When Harlow was 9 weeks old, we decided to head to the Buckland Valley for our first camping trip as a family of three. Buckland Valley has loads of free camps right by the Buckland River East Branch. After checking out a few of them and around 20km down the track, we stopped at Leinster Flat. The campground has river access and we were the only ones there.
Unfortunately it rained nearly the whole time we were there. Matt had to set up our rooftop tent and get the campfire going while getting completely drenched. It was also hard for me to feed and change Harlow while keeping him out of the rain. Despite the weather, we cooked a delicious leg of lamb and veggies in our cast iron pot on the campfire.
The next morning we had a few hours without rain where we explored the free campground we were staying at and the Omeo Gum plantation. We also drove a few minutes down the road to Good Hope Flat where there is an 'Infinity Pool' which is a natural deep section of the river which would be great to swim in during summer.

Good fishing area Buckland Valley. Check out My Buffalo and Paradise Falls in the King Valley some time. It's all near my home ground in the Ovens Valley.
