Dual wield Rotten Battle Hammers with the blood affinity, use the wild swing ash of war and use Kindred of Rot’s Exultation, Lord of Blood’s Exultation, Shard of Alexander and/or Claw Talisman/Rotten Winged Sword Insignia. This was the first strength build I decided to make and it just slapped everything I came a across, please get them to cover this build 🙏🏽

Infuse poison in the offhand instead of double blood, it procs the kindred of rot talisman faster and stacks with rot, wild strikes only uses your main hand, so overall you’ll consistently get higher damage cause poison procs so often

@@goutbreak ^ this is a great tip. I like doing this so you have 3 different buildups at the same time without having to use grease or pots. I want to find a weapon category that I can powerstance, and have 4 different buildups. So this would be two different weapons in the same class with buildups built into them, that you can also apply ash of war to. Do you know of any that you can do this with?

@@glazedtenders3585 Right hand: Blood Antspur Rapier (AoW: Poisonous Mist), Left hand: Any Cold Thrusting Sword. Right hand: Rot, Blood, Poison (after AoW use). Left hand: Cold. Depending on your level you have at least three solid options for LH: Cleanrot (high base, D dex scaling, for low level), Noble's (avg base, C dex scaling, for mid level), Rogier's (low base, B dex scaling, for high level). Or even use Frozen Needle in LH: NO magic damage, but still applies frost, useful against magic res enemies and at high level due to how split type damage resistances work.

The ants are associated with the scarlot rot fungus because in real life many species of ants have a symbiotic relationship with fungus. They cultivate fungus in their colonies by feeding them leaves and stuff. They in turn eat the fungus. The stinger adaptation in elden ring is quite unique and unlike any ant I'm aware of but it's cool that the relationship exists.
i feel like the rotten crystal staff is bugged. to me its obvious it SHOULD build up rot with at least crystal spells. dumb you cant apply spinning staff to it either. seems like a bug to me. especially with that huge int requirement.

The rotten battle hammer and battle axe are probably the best looking colossal weapons in the game. They are so satisfying to use too.

I’ve been dual wielding Ant Spur with Rogier’s Rapier for a little while now and it’s actually been really fun. The dual rapier moveset is super fast and powerful and using the Carian Phalanx ash of war on Rogiers sword really sets up a powerful stagger to really quick pokes and build up of rot. Highly recommended
A miracle has happened people. I downloaded Bloodbrone again because I've been enjoying Elden Ring so much. I'm actually decent at the game now. I was terrible before. Thank you Elden Ring.

@@behelit5544 in my opinion bleed and rot is the meta. Rot definitely is meta, most people just don’t have the necessary builds required to use it properly. I have a primarily bleed build but once I beat the game and started NG+ I levelled faith so I could use some incants like Ekzykes decay. And it fucking slaps 😂 rot is incredible

Thank you so much I missed the Rotten Crystal staff, I had thought I found all the Scarlet Rot weapons in the game.
Ants and Fungi have a big connection in RL with one another (fyi there is a "zombie" Fungus out there, which is the basis for the zombie outbreaks in games like "The last of Us", that actually infects ants and controlls them, making them go to places that is good for the fungus to grow, for them to then just stand there and die and be nutrition for the fungus).
So that's probably why Ants in Elden Ring have so much to do with the Scarlet Rot (which is Fungus themed).
Also,, Leaf cutter ants farm mycelium for food
Cordyceps.
Heads up on the three crystal Ian’s in t haligtree area with the spears. You can use the dark mist or whatever it’s called to kill them without them moving. Made that so much easier during my play through.

You know I think the god of rot would be an insect seeing how butterflies come off of her wings and that there are bugs in the lake of rot in that temple.
Man your right. The rotten crystal staff was a missed opportunity. Would have been bad ass if it changed the crystal sorceries visuals and actually made the spell crystals red and applied rot. Fingers crossed for a patch that does that one day. That would be sweet.
7:40 u can farm those 3 enemies easy way without even fighting them (they actually don't react) just use night median mist and try to aim it at the middle of them so it can kill them all together ...

