    Does this one reduce fluoride in the water?

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před rokem +2

      My understanding is that carbon-based filters do not, as this one is. Only reverse osmosis filters will remove fluoride.

    Great but how about the TDS reading?

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před rokem +2

      I didn't even know about TDS readings until you wrote this post and Googled TDS. I've ordered a TDS tester and will add a video after I receive it. It could make for a fun test of creek water, tap water, filtered tap water (using this filter), filtered refrigerator water with old filter, and then replacing the filter on the refrigerator and testing it.
      Thank you for your input!

    Had to remove mine after a one year test. 11 months to long. WD-RF15 filter

      Why do you say it was 11 months too long?

      @@TwoKeysStudio I know that after a returned filter that I thought was defective and purchasing a replacement, all three filters lost half the pressure after a month of use.

    thread tape is applied clockwise direction

      Thx, I heard others say that as well.

    • @Fun_Dealer
      @Fun_Dealer Před 8 dny

      It’s applied in the direction you turn the nut. This is so it doesn’t peel up as you turn. So depend whether you have a left hand or right hand thread. Most will be right hand so clockwise.

    Hot water is not filtered just cold?

      @@TwoKeysStudio Why is that? are there any that can filter hot and cold water? for kitchen sinks

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před rokem

      It only has one line in and one out. You could simply add a second one for the hot side, but the temperature might be an issue. I am not sure if it's rated for high temperatures or not.

      @@TwoKeysStudio Besides this brand are there any that you know of or that you recommend that can filter hot water without issues?

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před rokem +1

      I found this in the Q and A section. It looks like the only way to filter hot water is to go with a whole house filter or possibly add a filter to the input side of the water heater.
      "Thanks for your interest in our WD-10UA Under Sink Water Filter System.
      Sorry to tell you that the 10UA system can only be used in the cold water lines but not hot water lines.
      Because the hot water will destroy the structure of the carbon rod, making it impossible to filter. And that, the applicable temperature for the filter materials is 41-100.4℉, if the temperature is over this range, the adsorption effect of the filtration materials will be greatly reduced.
      If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call between the hours of 8:00 AM-5: 00 PM (PST), Monday through Friday at 1-888-352-3558. We will try our best to help you out. Thank you very much."

    Hope you don't need your drain snaked, no unions on the trap. The teflon doesn't help seal the braided supply. Fyi

    • @TwoKeysStudio
      @TwoKeysStudio  Před rokem +2

      Uhmm, yes there are unions for the trap. You may not have seen them in the video, but they are there. As for the teflon tape, it came with the filter along with the steel braided hoses, so I am sure that that is what it was intended for.
      Thanks for watching.

      Not that it really matters, but the guy is right about the braided supply lines. There’s a rubber gasket inside the compression nut that you screw onto the shutoff valve so Teflon tape is not necessary at all
