fun experience. Edit: I did get the divinity.
I can't figure out which is less forgiving: Having the Raid Exotic drop locked behind a wall of RNG or having a Raid Exotic drop require a degree in Applied Geometry... for six people.
Enteresting turn of events, though. Kinda wish all Raid Exotics were both RNG `and' quest-related; that way if RNG isn't happening in a timely manner we can just buckle down and get the education we deserve at our respective college of choice.

For the second step you can also go back from where you get the quest and farm it I got 72 vex kills on the first on so it should only take you two times to do
Question: if you do all the puzzles and get to the final boss and leave do you need to start fresh or can you just kill the boss and get the weapon ???

Got it last night, the puzzles are not that bad to do. In total it took about two hours and thirty minutes to complete the raid and puzzles, but the gun is well worth it. We melted the vex offensive boss in 10 seconds, the moon hydra, and the 950 nightfall champions/boss like they were nothing.
For those 120 Vex I just went back to the Lunar Battlegrounds. Nothing no public events.
I also don't know if that was the case with just Shadowkeep at the time?

Now that vex invasions are gone. Just farm the place where you got the quest. You’ll get like 56-59 in 1 run

Side not idk if you read comments but for the second diamond puzzle wouldn’t it be super easy to put on the wing exotic chest piece with solar ability and aim down sites to stop in mid air?
Can you leave the raid after having done every puzzle, then come back to same raid the day after and still get the gun? Every puzzle has been done in on go but we all left after

Can you do the raid then back track and do the challenges? Like do everything but the boss then go back and complete the puzzles, then kill the boss. I’ve never done the raid so idk if I’m being stupid or not.

For the vex on the moon part just go back to the first step they will still spawn
For the third encounter when you do the second diamonds puzzle if you go through the tunnel instead of the sides the harpies are not going to spawn

I had started this quest on my hunter up to getting the divine fragmentation. I logged on my titan eris I think gave me my divine fragmentation without doing the steps beforehand. So i did the all puzzle n beat boss but didnt get the exotic. Even the 2nd chest was opened. So now have to do raid again with hunter :(
decryption core fragments can also be completed in one run of the vex offensive.

Thing is, those "good old days" also had exotic quests that involved raiding pretty seriously as well. I can definitely say imma go for this, but I don't have any thought in my head it'll be easy

this weapon made me cry. I completed everything but the raid. then I started to lose sleep over the fact I didnt have this weapon. So i started doing LFG's. Spent an entire week, with no less than 10 hours in the raid each day. On the day I got it, I was in the raid for 14 hours, I had gone through 7-8 changes in people, and took at least 2 hours to beat the boss. The minute I got the chest open and saw it, I cried. It was the most beautiful thing in the world. And thanks to the people who got me through that raid ( which just so happened to be my first raid EVER), I have made it my mission to help others get this weapon or even take them through the raid.
If you have Season of the splicer you can farm core fragments in Expunge.
Is there a power lock until Eris says to go do the raid? Because she hasn’t told me to do that yet and I added all 30 phantasmal fragments at the lectern of enchantment into my empowered core.
Hardest part is getting a competent raid team to beat the raid.

I had to sacrifice goats just to be able to find a group to run through Leviathan with. If I ever see this exotic in-game it'll be on the last day before they shut the servers down, when they give every player one of these in a unique color.

I came across step one on the moon entirely by accident the other day and got so excited because I had no clue what it was ...and now that I know what needs to be done I'm just sad.😢

Regarding the step where you need to kill 120 vex on the moon, don't waste your time hunting for public events. Just go back to where you picked up the first quest step on the moon and do that brief gate opening event twice. Even a scrub like me finished it in about 5 minutes and it was very easy.

? You just take it to the decryption guy at the tower... If you mean how to get them, it's 100% random, you need to unlock the quest to start getting them by getting to power lvl 910 (or 900 I forget when it starts) then just kill yellow bar enemies

Do I need a seasonal pass to get any trace rifle because I'm not happy after the trickery from bungie by selling as ornaments obviously so idiots like me fall for it and every method found needs the season pass to access specific parts in missions so I'm hoping I can do it another way without season passes to obtain such a rifle

Go to the same place where you got the quest in the first place to get the vex kills it’s a lot faster
I wonder if the penance effect can stack, so let’s say, if a raid group has two people running the rifle and uses it in DPS phases, does the damage increase twice for everyone? That would be pretty interesting.

It won't boost the damage per se. It basically enlarges the crit spot of the target. For example, if you are shooting a boss' head with a divinity, a huge blue circle will appear around his head, and the other people need to just shoot the blue circle to land crits.
A much easier way of doing the vex kills is just soloing the beginning of garden of salvation, kill all the vex restart go again took like 4 min to get all 120 kills