@@cedaley I would be more fine with Vykes spear if it wasn't the only weapon, because if it ever started feeling stale I could fall back on something else.
Plus I feel like a lot of weapon types could really utilize the chaotic nature of the yellow flame. Primarily I think a colossal weapon,
curved sword or curved great sword could really pull off the theme.
Hopefully we get to see more madness weapons in the future.

still useless though. if your that close to do spinning staff your better doing sword mele coz then at least your doing mass damage without the chance of glitching the enemies since spin doesnt stop attacks or anything. just does tiny ticks of damage so long as nothing hits you whiiiiiich is useless in a soulborn game so
@@zamorvex It's incredibly useful when the staff crystallian does it to you and inflicts scarlet rot almost immediately. They have that massive poise where you can't interrupt them. The Ironjar perfume coulda done the same to you.
The antspur rapier is awesome with bloodhound step on it. Used it the entire game, faith dex build, buys you space to cast incantations. Light. Can poke from behind a raised shield. Excellent fast piercing weapon to compliment great swords when you come across heavily armoured foes. handy in pvp, close distance, inflict sarlett rot, they’ll run away frantically from the fast attacks, switch weapon to blasphemous blade/sacred relic sword and nuke them as they retreat…. 😵
Yeah I love it. Inflicting rot poison bleed and frost while dusk wielding them feels so good.

Next people will be crying for Parry to be nerfed because it can literally counter everything in the game that deals damage. (In one version or another; Parry, Golden Parry, etc.)
Easiest way to take care of the trio is to stand on the roots and cast night maidens mist. They won't aggro and will die after a few casts.

My current go to is Antspur Rapier with Seppuku ash of war set to poison and it does really well against 90% of the bosses I've come across and it has surprised me against people too. Although if I'm not using it I'm just using using a Cleanrot Knight thrusting sword also with Seppuku but set to Blood in stead of Poison and even though I'm not building for that status it still does surprising damage against players.
For the rotten crystallians, you can use night maiden's mist to kill them from the branch and they will not agro on you at all.
If you're a caster going for the Rotten Crystal Staff there's a lone crystal sorc that drops it which is much, much easier than dealing with the crystal mob. Take the same path as the Rotten Staff in the video, but head left after the last jump. If you've made it all the way down to the bottom grace then you can also start from there and take the elevator up (the one past the giant flower). Make sure you have that silver scarab that boosts discovery as the drop rate is on the low side (took me a couple hours to get it). And trigger sending the elevator back down, since you'll be making this run several times. :/
Been using the Rotten Great Axe lately, it's pretty effective, I use the freeze ash of war on it. I pair it with the fingernail shield. Need really high endurance of course.

The easiest way to farm the rot trio, is to use the night maidens mist sorcery. It can comfortably be cast from a top a tree roots, and none of them will actually pull agro. They'll just sit there and die. You might need a little patience as it will take 2 to 3 casts depending on your stats. But makes everything very easy and safe to acquire.
There is an easier way (if you match the stats). Fallingstar beast jaw colossal weapon simply destroys them. With 50 strength 50 dex 20 int its skill deals 1000+ damage per use, instantly stunning them from a safe distance, without aggroing others. It took me 10 minutes to get 4 spears and 1 staff this way.
@@CaMypau I have a couple of those, but I really haven't played around with them. I'm sure it's absolutely more efficient timewise. Though it requires somebody to be level 120, minimum, which they might not be the first playthrough.
@@Daniel-ix6nq You don't really need such high stats. I'm pretty sure that even 34 str, 12 dex, 20 int (minimum requirement for efficient using Fallingstar Beast Jaw) is enough to kill them pretty fast. And you can raise your stats with some headgear and talismans. I didn't have 20 int at the moment, so i equipped Marika's Soreseal and Twinsage Glinstone Crown, which in combination give +11 int. Also, don't forget that Godrick's Great Rune raises all stats by 5. Also also, two-handing a weapon requires less str to use its skill, so 23 str should be enough. But you will still need to level up the weapon to at least some degree. Mine was +9.

I haven't been able to test this myself yet, but supposedly if you apply the Seppuku Ash of War to the Antspur Rapier and add poison damage to it with that Ash of War, then while it's enhanced by the Seppuku AoW, it can supposedly apply Poison, Scarlet Rot, and Bleed at the same time, which can make it quite the deadly tool for applying status effects.

Your comments about scarlet rot being the meddling of an outer god interfering with the Lands Between makes me think that Astel and the Falling Star Beasts are some sort of descendants of it. The Stinger Dagger is just like that of a scorpion's, both of which enemies have a scorpion tail and mandibles.
Something to think about
I feel like scarlet rot is equal to a nuclear fall out. The lingering after affects for so long and how it changes the land scape.
As a note to Antspur Rapier: its rot buildup goes down to 0 if infused with cold / frostbite buildup.
They mentioned this in a previous video. I think it's okay up to +8 or something.

