  • In todays video we took our free flight trained macaws to Owlpen Manor in the Cotswolds for a free flying Christmas getaway. With several macaws free flying over the Uk countryside at Christmas we have some beautiful footage of our birds for you to enjoy. Owlpen Manor is a beautiful historic manor house with several cottages within the grounds and we escaped with Mikey and Mia, Iago the Greenwing Macaw and Rocket the blue and gold macaw.
If you enjoy watching birds in free flight, free flying trained macaws based in the UK and seeing macaws living their best lives then be sure to subscribe and follow along with the journey.

This might be a bit of a weird question! I was at the stables where I keep my horse (I live in the west coast of Scotland) and I was watching a wild buzzard sitting on the fence post and I suddenly thought I wonder is that something you need to be careful of when you fly Shelby? or would it be something you'd need to consider if you take her more remote places? I know people use birds of prey to scare away seagulls and stuff. I really enjoy watching your videos and seeing the birds have an amazing life flying with you guys - how it should be so please keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video ;-)

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! As for birds of prey, UK birds aren’t a huge risk to our guys. They wouldn’t stand a chance really. However the macaws are still naturally wary and tend not to fly when there are birds of prey overhead. Seagulls however are a massive issue! They’re bullies 🙈

@@ShelbyTheMacaw oh I hate seagulls - I live right on the river Clyde and the seagulls are a royal pain in the ass! they nest on my roof and attack you when they have chicks and god help you if your walking past them and they've gotten a carry out container! LOL

Hey, do you know how long it takes a baby cockatiel to bond to someone if it hasn't ever bonded before? Thanks!

Babies generally bond faster, but it depends really, just don’t give up on it!
