Nice rig, you have everything you need in it. I like the fact it is 4 doors, you don't see many like this. You have an upbeat personality, thanks for sharing. Happy travels
This is a really cool rig! Updating it the way you have, removing the rear seats and incorporating Alexa is great and really modernizes it. I love using Alexa around my house. Yes, it’s a little gimmicky, but it’s nice to just let her do things. It’s particularly helpful when I control all my Christmas lights in and especially outside the house. This is a great size rig for a couple, but especially for a solo nomad, and you still have the overhead bed for guests. Thanks for sharing. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this type of Rv.
Man, I've been sold on the idea of this nomadic thing for many many years and seeing your rig and hearing your pitch; only makes me urn for it worse than ever. Thanks for the walk through.
I’ve been fascinated by Revcon for several years! I actual owned a Revcon motor home (1984) class A! Totally different front wheel drive MH. However, this 4 wheel drive version is remarkable and I would love to own one someday! Thanks for the tour of this updated version! Happy travels!
Friend of mine had one brand new off the line, number 15 or 16, maybe 17 I'm not great at remembering those details. I fell in love with traveling because of her Revcon. My dream is to own one, when I win the lotto, lol. Beautifully done!
Sheesh! This guy is doing it.. I could only imagine living from your motorcycle for so long and making what's sounds like an amazing journey. Keep on keeping on, safe travels.
A really nice cool guy, Excellent set up. A simple respectful simple life wisdom and a really nice example of how easily ppl could live a more happy fulfilling lives.
I love the look of the Revcon! I like the changes to the interior too! I'd rather have a nice comfy bed than a large dinette too. Live his enthusiasm! Backpacking and traveling through so many countries, I bet he has some great and interesting stories to tell. Great tour. Thanks!
I had one for 3 years, we went thru a few transmissions, I felt the tag axle caused stress on Transmission, beyond that it was alot of fun, I heard it is in a field somewhere near LA
I was really curious to know if this had the E4OD transmission. I'm just going to assume from your post it does. Those were not good transmissions. Even when well maintained in a regular pickup you were luck to get 150k miles. I can see a rig of this size just burning through them. The only upside is they are cheap to rebuild compared to modern transmissions.
Love the look of the revcon very nice layout inside nice that it is a 4X4 that could be handy in some places nice and spaciouse , this fella is so blessed to own one of these .
@@nothanksguy Standard E4OD. Word around the campfire is these things eat them up. They were never up for the grunt the 7.3 could produce and now you're hauling around 11,000 lbs. I'd be shocked if the tranny lasted 50k miles.
I have to say that this is truly unique rig you have there. Never seen one quite like it. Hell...never even knew that 66 others ever even existed! This was a very interesting Vid and some very welcome information on these RVs. Thank you for that.
some one near st helena california has one, i would see it get taken to a local automotive shop for repairs. even have pictures of it :D, looks even better in person !
JP, you've done a great job getting this rig cleaned up and personalized for your own lifestyle. I see you haven't adopted Kevin's approach for a toilet though 😂. It was fun seeing this rig in person and helping to get the solar on the roof.
Revcon RV's are truly badass. I always liked the concept as it reminded me of a Tiger Rv. Anytime you put a living space behind the chassis of a superduty you can't go wrong. Dream Rv would be this with a brand new crate 7.3 Powerstroke
Revcon is one of rarest RV vehicles in history. It’s very difficult to search Revcon from any RV ads. JP Smith is luckiest guy to purchase RV camper from old guy. This RV vehicle is vintage but it’s cool to use for nice adventures. It’s flexibility to stay inside of vehicle. It’s enough space for 2 people. JP Smith is very active to journey all over the place. I’m concerning to looking for “RAM” RV camper vehicles. That’s modern technology.
Wow, have never had nor seen a Revcon but did have a Lance 950 slide in on a '97 F350 diesel dually and it was darn close. But that thing is the tits!!!!
@@harryo6126 and also copied from an Appollo RV . Stickers should read "6x4" A lot of weird "vocational" heavy duty trucks are set up like this where the front axle is powered but only one of the rear axles is powered. The backmost rear axle acts as a tag axle like in this rig(or on a Prevost bus). If only one rear axle is powered its a "6x2", if all 3 axles are powered its a "6x6"
The reason they stopped making them is they were basically a front wheel drive. The rear was worthless and would just spin on wet grass, mud and gravel because the rear axle was not powered, you had to put it in four wheel drive to engage the front wheels to get you of the grass, mud or gravel. Just going up a steep entrance to a roadway can leave you spinning the rear front axle and get you stuck.
WOW I wonder why they stopped making them. The chassis would need to be strong in the middle. Great layout. Bigger then a van. You have thought of everything. Safe travels.
This guy knows how to live on Planet Earth!!! No office job...instead seeing the world!! Great job figuring out life so young! 👏☘
Sure does 👍🏻
We'd all be doing it if it were that easy..
It's not a planet, but otherwise I agree. 😉👍🥞

Wow crazy to see those. My Dad was a fabricator that made those. I remember going to his work when they made them .I'm going to show him this video.

yes, until this video I thought all Revcon's were front wheel drive.
There was one of these for sale here in North Idaho some years back and I drooled over it for a long time, awesome to see another one out and about.
That mini spit is a game changer I bet.
Super nice! So glad you found your dream home on wheels...
This is killer! Now I’ve added another sweet rig to my watch list. May need to pick one of these up if the right opportunity presents itself.

The best of both worlds! One the best model F-series trucks (in my opinion) Ford has ever made and a comfortable camper with the necessities... 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
It was not made by Ford. They would fabricate all that. It was a regular truck they would extend the frame .
As long as you keep it rust free in the frame, it will be great! Transmission can be an issue if automatic