Insects being vessels for Elder Gods is pretty common thing in indigenous north american mythology; shadowrun and couple of other games have co-opted this theme.

Fun fact: antspur has a specific build and is one of the highest DPS weapons in game. I ran antspur and frozen needle + pcb on my lvl 9 to beat game 4th account around. Invade w frozen needle and pcb is hilarious on low lvl accs.

@@CrimsonSpikeFlash pulley crossbow. I bought lightning bolts from Lyndell, fire from caelid, and burred (65 blood) from the merchant in mohg palace(he's in the cavern on the way to mohg). Farmed bird when I needed runes to restock bolts. I also collected the bell bearing to purchase bones from the maidens cuz sometimes you need to craft bolts on the go since you can't always hit a grace.
And once I got sepukku I used that so blood bolts would proc more often.
Any reason why you use frozen needle? In my game it only had around 60 frost build up but using rogier rapier with frost affinity gave me 100~ frost build up
@@coldbacon4869 frozen needle heavy attack shoots the weapon, can't be parried and uses no FP. Frost causes 10% health loss along with 20% reduced damage negation and reduces stamina build up once it procs. There are better weapons for frost build up but I used it on my lvl 9 low invader. It's quite effective when also applying rot/bleed and rot/bleed talismans stack. It's personal preference for 3v1 invasions when you need to drop opponents damage negation because the host during low level invasions is normally protected by higher level co ops. Again the frozen needle is a utility. It was never meant to outperform bleed builds or combo builds at such a low level.
Fun fact about the Crystalians at the Haligtree, in order to reach them you have to avoid some of those weird multi-armed amalgamation things to reach them. Easy to outrun them, but dont try fighting three in a row like i did for an hour before giving up on the extra runes for killing them.
for scarlet rot and poison i think small and fast weapons works better ! inflect the stat fast then u can move to next step (run) or (swap to heavy weapon for constant stagger) ...

It's a shame that the Rotten Crystal Staff doesn't really do anything special. It has worse scaling than the Crystal Staff so you'd think it would at least have innate Spinning Weapon or something...
I still use it just for the aesthetic though haha
Antspur Rapier + Poison Mist + Bleed affinity + 3 status effects at once. I power stance this with White Mask or Mushroom Crown, Raptor's Black Feathers, Lord of Blood's and Kindred of Rot's Exultations, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, and Claw Talisman. Add in the physic tears for successive attack boost, stamina recovery, and Bloodboil Aromatic... nearly everything in the game just MELTS. Even enemies that are immune to status effects take some decent damage from this build.

2 years into the future and Im slightly disappointed theres no rot katana simply for the fact Malenia uses a katana as the goddess of rot
To be fair, Cotton, the ants mainly live in the tunnels by the Lake of Rot, or on the Haligtree. They'd probably get a lot of Rot in them from the environment.
Scorpion dagger is really good. Hits rate is good for applying rot in bosses

The crystalians are weak to gravity skills/spells. I just used the fallingstar beast jaw and spam its skill to quickly kill those 3

hmm....i dont remember and i might be wrong but i think u can actually get the rotten crystal spear in a room guarded by 2 crystallions. its in the haligtree right under the bridge where u got the 5 royal revenants... room is pretty dark so bring a torch and I advice killing the revenants 1st before going in...

For the crystal enemies use Blunt weapons, when I fought the duo boss I Dual wielded the great star and they weren’t upgraded they died so easily
Neat thing, don’t know if it’s a bug or not but each time I’ve killed the erdtree avatar that drops the rotten staff I killed him from by the stone sword key gate on the other side, and he dropped a rotten staff. Then I went over to where his body actually was and was able to pick up another rotten staff from only killing Jim the one time

