Today we're answering a question many people have asked us about how to look after a macaw, and that is, is it OK to take your macaw outside when it's cold? If you're wondering whether macaws can go outside in the winter, or whether parrots can live outside when it's cold then we help answer that question with this video.
Our baby blue and gold macaw free flies and whether it is hot or cold we take her out to fly almost every day. There are some things to consider when taking a bird outside in winter however so be sure to watch the whole video for some advice on how cold is too cold for a parrot.

It’s a Shelby thing haha 😂 🙈 baby macaws are clumsy and careless and so several of her tail feathers snapped off and the rest moulted out naturally.

Almost every day, always dependant on the weather.
I cant believe you can have a vase of flowers in tacked..were getting out when it's cold but windy and rainy we dont go out to fly...theres another problem I'm facing hes used to our dog but flew up on strangers today with dogs..we try fly were we avoid walkers with dogs because he lives with our dog so has no decent fear of them..we stopped the landing on ppl at the start of flying by ending a fly as soon as he did that and treating him when he didn't but that dog got two bloody close to him today ..I hope that was enough to teach him fear..I might try get someone with a dog to scare him..someone I'm sure can handle there dog..any other better ideas I'm all ears ..dm if you have anything..

How many macaws do you have
I'm surprised you take your bird out when it's so cold. Are you talking Celsius or Fahrenheit? Books say not below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Can you explain Celsius or Fahrenheit makes a big difference.
I wouldn't be surprised if macaws that live in colder climates would develop immunity. I guess one day won't kill them. They like chill, imagine in the rainforest getting wet and staying all night.