I just got the axe one wish would of got a lot sooner. Always thought be cool if had Scarlett rot weapons but didn't know there was. Made taking rykard out really easy as I'm sure would of made a lot of bosses already beaten easier. Idk what they was even thinking with the rotten staff. They should of had special ability on it to shoot rot mist like rotten breath but maybe not as much or to shoot rotten crystals. Rot on the sorceries would been a lil much. But would think they'd of done something with it to do rot damage.
Hot take, the thrusting daggers (parry dagger, misericorde, and the Scorpion stinger, then you can do stuff like rapier and parry dagger and more importantly you can wield antspur and scorpion stinger together.
I will also die on the hill that the specific repeating thrust ash on the scorpion should add a scarlet rot buff and maybe some holy damage to sell it as a major sacred artifact of rot. It's not even like it's not a president in game, look at spinning slash on dragon scale halberd.... Just saying
All the ant nests are underground in particular, the Deeproot Rot area. Less we forget, the underground lake of rot was formed by a god that was sealed there. The ants said these areas were good enough for them so they grew an affinity for rot based stuff and you know, you are what you eat!
@ragegamingvideos you really should mention how the rainbow stones can/will stick to walls as well as fall through some (not all) death barriers without shattering.

dual ant rapiers is one of my go-to melee options for everything (except hard enemies like fallingstar beasts, miners and crystalians)
With bleed on both for pvp or poison on 1 to apply 3 stats too bad ice is broken and goes to 0 or id have 4 stats popping up every 2 pokes

The Rot Pot is the only Rot weapon I need! To bad I constantly forget to gather toxic mushrooms to craft them. And even when I crafted them I forget to use them.
But still the only weapon I need.^^
toxic mushrooms are a pain to farm, only the one outside calied errde tree is decent and theres only a single mushroom....

Something to mention for this video is Scarlet Rot has 3 damage tiers small rot damage which is on the rotten crystal sword and is roughly on par with poison dmg (which rot stacks with btw) then you have standard Rot what most of the weapons have and what Enzykes the dragon uses it does the normal Rot damage everyone is used too. Finally you have Severe Scarlet rot which you get in the Lake of Rot and phase 2 Malenia boss fight which does massive ticks of dmg faster than the normal ticks don't think players can use the severe SR though. actually, you do have access to the severe rot, however it is only inflicted by the Scarlot Aeonia incantation.

Slight correction- you can main-hand the rotten crystal staff, slap Spinning Weapon on there, and ruin people's days with instantly applied Rot.
Off-hand the regular crystal staff and make a crystal sorcerer build to have an actual functional caster that can apply Scarlet Rot

This game has been out for about 5 months now, and I haven't seen any videos about why there's a blood stain at the very beginning of the game near a dead maiden and when you check out the the bloodstain it's a phantom of Melania dying, which makes me wonder was this her maiden or ours???

so...does dual wielding the rotten crystal staff and regular crystal staff give a bonus big enough to not just use lusats and a crystal staff in the other hand? when it comes to the applicable sorceries I mean.
I think the lusat's is essentialy break-even with respect to damage per FP (i.e. the damage increase ratio is same as FP increase ratio) so any 'free' damage increase staff will beat lusat's in terms of dmg/FP but lusat's will do more DPS
There must be a reason they are found in the second part of this game. The Devs probably put them in this part of the game because they were good against these enemies. Weird you can’t find them in Cailid.

wait you can change the scorpion's stinger ash of war? really? that makes it the second weapon in the game that has rot build in it and can have it's ash of war changed that's pretty cool
I find the Night Maidens Mist spell is very effective for killing crystal enemies.
Is scarlet rot a tool from the rot gods to terraform the lands between it does look like it to me 🤔

for the staff, can you give it spinning weapon, to apply scarlet rot?
I got the rotten staff from a different location... you still have to fight the crystal person but it's 1 v 1 instead of 1 v 3

funny i was just research all the weapons and a few a these popped up like the rot spear
Dual wielding antspurs makes other weapon lose all of its rot build up if its upgraded over+5. Other Antspur can be +25. EDIT: made some testing and seems Cold affinity bugs it out
Well to kill those annoying crystals enemies , the easiest way for me was to lure them out one by one and use the frost soap with my bloodhound against them one by one. They tend to not go further past the grace site; if you want it easier long range kill. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. But frost seems to always do the trick for these crystal enemies.
Duel rapiers is the greatest build I’ve ever used. Absolutely destroys kids in PvP

the tags on the little red bar say rotten crystal sphere not rotten crystal spear, just thought id point it out
you actually CANT apply an ash of war to the scorpion stinger dagger :/ it was part of a former build of mine paired with the reduvia dagger, even checked it after seeing this video if it has been patched or something cause in the video you say it can be done... but sadly it still cannot :(
